Here is my Pedro (peepoo, amongst friends and family) Pascal drawing in all of its high-definition glory. I very much enjoyed drawing this. Fun little activity for myself! If you can believe it, the reference is indeed from a PP (peepoo) fancam. You can find quite a lot of good references there if you can find it in your heart to believe it. I like that I can be scrolling on tiktok and then just find a reference like this. To me, its the equivalent of a business expense. I don’t know what this reference is FROM, as in its origins. It is not Joel which frankly is what I would prefer but a beggar cant be a chooser as they say. But I am no beggar.

I enwidened him to age him I guess in my unconscious mind. It was one of those moments where a perfect replica of a reference just doesn’t vibe as hard as a semi wonked-out rendition. Any artists in the chat that can agree? When they say tracing a reference is no good this is what they mean. And I am not joking this time when I say that. There is a human touch to effing up a drawing from reference that can’t be replicated through a more technical process. The artist’s hand, if you will. It is real. So if your drawing is not exactly like the reference, imagine me patting you on the shoulder and saying, “great job, champ!” I decided that Pedro’s eyes needed to be more bigger more brown and his cheek needed to be thicker. And those minute details are what brought a hoard of peepo lovers to my Christian Blog that fateful Valentine’s day. Lots of thirst for this drawing, unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed. Didn’t know what to do about it.

Anyways. I am proud of my lighting and saturation in this drawing. Excellent highlight excellent shadow down the whole middle of the face. Interesting to have either side be in its own special lighting it was a new experience for me. I can’t say I was doing bounce light in this drawing because I simply don’t know if it was but I think I might hate bounce lighting. Can nothing ever just be simple.? I think there is no bounce light on the moon??? There’s like no atmosphere for light to be bouncing within. Thoughts? But when there is moonlight on earth is that bounce light? I don’t like it conceptually and it seems hard to replicate in a drawing. Too subtle. Just be there or don’t.

Anyways. It is a nice drawing. I am showing you some of my progress shots as well as if to say, “endure.” Keep drawing folks look how far a drawing can come…. Incredible! Could be you! Hated drawing the clothing on this one. Took some tremendous artistic liberties there. Don’t want to spend all this time on clothes just for them to be so good and realistic that it takes away from the man’s face anyways.
