Unforgiven and Road to Perdition tied for the last spot in February so the latter shall be the first of movies this month. Three spots left. Suggestions?

Jamie Roberts

The World's End, Dead Man's Shoes. Two films you and dummy would love

James Bellamy

The Lobster - starring Colin Farrell. Very unique but great movie

MrEvers

Groundhog Day, Weekend at Bernie's

War of the worlds

Gonna have to recommend Matchstick Men again. I really think it would be right in line with your taste in films and as a bonus, I don't think I've ever seen someone on YouTube react to it so you'll be breaking new ground.

MonarchMello

Black Dynamite(2009) & I Saw the Devil(2010)

After reading the suggestion for Matchstick Men, I have two more movies where Nicolas Cage is incredible: Lord of War (noticed this wasn't on your list, a great movie), and another that is challenging for your average viewer but I think you'll appreciate a lot: Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call New Orleans. Its extremely absurd at times, but justifiably. A Werner Herzog classic.

Reusing some suggestions from last time, plus new ones at the bottom. Any of these appeal?: Clue (1985), a who's who of 80s comedy talent does a wacky murder whodunnit based on the board game Speed Racer (2008), the Wachowski siblings campy bright kinetic action packed fun adaptation of the children's anime?  One of my favs. Zodiac (2007), director David Fincher's look at the investigation into the Zodiac Killer, and on the nature of obsession, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, & Robert Downey Jr. Contagion (2011), Steven Soderbergh's star studded tense thriller about a worldwide epidemic, which while a significantly worse plague ended up being prescient in certain ways Big Trouble in Little China (1986) teams Kurt Russell & director John Carpenter again (after The Thing & Escape from NY) in a campy self aware satirical action comedy that is one of my top 10 movies all time. Kung Fu Hustle (2004), an action/comedy starring and directed by Stephen Chow.  It's basically a kung fu movie mixed with a looney tunes episode, it's absurd and off the wall.  He did a more grounded (slightly) movie prior to this one about super-powered soccer players called Shaolin Soccer which is also good, but I'd say start with Hustle. Maverick (1994), an adventure/western/action/comedy adapting the 1957 show of the same name, about a slick, fast talking gambler and his misadventures attempting to acquire the entrance fee to a major poker tournament.  Stars Mel Gibson, with Jodie Foster, Alfred Molina, and James Garner.  A personal favorite from my youth. The King of Kong:  A Fistful of Quarters (2007), throwing a curveball:  a documentary.  It's pretty funny, about some super strange real life characters.  Talks about competitive arcade gaming, specifically a big fight over the world record for donkey kong.  It's a strange tale of underdogs, villains, and absurdity.

Ninaofthe90s

I'm gonna go with "Primal Fear" from 1996. A very suspenseful courtroom drama/thriller with Richard Gere, Laura Linney (Wendy from Ozark) and the brilliant Edward Norton in his very FIRST movie role (that won him a buch of awards and an academy award nomination) . One of the greatest acting debuts I've ever seen.

Ninaofthe90s

And I really want Gattaca on the list again!!! 😘

Dave

Jurassic Park

Dave

Wolf Of Wall Street

JD

Felon, with Stephen Dorff and the great Val Kilmer.

Ninaofthe90s

I was just going through the list and oh my god -- does that mean you haven't seen "Léon: The Professional" (1994)?? A cult classic, One of the greatest action drama movies ever made with Jean Reno, Natalie Portman in her first role when she was only 12 years old. And Gary Oldman the greatest actor alive. Directed by Luc Besson - yes the guy who directed The fifth element. But it's a far more serious movie, even though Oldman plays the villain again. Or maybe you just forgot to add it?

Stefanniko

O brother where art thou and the big lebowski, both funny as hell classics

Dave

The Proposition

PCG98

The World's End, Dog Soldiers, Beowulf, American History X, Black Hawk Down

Nerd Going Outside

Gattaca should be back on the list this month, it really is a fantastic film. Also, I feel bad for suggesting the Patriot, but I'm still going to suggest the Patriot. It's fun. Oh, and I didn't see Apollo 13 on the list, so Apollo 13. Got to round out your list of Hanks movies.

Karleton Bingham

Lone Survivor, Fury, 13 Hours, Law Abiding Citizen, I Am Sam, and Black Hawk Down

Jesse Walker

Speed racer, spiderman: into the spider verse

Juan Pablo Camero

Green Street Hooligans. A movie about violent football gangs in the UK. I highly reccomend you give this a watch.

Everyone alive today should see American History X. It’s hard to watch at times but for the right reasons.

Unbeheld

Going by your watched list here's some classics: * Avatar (2009) - The most divisive film James Cameron made, where people love it for what it is, or live to hate on it. * Back To The Future (1985) - The classic time travel movie. * Black Hawk Down (2001) - Ensemble cast, a more romanticized version of a real event when an American helicopter crashed in Mogadishu. Ridiculous cast and a Ridley Scott movie. * Blade Runner (1982) - One of the movies that turned Harrison Ford into a legit star, way ahead of its time, a true classic. * Blade Runner 2049 - A worthy sequel by the hot in the moment director Denis Villeneuve. * Contact (1997) - More of a philosophical sci-fi but asks really important questions. Think of it as an inspiration for Arrival. It's also led by Jodie Foster and Matthew Mcconaughey. * Election (1999) - One of my favorite comedies of all time. I'd like to think of it as a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day off. Led by Matthew Broderick and Reese Whiterspoon. * Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) - Classic coming of age comedy, a bit dated for modern age but it's still a classic. Ensemble cast as well for its time, led by Matthew Broderick. * Ghost in the Shell: SAC The Laughing Man incident - My sole anime entry here. There are many iterations of GITS movies-tv animes - tv anime movies etc.. This is a movie based on the TV series for GITS SAC (stand alone complex). It's like Justified in that it's got the case of the week episodes and overall serialized storylines spread across multiple episodes. This movie is a editing of various episodes to form "a movie" for the main storyline for S1 of GITS SAC. SAC is widely considered the best version to watch the Ghost in the Shell universe, so thought if you liked this movie, you might consider watching the whole SAC S1+S2+Movie afterwards. Please don't mention the abomination that is the live action version by Hollywood. * Groundhog Day (1993) - Another great classic comedy and arguably Bill Murrays best movie (yes including Ghostbusters). Must watch. * Ip Man (2008) - Probably the best movie from all the countless Ip man movies that came over the years. It stars Donnie Yen and is an excellent introduction to Bruce Lee's fabled teacher. * Leon The Professional (1994) - Jean Reno's best movie about a hitman befriending a neglected kid (a very young Natalie Portman) next door. * Looper (2012) - Time travel, Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Emily Blunt - enough said just watch. * Minority Report (2002) - Spielberg's adaptation of a short story by Phillip K Dick. It's got an insane cast led by Tom Cruise-Colin Farrell- Neil Mcdonough-Max Von Sidow. Probably the best sci fi film Spielberg ever made. * New World (2013) - One of the best gangster movies in KR. * Rounders (1998) - Great film about poker grinders led by Matt Damon - Edward Norton and a fantastic support cast as well. If you like either Damon or Norton it's also a must watch. * Serenity (2005) - The movie conclusion to the much acclaimed tv sci fi series Firefly. Not recommended if you haven't watched the tv show, but a must watch when you get to it. * Source Code (2011) - You like Jake Gyllenhall? This movie is for you. Won't mention what it's about. Just watch. * The Abyss (1989) - Before Titanic, this was the "impossible to film" movie that Cameron made. There's now even a documentary of the behind the scenes in making this film you should watch after seeing this movie. It's batshit crazy how difficult it was to film this. Yet despite it being over 30 years old.. it still stands the test of time. One of the most underrated film Cameron made led by a very strong cast as well with Ed Harris. * The Grandmaster (2013) - One of the most beautiful martial arts movie ever shot. The cinematography alone is ridiculous. In this age of wire-fu and fake-fu, there is some merit to this film in that the arts depicted are actually still practiced to this day in China. From Bagua, Xing Yi, Wing Chun to my favorite Bajiquan. Of course there's some movie exaggeration on this. Fantastic cast led by Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi. The story itself is all over, so you must watch the 130min original Chinese release (not the Berlin edit or the Weinstein edit). But when the fight scenes are this cool, you don't really need to make sense of the story.

Ashley

21 Grams (one of my favs; Sean Penn; Del Toro; Alejandro González Iñárritu’s best imho ), Eastern Promises (steven knight’s); The Patriot (just a great epic, Heath Ledger, Mel Gibson).

A ton of great suggestions in here. Seconding Back to the Future, contact, the professional, minority report, rounders, the abyss.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

The Way of the Gun (2000). An absolutely fantastic crime film. Written/directed by the guy who also wrote Usual Suspects, Edge of Tomorrow, and Mission Impossible: Fallout. I think once we find a writer that gels with Jimmy/Dummy, we should work through their good ones (like we did with the In Bruges/The Guard brothers.)

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004). A great adventure comedy, by Wes Anderson, starring Bill Murray.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

A Simple Plan (1998.) Brilliant thriller with Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton. Massively underrated.

Tyler Green

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Agnieszka Pienczykowska

* Out of Sight - Awesome heist comedy with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez * Gone Girl - Worth the watch even if the plot has been spoiled. The writing is superb. * Election - Dark comedy with Mathew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon * A History of Violence - Gritty action drama with Viggo Mortensen directed by David Cronenberg * Eastern Promises - Gritty action drama with Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts, and Vincent Cassel also directed by David Cronenberg * Requiem for a Dream - I didn't see it on the list. It's a must see dark drama about addiction with Jared Leto, Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Wayans * Half Nelson - Great movie about an addict school teacher with Ryan Gosling * American History X - Very dark and violent movie with Ed Norton. Must see.

Drew

Bone Tomahawk, Green Room, and Beowulf. Gonna keep suggesting until these fucks vote for them.

Steven Montano

I second Bone Tomahawk (or Brawl in Cell Block 99 or Dragged Across Concrete). You would dig the hell out of S. Craig Zahler's films.

Jonas Hagström

The only one of the Cornetto Trilogy (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of The Dead) you haven't seen- The World's End.

Ted Cali

Fucking hell I got to this party late. See y’all in April I guess. Everyone keep pushing Bone Tomahawk until it wins.

N Mahoney

Grosse Point Blank

Dean Cyphers

I'm ready for princess mononoke, Jimmy. It is time. ALSO, lock stock and two smoking barrels 😁

Jamie Rees

I would say Alexander the director's cut or Kingdom of Heaven for an epic film.

Jamie Rees

Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels or Layer Cake for a humorous caper film.

David
>>54788966

I second KoH directors cut, but please god not Alexander.

David

It's an oldie, but Dragonheart 1996. Kind of a classic.

Robert Kruger

Gattaca Contact Weird Science Better Off Dead Heavy Metal - You WILL enjoy the hell out of this. Touching the Void Alive

Michal Nielsen

Legends of the Fall (a decent 1990's epic with Anthony Hopkins and brad pitt) Broken flowers with Bill Murray or perhaps a love song for bobby long (Scarlett Johannsen and Travolta)

Jamie Rees

Mean Girls or Bowfinger for comedy film. They are both reactions I am fascinated to see.

Garmonbozia93

Airplane (1980) Groundhog Day The Naked Gun Amadeus

I'm surprised ppl ask for Princess Mononoke over Grave of the Fireflies. Both are worth reacting to though.

I’ve suggested layer cake a couple of time but it never got traction. Here’s hoping this is the month it makes the list!

Light Yagami

I’m super late but the Bourne trilogy. I didn’t see it on your list so I’m going to assume you haven’t seen them. Incredible thriller/action/mystery trilogy based on the books starring Matt Damon. So the order you’d watch them in is: Bourne identity, Bourne supremacy (I think?), Bourne ultimatum

Brian Darty

Existenz-Jude Law,jennifer jason leigh Hostiles-Christian Bale Gone baby gone-Casey Affleck,Morgan Freeman Ransom-Mel Gibson

N Mahoney

Gattaca-one of the greatest sci-fi films in my opinion. From Dusk Till Dawn-and if you can-DO NOT look up what it is about going in, and just enoy the ride

Jed U

A lot late but think you'd enjoy the new Plant of the Apes trilogy (Rise, Dawn, and War). All good to great films. And 2 of them (the best 2) are directed by Matt Reeves (new Batman movie)

Joseph LeRoy

Lone Survivour Deepwater Horizon Patriots Day American Sniper The Old Guard The Town

Just thought of these, and I bet you have seen them: Office Space Idiocracy
