The Sword of the Stranger (2007)

For a seasonal movie for the run up to New Year, how about the oft-overlooked Coen Brothers movie The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)?

Moonlight. Every month until it wins, not sure if it ever will

Cade Soergel

BlackBerry, Boogie Nights, Phantom Thread, Barton Fink, Anora

The Florida Project people and Moonlight people need to come together to get both A24 films picked. Moonlight is excellent as well 👌 😁

'It's a wonderful life'. (1946). Come on I want a Christmas movie. This is one of the greatest movies of all time and I don't want to wait another year so I can suggest it again ❤️❤️❤️

Yay! I'll vote moonlight too again if it's on the list.. I've been casting a vote for it everytime it's been on the poll. 😁😉

Blue Ruin (The maker of Green Room’s previous film), which sort of plays out like a revenge film played extremely realistically, like if Taken starred an average Joe with zero “special skills” and just stumbles down an increasingly dark path that doesn’t portray revenge via violence in the best light, but it’s still very entertaining.

Jacob Corenthose

The Silent Partner. It's a Christmas movie and a crime movie. Perfect combo.

That's a pretty great pick. I remember when I was younger enjoying the first half more than the second half. Watching it when I was older was the other way around.

Maybe my favorite Sam Mendes picture. It's not as as researchable as Road to Perdition (at least for me). It's as beautifully shot & such a great "war" film.

Oh man, is this movie fun. It's like an anime or cartoon or comic brought to life. So many frames just drenched in candy coated perfection.

Shane Black at his Shane Blackiest because it's being filtered through the mind of Renny Harlin who doesn't let things like logic get in the way of a stylish moment.

SunnydaleClassof99

Hard Boiled (1992). Chow Yun Fat & John Woo at the height of their powers. Arguably one of the greatest action films of all-time. "Give a guy a gun, he thinks he's Superman. Give him two and he thinks he's God."

I suggested it these past two years and it didn't make in unfortunately. That's pretty frustrating I'm not gonna lie. I was hoping Jimmy would pick it himself if it's not going to win this time.

Roxy
