the last of us inspired DRAW (wip) and sketchy (Patreon)

Whaddup gamers and lovers of fungi. Or those who fear it. Hold on let me find that one meme.

I sorta feel like being able to recall very specific memes is a new avant-garde variation of like a connoisseur of the arts. Like seeing a drawing or a movie scene and being like oh this is clearly inspired or derivative of this other film or artwork. Having this vast library of memery in my mind from decades ago.

Anyways so yea I have been watching The Last of Us on hbo and yea it slays. I knew in my heart that this one would succeed. Also, I was thinking... Naughty Dog made Uncharted AND Last of Us. The Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland (first mistake) was the absolute worst live action adaptation to ever walk the earth. Not only was it an atrocious adaptation, but as a movie period it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. NOW they make Last of Us one of the best adaptations I have ever seen. It's impressive the sheer variation in quality.

It is so good and so clearly I am having a moment about it. I seem to always be replaying one of the tlou games also like it is a constant in my life, I am replaying the first one for my sister even though I just played it!! I am obsessed with the concept of father daughter in the apocalypse. I like to draw Joel and Ellie as just generally scruffy man and young spunky girl. I have never been drawn to drawing a character as a trope before... weird. I have no desire to portray either of them as they are.

To finally get to the point, I am drawing an "interpretation" of the scene where Ellie kills that feller in the basement. She really has to stop sneaking into sneaky places. Unacceptable. It is very VERY rough.  I imagine it will be vastly different once it's finished. I like to show you guys how wildly different they look at the beginning. I also think you guys should know that I always love how my sketches look but then when I "finish" a drawing I look back at the sketch and I'm like that's simply terrible. Like the effort pays off. Thought you'd be interested to know that.
