Hello, Shy here. Today I am making an executive decision: I am retiring the book club series. It’s been difficult for our hosts to carve out the time for the books, and the book club videos themselves aren’t as viewed as the non-book club ones. So the best course of action for us is to take good books and convert them via Possum into episode scripts. Some people will be understandably unhappy, but this is the best way to still have good books discussed on the podcast but without a 2-4 month wait process and constant LIES to the audience.

As an apology for not finishing the Carcharodon book series, we will be making a new updated episode next month entirely dedicated to Space Sharks, with all the new updated lore we gained from the books and with better Possum-lead research and scripting.

TheAmberKing also will be helping us with creating episodes covering the Eisenhorn and Bequin series of books in the coming months, so look forward to that!

Fair enough, and a new shork episode seems like way more than even comp for not doing the rest of their book

Jose Nunez

Sad but this is also leading to some good stuff. Don't forget about ravenor for the inquisitor books!

No one in particular

Sad, but please put a Nathaniel Garro episode on the list, was looking forward to Flight of the Eisenstein.

Big shame the book clubs are actually my favorite episodes. Author interviews also tend to be my favorite episodes, but I understand the pain since I used to try to do the homework of reading your announced book. I hope it makes a come back for some authors though

No worries do what's best and maybe easiest(?) for the Adric crew. I like the regular "book" episodes better anyway..from the guys' interactions, Possum's scripts and of course your visuals.

Bugeye0704

A shame but understandable, excited for these future book episodes, and hopefully we cover the 2 white scars Horus heresy books at some point.

Decius

Makes sense; while I do like the crew giving their opinions on the book, it seems pretty easy to fold it into being a general episode. The recent Ghaz one is a great proof of concept.

TheLGod

Fair decision, would it be out of the question to ask if some of the patreon members or members of the discord would want to take up the book club mantle. I for one did enjoy the book club episodes and you guys have opened me up to the wider lore of the 40k universe as well as fantasy. I'll even volunteer myself for the idea

The Bone Daddy

Understandable but disappointing, it was the original reason I joined the Patreon but the extra credits each month allowed me to listen to my own interests instead of listening to books for the club I didn’t care for. Sad to see it go but figured it was going to happen eventually.

Aberrant Writing

I’ll take that deal, I want more space sharks and I wanted them to review the 3rd book.

Evan

That sucks But we understand I did like keeping up with the book club it was fun. Especially on long work shifts. Hope you guys get some more author interviews at some point too

TheChimpPit

RIP Book club, but I think this will also make better episodes with this decision making. Maybe if a book is an absolute banger, then maybe it can return once in a while though?

TheChimpPit

Also, if you guys eventually discuss The King in Yellow, we need to have Sandman of Terra on the podcast - he's so probably the most knowledgeable person on YouTube about that one topic / plot thread

Thadoy

Completely understandable, also I did like the book club episodes, I'd rather have hosts not burdened by unnecessary deadline.

Gucci gang, my gooch is gangrene

Book clubs were the only episodes i was watching for a while. ill come back if you guys ever bring it back, i got super excited when the notification came up saying “book club” so that was a great big slap for me personally. I actually really dug those episodes because it gave me an excuse to reread stuff or read newer additions in anticipation for the upcoming episode Love you all, just not the content im looking for anymore sadly.

CPG

On one hand tragic. I enjoyed the book club episodes. On the other i barely have time to read them either. Most of the important moments will make it to regular episodes anyway.

Arkken

I feel like Bricky is too busy and DK keeps forgetting. By busy, I mean playing Marathon and Deadlock in his spare time.

Nightmare Booda22

I actually appreciate this. I get bummed out waiting for the new episodes of book club and not actually knowing when they coming. It sucks but i get it, everyone has lives and lives are busy and god knows we've all missed a project at school right?

It was fair
