We know some folks enjoy reading these, so here's the minutes from a few staff meetins we had with the cast of "The Laptop" while we were writing book 1.

please note these minutes do contain spoilers for book 1, so if you haven't read that yet we do suggest you read the story prior to these notes.

"The Laptop" Story Staff Meeting Minutes
2024 Nov 20 - (after writing ch.13)
attendees: viola, Lisa, Chelsea, Gwyneth

viola: Ok so you all know why we're here right? We need to get the story back on track, get us all on the same page wrt plot and stuff. You all know where i want to take the story right? That plot stuff i had planned out?

Lisa: Yeah but it feels like you don't know where it's going after that. Like you've got a plot point you want to happen, but you don't have any plans for what comes next.

viola: Ouch. Also, accurate.

Chelsea: You all know what I want.

viola: More sex scenes?

Chelsea: (giggles) Ok that too, but that's not what I was referring to.

Chelsea: (serious voice) I want revenge on my asshole father. Especially after that last detail you added to his metadata.

viola: You're not supposed to know about that yet.

Chelsea: Whatever. When I do find out about it I'm going to be pissed. So's Lisa.

Lisa: Wait what are you two talking about?

Chelsea: My dad's even worse than we both thought.

viola: Let's leave it at that for now ok? That was just a note, idk if it'll actually become part of the story or the backstory or whatever.

Chelsea: All I'm saying is I already want revenge on the guy ok? He's a selfish abusive misogynist, he fucked up my life and he tormented Lisa, made her life hell too. The man deserves to suffer & with that reality bending laptop we can make it happen.

Lisa: I already said I don't want to do that, I don't want to be evil or do evil things.

Chelsea: Then just leave it with me for fifteen minutes. Go watch a movie or play a game with Gwen, you won't even have to know what happens.

Lisa: That doesn't make it any better. I don't want that power to be used for evil.

Chelsea: You'll change your mind when you find out that backstory thing viola was talking about.

Lisa: Why, what is it?

viola: i said -

Chelsea: Let's just say it's not that surprising when you stop and think about it? I mean c'mon Lisa, you're a smart girl. My dad's a violent abusive selfish misogynist. He's also a two-time widower. Do you really think those things are just a coincidence?

Lisa: What?!

viola: Seriously please let's just move on. That's not canon yet, it's just a note that may or may not become part of the story.

Lisa: (looks shocked and upset)

viola: Let's change the subject a little ok? Gwen you've been quiet this whole time, do you have anything to add? Anything you'd like to see happen, or not happen?

Gwyneth: I don't know? I get what Lisa's saying about not wanting to do the evil stuff. And I know you said that was one of your goals for the story, to avoid any nonconsensual stuff. But I guess I'm kind of on Chelsea's side with this? Her dad hasn't done anything to me, but I know he made Lisa's life hell. And it sounds like he was just as bad to Chelsea too. And I know what it's like to have hurtful parents. Mine haven't been that abusive physically, but if they find out I'm trans then that'll definitely change. They're outspoken bigots, queermisic & transmisic.

Gwyneth: (pauses, shrugs) I guess what I'm saying is, if we can't find a peaceful safe solution like Lisa wants, then I'd be on board for something more like what Chelsea's suggested.

viola: (sighs) Ok, it feels like Lisa and i are on the same page wrt that topic while Gwen & Chelsea want to be a little more proactive with the laptop.

Chelsea: I'm not just pro-revenge, I can think of lots of fun sexy ways to use it too. Seriously, I keep getting more and more ideas.

Lisa: Yeah I think you're cut off Chels. You almost crossed a line last time, and it feels like you keep wanting to escalate every time you get near it.

Chelsea: (pouts)

viola: It feels like all three of you want this story to be more about the smut and less about any plot stuff.

Chelsea: (grinning) Sounds good to me!

Gwyneth: (smiling, blushing) I mean, I wouldn't be opposed. If Lisa and Chels are into that.

Lisa: (blushing, grimacing) It's fun, but maybe some plot would be good? That's your job though, you need to figure that out.

viola: Easy for you to say. And it doesn't work unless all three of you cooperate with me. If i come up with a storyline but you refuse to follow it then it just makes us all frustrated. That's why we're here, remember? To talk this out, see if you all have any input or ideas. You know what i wanted to do with the plot, do you have any specific ideas or comments or suggestions on that plan? anything you'd like to see or do?

(All three of them look thoughtful as they consider it, some looks are exchanged between them)

Gwyneth: I don't have any opinions on the world hopping stuff? The realms thing sounds ok, once we all get over the shock. The only thing I really want to happen is for Lisa to unlock all the hidden options on the editor, so I can be the elven character I wanted from the start. Gwyneth the Grey, elven mage maid. Or maid mage. Or just maid, as long as I get to be my elven character

Chelsea: Ooh what other species are there? Anything cute?

viola: i mean, the possibilities are kind of endless? If it's completely unlocked then Lisa can probably come up with anything you want.

Lisa: (warily) What are you thinking now Chelsea? You've already changed yourself so much...

Chelsea: I don't know, I just wanna be cuter. Maybe smaller? Small, cute, cuddly. Oh!

Chelsea: (excited look in her eyes) Could I be your pet? Do you like cats? I could be your pet catgirl, you could be my owner!

Lisa: (facepalms)

Chelsea: (still excited) Imagine me curled up on your lap purring while you stroke my hair or scritch my ears! Better still, imagine how nice it'll feel when I use my long textured kitty tongue to -

Lisa: (blushing) Omg please stop! We're in a meeting here!

Chelsea: (giggles)

viola: Ok so Gwen & Chelsea don't seem to care much about the plot, apart from seeing Lisa's knowledge of the laptop advance so she can unlock other features. Lisa what do you think?

Lisa: (deep breath, big sigh) I don't know? I'm having trouble figuring out how I'm supposed to go from a shy traumatized egg to some kind of all-powerful sysadmin who's comfortable with her best friend turning into her sexy elven maid, and the evil Chelsea becoming her sexy catgirl pet? How am I supposed to have the confidence to do any of this stuff? Or how do I deal with it as it happens all around me? I'm going to need that identity crisis, aren't I? I have to be torn down so I can put myself back together again. Maybe I need to find out about that backstory detail. Combine that with the realm stuff? It'll suck but maybe that'll give me the confidence to use the laptop more?

viola: As long as you don't lose your sense of compassion.

Lisa: Yeah no I don't want to become evil or heartless. But something needs to change so I grow a bit. I've been kind of passive so far? Or at least I started out that way, there's been a few improvements I guess. I don't know, you're the one who has to figure out how to do it & make it believable. I'm just throwing out some ideas like you asked.

viola: Right, thanks. So does that mean we're on track for the plot stuff again?

Lisa: I guess. You still need to decide what happens after those big reveals.

Chelsea: (smiles) I'm good for whatever, as long as I can be Lisa's cute sexy catgirl pet.

Gwyneth: Yeah, I'm good if I get my elven body. I'm already enjoying all the other fun sexy stuff.

Lisa: One other thing, I think it'd be nice of Gwen & Chels had some relationship stuff between them? I know they're both into the harem thing but I'd rather have all three of us together as a group instead of them both just being with me.

Gwyneth: Yeah of course.

Chelsea: Sure, I can be Gwen's pet kitty as much as Lisa's.

Lisa: (rolls her eyes)

viola: Ok i'll try and make sure that happens. So last question, where do we go from here? We've just finished ch.13, Lisa's catered to both Gwen's and Chelsea's kinks. Maybe more plot stuff now?

Chelsea: Aww.

Gwyneth: I mean...

Lisa: I don't know? Maybe we should stop for lunch, then try figuring things out from there? We can do plot stuff after we've had a bite to eat.

viola: i guess. Ok well thanks for the meeting. If things grind to a halt again i'll call you all back for another chat.

"The Laptop" Story Staff Meeting Minutes
2024 Dec 19 - (after writing ch.20)
attendees: viola, Lisa, Chelsea, Gwyneth

viola: Hey everyone, thanks for coming back! i'm sure you can tell things haven't gone smoothly, considering it's been a month and we've only progressed 7 chapters. So here's what we've got planned, in bullet point form:

- Confrontation with Gwen's parents on Sunday. idk yet how it'll play out or how it'll end, but it won't be fun.
- Going back to classes on Monday. idk yet how it'll go with classmates & profs etc, we'll have to see how it plays out.
- Talking to Frank about the laptop. i have 2 conflicting ideas about where the laptop came from and how Frank ended up with it. We'll have to wait and see which idea plays out.
(Note: turns out neither idea played out, mystery 3rd option ftw)
- World hopping / realm stuff? Probably going to end the book on that. Not necessarily a full ending, maybe more of a jump-off point for a sequel.
- Somewhere along the way, Lisa will probably read more of the documentation. She'll be looking for a way to keep the 3 of them safe.

viola: So that's what's on the docket folks. We have 10 chapters ahead of us, how do we all feel about these points? Any ideas, suggestions, concerns, comments?

Gwyneth: I'm really not looking forward to the stuff with my parents.

Lisa: Like I said before Gwen, you've always got a place here. You don't even have to go home at all if you don't want.

Gwyneth: I'd like to get all my stuff, assuming my parents haven't already trashed everything. And they know I'm at your place, there's a chance they'll come here looking for me. Do we have any way of dealing with them if they do that? Like what if my dad shows up and wants to pick a fight or gets physically abusive? None of us are strong enough to have much chance of stopping him.

Lisa: (sighs) I don't know yet. First thing in the morning I'll have a look at the laptop again, and see if I can find something about security or safety.

Gwyneth: Even if we survive my parents we've still got classes on Monday.

Lisa: Yeah. That'll be interesting, but I doubt we'll be in any danger at school. Well, you and I shouldn't be. I'm worried about Chelsea though. You've changed so much, you're so much smaller, and with the ears and tail people are going to freak out.

Chelsea: Maybe, but I don't think I'll be in any danger. Ok maybe there's some sports rivals who don't like me, but I'm no threat to them now. I'm certainly not going to be competing with anyone for any trophies or medals anymore.

Lisa: (sighs again) Yeah I'm definitely going to be looking into safety and security stuff on the laptop tomorrow morning. There must be a way to make sure all three of us are safe, just in case.

viola: ok i just added that to the list. Check the laptop and documentation for some personal protection options. Anything else?

Lisa: I'm really curious to see how it goes with Frank on Monday. You said you have an answer as to where the laptop came from, and I want to know what it is. That thing's too powerful, too special for someone to just pawn it off as a second-hand computer.

Gwyneth: I bet there's an interesting story behind that.

Lisa: Yeah.

Chelsea: So we're going to take the entire 30-chapter book to get through one weekend? You said you wanted to end the story after that, right?

viola: Yeah i guess it'll be a little over 72 hours in total? From Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon, or Monday evening maybe? Like i said we have 10 chapters left. i figure it'll take a couple to deal with Gwen's parents, and whatever else you three do on Sunday? Lisa's going to be working with the laptop again.

Gwyneth: (rolls eyes) I'll probably be doing more laundry.

Chelsea: (smiles) And I can lounge around looking cute again. Or do some studying or whatever, we'll see.

viola: Then Monday will probably be a chapter or two at college, then at least another chapter dealing with Frank. Maybe one final chapter with the three of you back home at the end of the day, setting up a possible sequel?

Lisa: Ok.

Gwyneth: Sounds good.

Chelsea: Yeah.

viola: Alright, thanks for coming out!

2025 Jan 09 - (after writing ch.29)
attendees: viola, Lisa, Chelsea, Gwyneth

viola: Just touching base for some quick questions. So you've spoken with Frank about the laptop and he's told you about Annie. Are you still going grocery shopping?

Lisa: I really don't feel like buying groceries right now. I know its necessary but I've got too much on my mind.

Chelsea: I get it sis. We can hit a drive thru on the way home if you want? Or just order something in if you're not hungry yet.

Lisa: I'm not hungry right now, but if you two want drive thru thats fine.

Gwyneth: Nah I'm good

viola: Ok what about buying a new laptop and phone for Chelsea?

Chelsea: I kind of need something.

Lisa: Do you still have the broken ones? I can probably fix them with the laptop. Unless you want new stuff, then we'll go buy new ones.

Chelsea: If you can fix the old ones then that's fine.

viola: What about the Annie stuff?

Lisa: (sighs): I'll have to look for that messaging app Frank mentioned. I didn't see it when I went through everything on there the other day, but it probably isn't called 'messenger' or 'email' or anything obvious. And I guess I'll have another look for any other subtle clues or hints.

viola: Sounds good. i guess that covers everything. Btw we're not wrapping this up in 30 chapters after all, you probably already guessed that. Aiming for 32 now.
