Taming the Faith by ONGI (Patreon)

The Church of the Goddess has many acolytes and representatives, but none are so interesting as the Ministrata. Those who have taken on the tenants of the faith, swearing to help spread the goddess' blessings and mercy, but are unable or unwilling to give up their world attachments.

Many ministrata find their way into the keeps and castles of lords; furthering the education, bother academic and religious for a new generation of lordlings. Others, the most oft seen, free lance themselves out to adventuring parties; most of their spoils returning to support and fund the church. There are however a few Ministrata in the ranks of the Sacred Order of Raven Knights, ministrata like Isaac Ramandu.

Megogo has seen many ministrata come and go. Most are fiercely loyal to the church and whole hearted believers in the faith. Many are willing and quite able to share the blessing of passion to others, within the confines of their holy doctrine. All however, tend to have a bit of a superior air about them at first, owing to their belief that they are chosen to save the very souls of their fellows, as well as protect them in battle. Isaac Ramandu was no exception.

The Nemean lioness had dealt with his type before; all full of rhetoric and barely disguised pride. He was friendly enough, but hadn't the foggiest idea how to get along properly in such an eclectic group as the Orders. Lords, liars, thieves, knights, cut-throats, and clerics; it takes many types to defend the lands from the dangers of the arcane. If Isaac was to become a part of Megogo's big happy family, then Mama Gigi would have to break the boy in. 

It may have taken a few tries, but the Order's Master at Arms always sets her pupils straight. The handsome clouded leopard of Stroudi descent took a few hard lumps on his way to understanding, but is the better for it. Maybe the next ministrata will not need quite as much tutoring to learn his place; Megogo certainly hoped not.
