not a single happy camper in sight

sorry this took a minute my life exploded again. yippee

anyway this update features: lila realizing she's a small fish in a big pond. surely this can't go wrong and being exposed to a corrupt industry won't cause her to punch down even further to try and grasp a single straw of control back right. right

for those curious, Lila's mother's medical records show her being quite the malingering sort of woman. Lila got it from somewhere, after all. (it's not like she's proud of that fact and actively resents her mother for being such an attention-hog. no, she does not see the irony. she never will)

edit: changed a word and also this ended up being four updates due to the quantity of being 88 freakin frames bahjeezuz

Oh wow. I got nothing. I mean, we all know about the darker side of the modeling world, but wow. We just got some lore about her mother as well, and that is a whole other can of worms. Jeez Louise. Also, you weren’t kidding in that one post. You never forget your first love. I see Felix has gone feral and that’s hilarious. It’s good that the kids are starting to put some things together.

Felix and Adrien being the brothers ever at the start was so cute! and okay, Avalon continues to not be great with kids lol. like, he has plenty of reasons to dislike Lila but she is a child??? still, that's a consistent trait, so whatever. props to the second doctor for not buying Lila's bullshit for even a second though. the comments about her mom make me wonder who SHE'S pretending to be. AND THEN!!! Felix continues to (rightfully) call out Rose's hypocrisy and then goes baby Yandere to the point where Rose doesn't know if it's good! so much good stuff. beautiful. delicious. thank you

I haven't finished yet but im loving how sibling like they were acting, older sibling Felix and younger brother Adrien. I know they are the same age, but the climbing one trying to grab the phone, the holding the other back with one arm, the way it ends with Felix biting. I love it!

WOW! What a rush! I read that so fast yet had to reread a couple panels because YIKES! Things get dark! Here are my thoughts about some specific panels.... Like... Most of them xD Panel 1: Good Felix! Giving your girl a heads up! Panel 2+3: "What do you mean AGAIN?" Yep, called it as soon as Felix was giving that "Wtf" look xD and Adrain immediately knows because of that, that Felix is talking to Marionette. Panel 6: Felix... Don't bite you friends! Panel 10: He doesn't want you around Marionette either! Panel 13: That... Makes a lot of sick sense... Panel 17: THANK GODDESS SHE IS ALRIGHT! Panel 21: Alya... Please... You are scaring the kit (Baby rabbit) Panel 25->30: If you know you know.... Ew Panel 33: NO SHE DID NOT! Hello?! Is she saying that JUST to try and get put closer to Marionette?!?! Panel 37: NOPE! NO! FUCK OFF! GET RIGHT OUT OF HERE! PLEASE NO!!! NOOOOO! Panel 38: Dun dun duuuuuun. If you know you know! Panel 42: Trying to copy Marionette I see Panel 43: Penny in the air... PFFFFF That is both so awful and hilarious xD Panel 88: Yes and yes Overall, as always, amazing stuff! I will be rereading this a lot and rereading it on tumblr too once it goes there!

Oh my goodness I thought that the SPOILER thing had been a nice cutesy flashback for Liliana not a RAW, BLEEDING wound in her psyche, the funny thing it's that it unironically works with the season six shenanigans. Also it's nice to see that Gabriel is just as slimy and shady to others as he is for Adrien. Also also it's good to know that Rose keeps the gaydar safe and sound.

I love how much Avalon looks like Felix when talking to Lila. The only problem is that while Lila may have been distracted from akumatization this "little" lie of hers will no doubt will get reported back to Gabriel by the other doctor and he will do something to make Lila have a genuine break down and akumatization. To clarify Lila deserve getting exposed the problem is how powerful of an akuma will she become for Hawkmoth. Also the image of somebody employed by Gabriel represented by a hawk in the drawing is really good visual imagery

ohhhh man. Feralnette is gonna make ME feral. Lila Rossi is so fascinating. I need to put her under a microscope. What a funny little bug. She's always toed the line, but now she really is playing with the big boys, huh. Finding out that you might have placed yourself in real danger, huh? And man, yeah, I know Lila was going for an insinuation of probably inappropriate things being said, not done, but wow. Oooooof. She's.....probably not in danger, as her.....asset to Gabriel isn't actually anything to do with modeling. But there are....plenty of others in his employ who are not on the same page.

The Culpa bloodline really does hate that child, its almost impressive how quickly they go from indifference to "if you leave me alone with her for 5 more minutes im going to commit a felony" Also Lila really got shoved in the emotional blender this update. Going to the hospital backfired so much! I almost feel bad. Great three chapters!!

This has been the most cathartic update yet OH MY GOD. COMEUPPANCE GIRL;!!! LETS FUCKING GO!!! PEOPLE NOT BOWING TO LIES!!! PROTECTING MARINETTE!!!! WAAHOOOO!!!!

God these updates were fucking gorgeous. Seeing Dr. Avalon flip the script on Lila so effortlessly was pure perfection, even if the followup with Gabriel's assigned doctor was a bit too disturbing for me to take as much joy in. Damn, the modeling industry is just fucked up! Also, Lila talking to herself about the things she needs to be just that much closer to being Marinette? Horrifying, and I loved it. Meanwhile, Felix's insight is spot on as always; they are as cunning as they are vicious, and I am here for it! And with Alya and Alix connecting, the anti-Lila coalition is getting even stronger! Sidenote, I love Adrien in this. Just, generally, I really love Adrien in this. Like, given the way the romance is being set-up, it would have been so easy to have him stay oblivious for a while, but no, he had his big wake-up call in Enough Rope when Marinette unintentionally made him realize how fucked up it would have been to even try to take advantage of Lila's lie to pull the move she suggested, and he's stayed that way ever since. He's sweet, he's not an idiot, Marinette and Ladybug both know he's on her side in his respective capacities, and it's fantastic. All in all, another stellar series of updates! I can hardly wait to see what happens next! Although I do have one question; did the Akuma leave because Lila couldn't get the window open, or did it leave because Gabriel realized that the way Lila's emotions were turning, her Akumatization would have probably turned against his own agency? Something to think about for sure!

Felix had a very decisive win against Adrien. XD That part about Gabriel genuinely makes me feel sick. Rose wondering if Felix is a red or green flag instead of seeing he's a Culpa colored flag is hilarious.

There's so much to say about this chapter that I can't condense into words, but something I *can* is that Avalon js *devastatingly* attractive—and despite his insistence that he's no good with children, that was actually a pretty decent way to teach Lila a lesson (if she weren't in the trenches). Assuming she's a normal kid who lies for kicks, he did really well—caught her in a harmless lie, showed her how it can hurt the people she's lying about, showed a degree of understanding but emphasized that especially in their context she needs to be completely honest, and gave her an example of what her future may hold by comparing her to the mother she clearly dislikes for being a liar. Unfortunately for him Lila is absolutely and completely entrenched in Something, so he is definitely not gonna get through to her remotely.

ooooh what a lovely surprise to wake up to! It’s great to see that even with Lila’s stunt last chapter, not every adult is as malleable as her classmates and attempts to stake her ground don’t really work on true professionals. Even if Avalon wasn’t warned, I doubt he would bend for Lila in the way she wanted him too. And the panel work! There are so many pieces from this update that I want to hang on my wall. I don’t like Lila at all, but man some of her panels. The use of contrast when she’s in the ambulance, the motion of her desperately trying to get the Akuma inside, and the image of her fox like ways, being taken out by much bigger predator. They’re all so beautifully drawn and I can’t wait to go back and re examine the new chapters. Thanks for the update! great job as always!!

SO MUCH TO UNPACK HERE 😭😭 First off… CALLED IT i knew Lila did that to try to get into the hospital Crazy that Lila’s mom is a pathological liar too… (I wonder if that’s the right terminology to use 😭) makes more sense why she enabled Lila then… she must be trying to rationalize her own behavior… is she?? Addicted to drugs??? Bc the line about not treating fake injuries is so loaded to me… it’s either she’s creating drama like Lila or she is trying to get herself prescription pain meds… idk (hope she gets the help she needs if its the latter ) Regardless the tension with her mom???? Crazy she tried to ruin his reputation immediately lol but not unexpected… And I love the implication that Lila is being confronted with liars that are more vicious and disgusting than her and it scares her… like the fact that villains have levels in this au IS GABRIEL A PEDO??????????? Or is he like TRAFFICKING people??? Why is his models getting plan b a common occurrence??? OH HE is SO much worse than I thought…. It makes sense now how he’s so good at manipulating children… he grooms often then 💔💔 Side note love Felix already “staking their claim “ lol to rose of all people… wasn’t she one of the first people to clock Felix’s crush??? Other than maybe Adrien but I think he just thinks they are friends… or actually it was probably Lila who figured it out first

technically, the akuma didn't leave at all - it was just hiding outside the window and overheard the entire conversation lila had with gabriel's go-to mob doctor. gabriel likes to stay in the loop when it comes to useful tools

Lila realizing that there are other predators out there and she’s not living in her own perfect world. Rose trying to figure out if Felix is a red or green flag when the answer is that he’s a yellow flag. Proceed with caution. If you’re not someone who he has claimed as his own, you should probably avoid him. But someone like Mari or Adrien are perfectly safe!
