Ætheria Aellas is the powerful matriarch or Sauria. Her magical might is said to be at least at the level of an Archmage. During the Baptism, she was one of the few Dragonkin who fought for the Stone King Dumat, rather than help establish the Kingdom of her father, Drakon. Known as a Slayer of Champions, she once specialized in eliminating the heroes of the enemy forces and is known to have clashed with Heroes such as Alanzia de Lioncourt, Buck Valenrow, Sarissa Eladithas, and even the Hero Canton himself.

Ætheria is responsible for killing  one of the Legendary Eleven, the furkin Heroes of the Baptism of Fire. During the Final Battle she slayed the Sorcerer of Swords, The Belkin Emperor Albert Belk, and severely injured the Stallosi Champion; Brennan Coltus. She broke the lines of the Furkin Army with her elite guards, 'the Dragon Blades', and almost stopped the enemy advance, but was finally beaten back by the combined efforts of the Ranger Sarissa and the Borderkin, Buck Valenrow.

Like most dragonkin, she does not hate furkin, but does have a sense of superiority to them. Though dragonkin hold this opinion of most lizardkin and even dragonborn too, as they are the children of the Celestial Dragons. As such, Ætheria has several abilities that are almost Eternian, like the ability to absorb or sprout her wings at will, though it is noted this polymorphic change is not cosmetic and affects her physical and arcane strength.

Because of her renown and the respect most lizardkin had for her, both as a war hero and a child of divinity, when the Stone King Dumat shared that the Eidolon Salamus' order to end the war, her father, Harad, decreed that she take charge and end the fighting.

Ætheria lead the faction of lizardkin who clashed with Gamel and Roma, who wished to continue the furkin purge. Fighting alongside furkins instead of against them, Ætheria established a fondness for the Hero Buck Valenrow, who had defeated her, though she seemed to dislike Sarissa. Leverin rangers, especially the survivors of Harimal, had been devastating foe in the past. Sarissa had tried to assassinate the Arcane Empress on several occassions, nearly succeeding each time.

She worked with Alanzia, the Queen of Hearts; to end the war and force an amicable peace treaty. As part of this treaty, she both helped raise, and then married the Dragonborn son of Gamel, Mizer. She was meant to be a sensible check for the future King, to keep him from following the path of Gamel. A task which she managed to fail at spectacularly, as his family and the ancient clans of the 'War Faction', stoked Mizers hate for the furkins. Leading to years of strife.
