Hello to all our wonderful amazing patrons! Just a really brief update this time around, gonna try to keep it short & simple.

This isn't news to anyone but our output's been way down this past year compared to previous years. We've gone from a chapter every single day to like, struggling to hit 3 a week. Gonna try & maintain that going into 2025, with chapters hitting patreon on a Monday / Wednesday / Friday schedule.

And we're hoping to resume that regular schedule starting this coming Monday, Dec 30th. We have a brand new story in a brand new setting just about ready to go. We haven't quite finished writing it yet, but it ought to be another 'full length' (30-chapter) story.

In addition we've still working on our commission stories, and huge huge thanks to Meg, Lucy, Cammie, and Aster&Yuki for making those possible!!!

Beyond that we've still got loads of irons in the fire (aka a huge pile of unfinished projects lol). In no particular order here's what we've got on our back-burner right now: Pink Gold 2; Fox(girl)ificated 2; Witches of Welland 7; Daughters of Demeter 7; another (short) MALverse installment; another (longer) MALverse installment; and at least one more brand new story that will probably be in its own new setting.

Unfortunately none of those have any kind of ETA. We're doing the best we can but all the stresses & health issues that have been plaguing us for the past 12-18 months are still there, with no sign of things improving yet. Best we can say is our current plan is as soon as we've finished writing the thing we're working on now, we're hoping to tackle the (short) MALverse installment.

Thanks again to every single one of you for your ongoing support. We couldn't do any of this without all of you! Wishing you all the best for 2025, trying to think positive thots that it won't be as dire as it seems.

This makes me so excited for 2025! :D And thank you so, so much for your wonderful stories up to here <3 I think, a Mo-We-Fr schedule is already hecking impressive in regards to chapter output. And for me as a reader, it brings so much joy over the course of a week. But, even if you are already sick of getthing this particular kind of remark, I still want to urge you: Pleeeease don't burn yourself out. Taking a break is fine and healthy. Everyone needs a couple weeks off of work per year and a day or two per week.

purplecatgirl

thank you!! and don't worry, we're definitely not sick of being told we need to take breaks now & then, because we easily forget. so used to not taking breaks that we first thought you'd written 'everyone needs a couple days off per year' & that sounded totally normal & reasonable to us... a couple _weeks_ off seems completely decadent & unrealistic, compared to what we're used to~

think positive thoughts... trying to very hard. BTW, I think I have commented on this before, and I think it needs to be said. The rate you were going when I discovered you 5 years ago was insane. I have no idea how many books in total you could probably publish on amazon if you were to go through that process, but I think you would end up with more books than Steven King in no time. Which is to say the only famous author who writes quality stories at anywhere near the same pace as you is Steven King. So, if you slow down, you are still out stripping other authors I support by a mile. Please do what's best for your health first, because you have more than enough books and stories to keep me reading for a long time still with what you have put out already. With love Rachel.

Maybe I am too used to having 30 paid vacation days at my disposal. Plus national and regional holidays. I could probably do with less, but law-makers and even corpos recognize that employees work a lot more efficient and bring in more profit in the long run when we can get away from work and away from even thinking about work regularly. There are even rules that some of those vacation days must by taken in two consecutive weeks. It helps us to recuperate energies, gives us time to take care of shit at home and in our families, it's healthy, it's ... profitable even. That's why our team leaders and project managers and whatnot keep bugging us to book our vacation days and then actually take them. *** edit: This is not meant as bragging. I just see a lot of friends and people important to me suffering under working conditions that borderline slavery or at least serfdom. And it makes me sad and angry and I want to kick their CEOs' teeth out because arrgh

You are amazing. Your production is astounding. I can’t even remember everything in the MAL verse. Bringing the key folk together at one table was a reminder of how expansive even just one world is, and there are many.

they do have rules about holday time here, but idk what they are. and they dont apply when you're self-employed. or when you're working for your parents / family business. our dad's the one who 'taught' us that if we're not being productive we're not useful :( anyways we've actually been trying to go easier on ourself lately, hence the pause between the end of RSS and the new thing coming next week~

purplecatgirl

thank you!! the funny thing is we never set out to write so much, we never meant to be so productive or anything. we just really really enjoy writing, & were lucky to have the opportunity to spend so much time doing it. thats actually one of the most frustrating things about the lack of writing lately, is we still really enjoy it & we hate not being able to do as much of it as we used to

purplecatgirl

thankyou!! we sometimes feel the same, looking back at all the different stories & characters & how much stuff we've covered & can't believe it's been so much. or that we've been doing it for so long!

Thanks for the update! Please continue to find your best, *sustainable* pace of work (and workflow), and treat yourself gently..
