Coasters for Salut! 10 - final and process pics (Patreon)
Content
Hi Patrons,
Here are my coasters in their finished states for the Nucleus Portland show! I am pleased with how they turned out..
You may recall the sketches I posted earlier, I printed them out to scale and transferred them onto my coasters as seen here. I use graphite transfer paper.
I personally like to have a VERY final version of sketches when I do work for shows like this. I don't leave very much up to interpretation. And when I inked them, I referred back to my reference for the motorcycle one just due to its immense detail which I am very unfamiliar with.
I usually do the color next, before the inking. But since I was doing alcohol markers, they can very easily go on top of ink without bleeding since they have different bases. I would recommend doing tests with all your materials first, of course.
This is them after inking. This picture was taken in the night so I apologize for that. I used a Pigma fb brush pen for this. I like them when I want to do detail with just a bit of pizzaz.
Then I colored on top! I wanted to have them all to have a different overall color, motocat is blue, skateboard bear is orange, and bicyclist is pink. I colored them normally first and then went over all of it again with that main color. Sorta like a wash. This is what I always like to do with copic/alcohol markers.
That's all!
Salut! 10 will take place at the Nucleus Portland location (I typically do shows with Gallery Nucleus in SoCal) on June 8th! All coasters (likely hundreds??) will be available to purchase then, online too I think the next day!
