sorry this took forever, life happened a-freaking-gain

it also wasn't coming along as smoothly as other parts have... it felt very much like I was working uphill in this part, and im sure it'll show in some parts where I'm struggling

when i saw the email i opened patreon so fast. WAHOOO !!!! THIS WAS GREATTT and the art is gorgeous, i have to point out my favorite parts. lila cornering nat was terrifying.. the colors and everything had it feel so dark and ominous. her face in 33... terrifying. nat's face in 34 is gorgeous..! and then the color change when max arrives, i am such a huge fan of how the tone changes are conveyed with different palettes. lila's eyes in 51.. so dark. and 53, the fury on her face !!!! such incredible art. god this is such a treat, so many beautiful frames

Yess I’m so excited for lady clarity 😭😭😭 On one hand I’m so ready for it to happen But on the other I’m glad it isn’t being rushed… I love the slow build up bc she’s been worried about her class since Felix and Mari became friends.. or when Lila and Alya fought. It’s cool to see the emotions slowly getting stronger until they get strong enough to be on Gabe’s radar

It's SO satisfying seeing the dominos fall one by one to get Lila's house of cards to crumble! I feel bad for some of the kids that genuinely believed Lila, but at the same time I hate how quickly they turned on Marionette who they supposedly trusted and as pointed out, got bullied by Chloe for YEARS without firing back! AND ALEX'S FACES! I love the feral look she has! It's amazing! Go girl go! The amount of effort and skill poured into these pages, the framing, the pacing, the tones. I got goosebumps! You might say you been struggling with the pages, but it paid off! Take your time to recover and know that these are all so amazing and that your hard work is really being seen!

God these updates were just so fucking beautiful. And never have I been so glad to be a patron, because honestly, the thought of having to sit with the cliffhanger of Lila potentially outing Nathaniel for a week would have sat in my stomach like a rock. But Max was a fucking genius; not only did he outplay Lila at her own game, but he did so while proving to Nathaniel that he can be trusted with his secret, reaffirmed Alix's best qualities, the qualities that show that even if she's not a good fit for the Rabbit Miraculous, that doesn't make her a bad person or an inherently bad friend, and not only took out Alix off the board in terms of Lila support, but planted severe doubts in everyone not named Kim. Way to go! I also really appreciate Max bringing up the Marinette/Adrien thing because, like...I get it? As someone on the spectrum, I think it's totally justifiable that Max would equivocate the two situations, especially since he himself is so uninterested in romance and physical contact that he wouldn't necessarily look for the differences without them being pointed out to him. Seriously, you do such an amazing job writing these kids, and seeing them slowly shake off Lila's influence one step at a time is way more refreshing than another tired salt fic that blames a group of impressionable young teens for the show's bad writing. The problem was never with the class; it was with the show for failing to accurately depict a toxic social manipulator and how easily they can worm their way into a position of influence. (Another thing you do fantastically.) Brilliant work as always, and I'm very glad to hear that things are going at least a little better for you! Let's hope the upswing continues!

To give the class credit, a) they're kids, and kids are kinda stupid, and b) in a world where Lila's lies are allowed to be realistic, there are a lot of cracks in Marinette's life and behavior for Lila to exploit. This is not victim-blaming Marinette in the slightest, it's just pointing out that between Adrien and her own tendency to withdraw, catastrophize, and obsess, a social manipulator like Lila has plenty to work with regarding turning her into a pariah. It's not right, it's fucked up, and the class is going to have to reckon with what happened and who Lila made them become, but at the end of the day, they got played by someone with a Bachelor's degree in gaslighting, and Marinette unfortunately was a prime target.

That was enjoyable. Max collecting proper data while throwing Shade at Lila was fantastic. Alix reaffirming her friendship to Nathaniel was heartwarming. Kitty Parade’s rose-colored glasses are starting to come off. Lila learns she’s not as infallible as she thought. Will she retain this lesson? Probably not, she’s pretty shortsighted at times. And Kim remains infamously oblivious to red flags.

oh how lovely it was to wake up to this! The facial expressions here are just phenomenal, Max’s blatant disappointment especially. I really like seeing other characters take agency in regard to Lila. It makes the class feel like a group of individuals rather than one singular collective. People acting independently and drawing up their own conclusions is indicative of actual people. I really like it. Also seeing Lila dig her own grave simply because she can’t afford to let one person disagree with her, just beautiful. Mari isn’t gonna need to do anything at this point. Lila is stirring up enough drama as it. Thanks again for update! I know we all really appreciate the comic and the work you share with us! Great job!

On the one hand, it was a little mean to Nath to use him as a prop in revealing Lila's character. But it worked out that his secret is still safe and his relationship with Alix is now better. Plus more people in class are seeing how Lila uses what should have been a private conversation to try to hurt their fellow classmates.

oh it absolutely was mean. but Max took Nathaniel's "I'm gonna be brave" as an OK that he could face Lila and not cower, which is not what that meant at all. Luckily alls well that ends well, especially since Max and Nath technically aren't super close friends, so as a result their relationship in class remains at a trustful neutral.
