Well if Nibbler was there at Advanced Cryogenics on New Years Eve 1999 it not a stretch that he may have visited Fry's timeline. He needed to make sure he stayed on course to eventually defeat the Brain Spawn.

Everything was going fine until Morgan opened Fry's tube too soon. She doomed the universe to destruction by brain! Doooooooomed!

Now Lord Nibbler will have to resort to the backup plan to save the universe. Fry will have to insure his own future success by changing the past. Again. But, wait. He can't return to 1947 when he hasn't been there yet. If he returned to 1974 he might prevent his parent's from ever meeting!
