referencing another feralbat comic, it ends up superman made the wrong call in asking batsy to collect the kryptonite from marinette.

it ends up Batman's tactic of "adopting" any kid he thinks needs guidance has a faulty line - approaching a child who ALREADY HAS GREAT PARENTS with this offer serves to only piss them off.

(also replacing Red Hood with Batgirl-Cassandra as Marinette's guard was probably the worst idea, as Marinette ALSO lives and dies by reading people's body language to stay alert for Akuma attacks. kinda of a kick in the pants to bring in someone who does the same thing and say they do it better, and now they're going to babysit you. lmao)

AUGH THE BABIES THE BABIES!!! Absolutely *love* how you colored this one, especially the sunlit rendering on Marinette (hope that means your feeling a bit better, or that you just had some fun at least?). Also Superman's no shit Sherlock at the end is sooooo scrumptious like yeah gettim boy

Oooo, that’s why she was pissed in the sketch, understandable. I wonder if supes speaking with her genuinely would help or make the situation worse… Also, it so funny flicking between image 3 & 4 rapidly.

Yeeeeaaah, not surprised Bats fumbled so hard. That's on him for assuming all child vigilantes are orphaned/have bad parents. The sad thing is Marinette could use an adult mentor figure, with Fu out of the picture... And at least she doesn't know about his whole 'contingency plan' thing...right? Can't imagine she'd be too pleased...Though maybe she'd understand (*cough*Chat Blanc*cough*)

The sad part is...yeah. Cass almost certainly can do it better than Marinette, but that probably wasn't the implication he was intentionally trying to give off. His ass-backwards relationship with the concept of healthy/mutually reciprocated communication and cooperation bites him in the ass again. It doesn't help that whenever he does his semi-pushy adoption/heavy mentorship schtick, he's probably doing it out of genuine concern. His lackidazical, outright neglectful and irresponsible approach to girl partners like Steph and even Cassandra to an extent got them either killed or exacerbated issues that were already there that he maybe missed or deliberately ignored, so him being proactive with Mari makes so much sense in the worst ways. Like, Stephanie has a Mother trying her hardest who she has a complicated but loving relationship with and she has actively shied away from any possible father-figures thanks to her dad. (Bruce's initial treatment/lack of training and trust didn't help.) Tim had healthy, if somewhat absent, parents when he was Robin until they both progressively got killed off either indirectly or directly because of his association with Batman. Duke's parents were alive but jokerized as well as a whole bunch of other stuff later on, so his relationship with B is like a healthier version of what Tim struggled through. Damian and Cass are a whole mess of complications unto themselves. Barbara has a loving and LIVING father and has no interest in Bruce as anything other than an old mentor she has to keep in check everytime he does something stupid or mentally batshit. The only ones this adoption bit really worked on is Dick, who he took on as a ward because it was convenient and Bruce was too young to properly have a father-son relationship (by the time he could their relationship was on the rocks); Jason, who is the best example of it going to plan except for the dying by joker's hands and being betrayed by his bio-mom, who now has a VERY strained but still subtly caring relationship with B. All the others in the Batclan are either too old, have their own full families/friends for support, are too far removed to even go there, or (meta*) aren't popular enough to join the family officially. All this to say. This is so hilariously in character for him to screw up so badly. Marinette has every right to set these boundaries because if she didn't he might have brute forced the issue and done something irreversible that all would regret. I do feel bad that Cass probably had to take the brunt of Mari's ire until being kicked out. (I presume? It didn't mention all bats were banned, just Batman. But for now I'm assuming it means all bats.) She probably should've been the first option to send instead of Jason. If only for her capabilities and attitude if nothing else. Btw, don't push yourself too hard bfb.👌you serve us so well already.

The hell do you mean good with children, 3 of them fucking died, Jason tried to murder him, Dick left home dressed like the disco strangler, the man isn't great with not pissing kids off.

Sarah

I love how it took him being called out multiple times by Marinette AND being straight up threatened by Felix in front of Supes for him to FINALLY admit he messed up. There’s no faster way to get someone to own up to their mistakes than by having someone outside of their family witness it happening! 💀

Kerra Quigley

Ah Batman, not sure what to do when it’s not your squad to command. Good for Marinette. It’s hard to stand up for yourself against men twice your size. Especially “important” ones. But yeah, probably a fair call to get that kryptonite out of your soda.

the disco strangler is maybe the funniest way i have ever hid dick's discowing era described

Very tempted to make the WHAP panel my new desktop background. Absolutely priceless

*Good with kids who are not super truamatized and go home with him at the end of the day. In most comics he actually is really good with children, even if he's not always the best parent.
