Hey all, here's an early look at the next video.

It's not polished yet, but I'd like to get your feedback on:

Is this interesting to you?

is this technical enough? Would more code snippets and diagrams help?

Should I power through the first 2 approaches quicker and spend more time on the 3rd fast approach?

Is the pacing too fast? Should I pause more between sentences?

Would a table of contents showing the 3 approaches with 40 vs 120 vs 2000 FPS help, similar to my last video?

Interesting - yes. Technical - I'm happy with. Pacing of content and yourself - good. More comparisons would be awesome.

In hindsight I also didn't get the example of the 2 windows. I couldnt see it

David Edmeades

Could you do 1 video that cycles through the different examples in the same scene? To better understand the differences. Or maybe just excend the examples more. I think it's one of those things once you see it you can't unseen it. But at least for me I didn't catch many of the hacky ways issues.

Interesting - yes Technical - would like to see how those two previous are done in code And the video could be go a little bit more into detail

Random question... Do these approaches work in like vulkan? Or only specific to opengl?

vercidium

Using all approaches on the same scene is a great idea, I'll do that! I'll also recreate the 2D planes on the windows so I can show that better. Great feedback, thank you

vercidium

Working on it now, thank you for the feedback!

vercidium

Yes they do, anything you can do with OpenGL you can do with Vulkan

Interesting - Yes Technical - A little faster through the first one, but if you could provide some kind of graphic illustration on the "planes in front of the windows" section, I think it would help understanding before moving on to the shafts example. Also, a little clarity on how you collect the shadow information in order to generate the average opacity would be nice. Shadows are still black magic to people like me. :D

Thank you for the feedback, will do! Although I'm in no place to try to explain shadows, I'm still a noob in that area haha
