Not sure if you caught it Jimmy but “The Gang Tries Desperately to Win an Award” is a metaphor for Always Sunny never getting an award or being nominated (hence the other bar is light and plays popular music, has a will they/won’t they, and the line “black bars don’t win awards”)

I also like the "is it the location?" meaning FX but then they mention the new bar winning awards which at this time would've been 'the Americans' but they could've been talking about any of the other shows on FX that won awards beforehand

I feel like this ep is an 8/10 on its own, but a 10/10 once you realize they’re talking about the Emmys, and never winning one. Possibly in my top 10.
