the way i've been waiting for you and Ashley's reactions because i KNEW they would GIVE!!! this was so amazing and i'm so happy you reacted to it! so for some context: "chihiro" (you pronounced it correctly btw!) is the main character from the studio ghibli film "spirited away" and it's one of billie's favorite movies, so the lyrics in that song are a lot of references to the movie and what chihiro goes through in the story "wildflower" is (rumored) to be about her ex and his prior relationship, specifically about his previous girlfriend devon because she and billie are friends (also "wildflower" is the name of one of devon's companies too) "l'amour de ma vie" is literally translated to 'love of my life' so that's where those lyrics come from! "the diner" is (rumored) to be written from the POV of billie's stalker, not necessarily from her actual point of view (but again it's all rumored, so who knows for sure) the last few seconds of "bittersuite" and "blue" are a mix of two unreleased billie songs. the first is 'true blue' which was made when she was 14 and she only ever played it at live shows but never fully released it, and the second half of the song is 'born blue' that she wrote years later. she and finneas never found a way to make either song work properly to release them, but came back to them later and found a way to turn them into one track – which is why it's just called "blue" ALSO you have no idea how much i actually YELLED when you tested the levels with "ilomilo" because there's an entire fan idea called the 'ilomilo theory' that this album is going to be a double album where one side is blue and the other is red — which are the colors of the characters in the ilomilo game that billie named the song after, which would make the whole "but when can i hear the next one?" at the end of the album even more insane if that actually happens ANYWAYS i loved this video so much, i can't wait until the full drops on youtube 💙
