ough sorry for squeaking this out under the wire... my shoulder is still bad. u can actually see the parts where my artstyle falters and swells depending on the pain levels, its bananas

anyway here's update! 2 awkward boys 1 tired girl 1 dysfunctional god. stir well with 2 egg yolks and place in oven for 2 hours till crispy

Oh man, good job Markov recognizing the red flags! And being upset that Marinette doesn't talk to them anymore, my freaking HEART. Absolutely love Max and Nath being super awkward, and how you incorporated some of the newer lore! Interesting that Imago says he 'stole' her presence, like they physically weren't there...but then Markov clearly saw her without issue which makes sense with how kwamis interact with technology 🤔🤔🤔

Markov my heart! The look on Max face when he realized that yes he was making conclusions on woefully incomplete data and that Lila was the reason , in part, for Marinette drastic changes. Love that Nathaniel recognized that Marinette's actions aren't without cause within the context in which they happen like Lila like to claim. It is curious that Markov could see through kwami powers, maybe it's because he's got senses/sensors that Imago wasn't trying to avoid when he stole her presence. Like I'd imagine that if Imago stole her presence in front of a security camera it wouldn't make her vanish off the feed just make anyone watch the video just not recognized that she there.

Ahhhhh this update is so sweet, Markov caring about being a good friend, a win for honest communication, Imago being mildly terrifying, and Marinette being simultaneously terrifying and adorable- Those panels of her peeking out from behind the bunny, how could anyone possibly be mean to her, she is just a lil guyyyy... I also really love how you've handled Max's social blunders here, they feel so real as someone who also struggled with social cues at that age, he doesn't mean to be rude but he also doesn't know all the rules to being polite yet, and he's clearly trying to understand. 10/10 best written version of Max I've ever seen, including in the show, love that Markov is simultaneously Just a Precious Bean, and also Max's Jimeny Cricket

Oh my god amazing. What an incredible update thank you so much for sharing. These panels man. Instantly, I’m in love. You’ve managed to insert so much complexity and full-on humor into a dynamic that is barely explored in the show. And Markov my sweet boy, he’s so lovable and amazing. Your versions of these characters always ends up being so wonderful and nuanced, that I honestly prefer them to the show. And the humor! God some of these scenes were so so funny. The face of surprised Markov might be my favorite thing ever. Thanks again for sharing! I do hope you feel better soon!

Yeah I think it’s super cool especially considering how cameras (and therefore robots like markov) have already been established to not perceive Kwamis so it’s interesting to see what abilities are effective against humans vs robots

I said this under another comment but I think it’s so cool how humans and cameras have different things that effect them… like we already know cameras can’t capture kwamis (at least in canon idk about this au but I assume it is the same) and here the presence stealing doesn’t effect their perception of humans and physical objects… Like I’d love to see how this is applied elsewhere… like if Marinette broke into a building using imago’s perception stealing would she be caught on camera but not security? Or would she only be caught by sentient computers like markov and that one robot girl from the US special?? Also wonder what part of a human is affected to make it so they don’t perceive something… like is it their brain? Bc I know that the brain some what fills in the blanks of what input our eyes receive… so is it because the stealing effects the brain or a specific part of the brain? If so would someone had minor ( can it be minor?) brain damage to that part would the magic effect them differently?? I have so many questions

Nah bc someone even like 10/20% less nice might’ve beat Lila up with Mari’s combat abilities… especially considering Chloe gave her the mayors daughter immunity… The only reason why someone less nice might not beat her to a pulp otherwise is because of her parents… bc almost everyone at school or in her class ( at least in Mari’s mind) think she’s a violent bully and she doesn’t care to change that perception… I mean I also wouldn’t feel comfortable beating her to a pulp ( bc I also don’t like hurting people) but she needs to understand that she is not as NEARLY as much of a menace as she could be or should be
