Hello everyone sorry for my absence I have been very busy. I will post in rapid succession now.

This is my latest drawing of a person in grass, inspired by an older drawing of a person in grass from a while ago (photo 3). When I first drew the person I was like geez another drawing of a person this is sickening and then I was like you know what? Let’s put them in grass. So I did for gods sake!

I do not know how to draw or what to draw anymore. This one I was like I am going to act up and draw lineart. Call me crazy! And then I did that! I forgot how to draw lineart. It was very disheartening. This is like a blast from the past really. But its more refined… my two worlds colliding. The hands are very silly. They are so thick and less lanky than usual. And so hamly rendered. Look like meat! I like them. If you compare the old grass to the new, there is much more dimensionality. I employed a lot of effort and energy doing this. I hope you enjoy. As it expands backward, the grass gets less detailed. That is not lazy, that is intentional artistry. I dont need you looking back there.

Also, in my preliminary stages (photo 2), you can see there was initially all short grass and then one tall flower. In my final version, there is an abundance of taller grasses in the foreground. It was needed detail and frankly cover-up. I need as much attention taken away from those legs as possible. She or they are very wonky. But hopefully tasteful. I also struggled to make the grass and the subject harmonious and also not meld nastily together. Let me know how I have done.

Have a good day!

something about the little explosion shapes tickles my brain so much. i think it’s the transparent almost neon red. i’ve been using a lot of those shapes in my own work - i call it my “explosion era.” i want to lay in that grass it looks soft.

we LOVE explosions. They give nothing in terms of like importance but they are so intriguing to look at…
