Tbh, there is something about Gon that is quite scary and I can see Killua being intrigued by it. He says he wants to be friends with Gon and live a normal life, and I don’t doubt it but I think the part of Gon that is scary is what is interesting to him.

Loving your reaction so far 🥹 In regards to some of the chatters, I think personally I don’t find Killua to be insecure here nor do I think he’s plotting anything against Gon, I think he’s just forming thoughts and opinions based off his training and experience alone.. like how come someone who may not be as technically skilled as he is seen as having more potential? Especially when his whole family is hyping him up to be potentially the greatest assassin out of all current living generations of family members (of course this is for the position of an assassin but still).. so him seeing someone like Gon still win against Hanzo (who objectively should have won based on skill and experience) is baffling for him.. I think it’s more of him reflecting internally and finding out in real time that skill/experience alone does not guarantee you will win or have leverage 100% of the time despite it making sense that it would or should. Basically I think all of Kil’s internal monologue here is from Gon lowkey short circuiting his brain (in a good way tho bc the questioning could lead to some needed personal introspection) but then Illumi messes him up more with all his BS 😒 Also he’s 12 so even if he was insecure in this moment and treating it as a personal failure that Gon is seen as having more potential than he himself is.. eh, he IS a child. As cool and technically skilled as he is :)
