HI again!Annd the moment many of you have probably been waiting for, it's time to help suggest an animal for our new female arrival, named Amanda by popular vote!

I'd also like to toss out a thanks to master-tf for coloring the character designs! (Check out his DA page!)

What you guys know about Amanda so far:She is a  is a film student from Connecticut who is venturing out into the woods for a film project.

She is driven, proud, eccentric, personable but with a bit of a tough/defensive exterior.  She is a film geek & horror movie aficionado

SO!  I'd like to stipulate ahead of time that I want her to become a mammal since Jack is turning into a reptile - but beyond that, suggest whatever you like.  [I mean, I'm not going to stop you from suggesting another animal, but I'm going to be picking my favorites from your suggestions and making a poll from those :) - so fair advance that I am in all liklihood pick mammals for that poll )ALSO - I forgot to mention, but the setting "rules" mean that she will be turning into a nonmorphic, herm animal.Animals should be real-world, non-extinct animalsHope you guys are enjoying this system :)  I was just going to choose a name and animal all on my own, but figured this was a great way to do something a bit more interactive with my patrons <3

One suggestion per person, please, and since I am going to be out of town this weekend, I will be leaving this open to suggestions until MONDAY April 9 at noon CSTSince I am going to be picking my favorites from the suggestions, I do not need to have a cut off on number of suggestions :)

Andrew D

My suggestion would be a hyena!

Amenephis

Well, you know, it's not terribly original, but with the horror movie aficionado bit, a wolf could actually be interesting. Using the second suggestion you absolutely definitely said everyone should offer, a sandworm from Dune.

Bee Ridge

A nice big fat piggy

Kairo

How about an unorthodox mammal like a platypus?

Blutopia Studios

Something nice and big, maybe an anthro shire horse or sea lion (but with legs rather than flippers).

Steve Crowson

A male anthro horse or male anthro zebra.

SqrlTale

But you have my sea lion vote for sure

Amenephis

Horse would be cool, but anthro is antithetical to the setting.

Amenephis

Horse would be cool, but anthro is antithetical to the setting. There actually WAS a Cabin zebra already though. Sort of. I rather wish that had finished.

Varky

Fat anthro cow!

Amenephis

Anthro is antithetical to the setting.

Geekdragon

Anteater. Handy for reaching between new layers of stubborn armor-like scales.

Ishayu

A giant panda. xD

Varky

Anthro at first, then ultimately feral, in that case.

Jack Slater

Badger, badger, badger...

Drag

Rabbit, there was a really bad horror movie with killer rabbits.

Amenephis

Still I'd be game for a zebra. Zebra over horse even.

Amenephis

That would work though. Cow is a fun traditional choice, and would have been my other thought.

Amenephis

Monty Python and the Holy Grail?

Drag

I was thinking Night of the Lepus, since it's the joke of all jokes for horror films.

Amenephis

Well since they're all going to be hermaphrodites anyway, gender is kind of a non-factor.

Amenephis

Never heard of, actually, and here I quite enjoy bad horror movies.

Drag

It was made in 1972

BS

Lovely cows!

arania

let me know your suggestion between horse or zebra, Steve - but like Amenephis says, the stipulations of the setting will mean that they become nonmorphic and herm - but I'll add that to the notes on the journal

arania

Cow's certainly a fair suggestion for the character - though yeah, bear in mind that they will go fully nonmorphic/herm - and I can't promise an order of transformation

arania

Made an edit to the post above since I should have laid out the mythos rules in this post, but the setting of Cabin in the Woods has been established to dictate that all characters will become nonmorphic/feral and herm.

Varky

Mmhm! A herm nonmorphic cow and/or bull would be rather wonderful.

Jack S. Ward

I'd would have to vote horse for Amanda.

arania

I will definitely put you down for the wolf suggestion ;) Heh, yeah, probably not on the sandworm for non-mammalian, non real-world animal caveats (plus like you said, that second suggestion that was so encouraged ;) )

arania

Let me know which pick you'd like to go with, but as Amen said - the mythos for the Cabin in the Woods setting all become herm, nonmorphic animals :)

RedShift

Going to have a few for you to choose from Cheetah, Wolf or Cow

arania

Please one suggestion per person :)

rowss

lizard

Personal Opinion: Ok, so the ones we've already seen in the Cabin in the woods series, are Donkey, Fox, Rat, Deer, Zebra, Bat, Cougar, Bear, and I believe a Wolf was hinted at as well. For me personally,, I don't want to see redundancy, so that would rule out the ones already shown, and other large cats and dogs, as we've already been shown these animals. We just got two cow transformations, being Bovine Bite and The Cattle Drive, so that could be too much of a good thing. Aquatic mammels would be interesting, but I feel like at some point she would be trapped in a tub or something. Primates are another option, but for me, they're too close to being human for it to be much fun, although a de-evolution story line could be cool. Horses and pigs are also good ideas, but those are pretty common in the month to month artwork. In the end, my silly personal choice would be a Snowshoe Hare. Haven't been a big rabbit/hare transformation for awhile.

RedShift

Oops, sorry! I'll go with Cheetah for sure!

Origin_Aaron

I would have to say... A cow. After seeing Bovine Bite and how uncomfortable and painful the main girl was feeling when her cow udders started growing and filled with milk. I say having Amanda go through the same thing would be perfect when she can't relieve all that pressure. Just my suggestion.

The Senate

Monkey/primate of some kind.

Amenephis

Are you suuuuuuuuure you don't want to explore how to tell if a sandworm is a boy sandworm or a girl sandworm? :P

Amenephis

Interesting. TO IMDB!

Amenephis

Maybe it IS a mammalian lizard. Furries gonna furry, yo. :P

Amenephis

Well. Can't fault your analysis there, nor your conclusion. Hare would certainly be an interesting and amusing choice. Good call. That said, wolf wasn't merely hinted at, it's flat-out confirmed on page 225. Gee whiz! :)

arania

Thoughts and justifications are interesting - and I'll probably go into what winds up being my picks to vote on next time and what don't - but since I will be picking from rather than making a poll of ALL the suggestions, I certainly don't mind hearing thoughts for/against certain species. Repeating animals that weren't already covered in depth in cabin doesn't bother me personally (I've hinted that Dee wasn't the only fox considering the one she mated with and likewise Keith wasn't the only deer - though unless someone wins a slot later, I probably won't repeat any of the main 4 animals at least.

Firecage

Since I total forgot the origin story had a bat can I instead suggest. giraffe

arania

Sure - no problem! :)

JazzFly5

Oh yeah, forgot about the doubles

SF

Goat! We need one in the Cabinverse.

fur108108

Well put, and I love the hare suggestion! I was thinking along the same lines!
