VERY LATE TOTK: Final + Process (Patreon)

HI! New Patreon update, everything is sleek.

This is my drawing yeah. Here is the ref, maybe that is a good way to start this off.

This is just a mega cool image. I was just gonna draw this like as a study of sorts but something came over me or I forgot or something along those lines. I think oh yeah It was just not good. The way the game is cell shaded just wasn't gonna be good for me idk not for my skillset. There simply is not enough for me in this screenshot I guess idk I just changed my mind lets say that.

I wanted to draw them certainly in more exposure and I didn't like their positioning. It's somehow too much and not enough at the same time. And so I came up with this sort of arrangement instead. This is when I got it down roughly:

As I always do I was gonna put them in the void or perhaps a darker colored background (you will see again in the next pic) but ultimately ended with a blue sky because its beautiful, the contrast is good, it makes sense for the story for the Demon Dragon to be dying and for the sky to be good color once more, etc etc. 

Then I began to color them. I used a soft edged brush at first and it was messy but just to get the colors all where they needed to go. I knew I wanted it to be a more 3D-rendered drawing so I focused mostly on just making an area of shadow and an area of light. I didn't think very much beyond that, and used a variation of the colors that were in the ref.

Here is a progress pic on a dark background, I liked how the glow of the stone on his head was reflecting around him and in the sky. Its lost a bit more in the blue background but thats alright.

I will color super messy like that and then for cleaning up I draw on top of all the layers with a much sharper brush and define the edges of everything better. The soft film-grainy feel is lost but that isn't even my area of expertise or what I was going for so its all good!

I drew little link in like 2 minutes he was gonna be so small nobody needed him in detail.
