Big Thaw: An update looms (Patreon)

Had I not found yet another show stopper bug in that fucking game engine it would be released already. The good news is I figured out how the text boxes were ending up behind the characters (Something the developer still insists is impossible). The bad news is every scene needs major work to prevent it from happening.

What that means for you guys is longer wait and less apparent progress as I have to comb through miles of code weeding out the culprit function. At least now I know what I'm looking for.

I've also discovered that playing at anything but native resolution causes the engine to confuse layers too. It doesn't even need any function to trigger that one. Just blammo the text layer is behind shit or the background is on top of everything.

I really chose the shittiest engine. Next time I stick to free-ware. If you you have to pay for software it pretty much a guarantees it will be shit. That's really sad cuz I used to be a software product manager. What we made wasn't shit or it didn't used to be anyway.
