Violet: Hey girls, I'm guessing you've already seen these headlines?

Peri: It's all over social media too. We may not have seen any civilians around last night, but they were definitely watching us. There's at least a dozen video clips, and probably a hundred pictures.
Peri: They even got some dark fuzzy shots of me and Onyx on the roof, when I nailed that flying Outsider.

Violet: I saw. There was also a pretty good clip of Rosa and her halberd, finishing the thing off after it hit the ground.
Violet: They also got a clip of you and Onyx vanishing off the barn roof and appearing on the ground next to Rosa.
Violet: That's probably not great info to go public? Nothing we can do about it now though.

Peri: Yep. All those pictures and videos are making the rounds today. Public speculation is even worse than the stuff they're spewing on the news sites.
Peri: "We're marketing a new all-girl superhero action movie." "We're an all-girl pop band." "We had nothing to do with the attacks, wrong place wrong time." /s :roll-eyes:
Peri: According to other stories, "We were behind the monster attacks, it was a stunt gone wrong." Or "We're behind the attacks but we did it on purpose." "We're guilty of murder and need to be locked up." /s :roll-eyes: :angry:

Violet: It'd be almost funny, if it wasn't so depressing.

Onyx: There's a conspiracy website with pictures and info from the 1950's. It was pretty niche until last night, but some folks made the connection and now that's blowing up on social media too.
Onyx: Now folks are comparing photos of the seven of us from last night against pictures of the original magical girls from back then.
Onyx: Obviously you all look different from the originals, but same outfits and same weapons. And some folks are making a big deal about how me and Ruby are new, we weren't part of the original team.

Violet: No shit? Do you have the link? I've never seen the site you're talking about, but you've got me curious.

Onyx: There's also the same stupid speculation, like last night was all a marketing stunt gone wrong. Like maybe the original magical girls were part of some movie production that never got released, now some producer's doing a modern remake or whatever.

Peri: Omg that site looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1990's.

Onyx: Ikr? Hard to take it seriously, but if you ignore the aesthetic the info is pretty accurate. I think. And there's some decent photos too.

Violet: Who set this website up? Ignoring what it looks like, they've got all the legit info. This has to be someone who was there, right? Pictures, info, everything. Can we find out who's behind this?

Peri: It might be possible to track down the domain owner. I'll see what I can find.

Ruby: Back on the subject of last night's attack. I've been looking into the various news reports. The authorities obviously don't know anything about Outsiders, but it sounds like they're trying to understand what actually happened.
Ruby: Should we tell them? Like is there anything they can do? I mean to prepare incase it happens again.

Azura: Absolutely not. This goes for all of you. Do not contact the authorities, do not volunteer any information.

Onyx: Why not? Didn't the magical girls work with the Americans back in the fifties?

Azura: Eventually, but it took months or years to reach that point. Before that, they did their best to arrest and detain our predecessors.
Azura: Do not let yourselves get caught, and especially do not expose yourselves. Don't let them know your civilian identities, under any circumstances.

Ruby: Hey Azura, how's Lily doing? You're still with her, right?

Azura: As you said, Lily is weak from her injuries. She is resting right now but otherwise she seems to be ok.
Azura: I'm not sure how soon she will be ready to return to action though. So let us hope there are no more Outsider attacks.

Peri: Hate to jinx things, but I find it hard to believe there was just the two of them.

Onyx: Same. Cel said the darkness was diffused, right? That makes me think there's probably more, but maybe they're spread out?

Violet: Even if Lily's out of commission I'm sure the rest of us can handle the next attack.

Rosa: I just hope if there is a next attack it doesn't come any time soon.
Rosa: But in the meantime there's something else I think we need to look into. Onyx and Ruby and I have some more information about the situation in Saskatoon.
Rosa: There's now five missing people there, and all of them had close ties to Judith.
Rosa: Tina and Glen, the two students we saved from being sacrificed up north. Zayne and Sasha, two more students in Judith's high energy physics course. And my aunt Leslie. According to my mom, she hasn't heard from Leslie since last week and she's getting worried.

Onyx: Actually I have an update to that. The number might actually be six people missing.

Rosa: Oh no. What happened? Another student?

Onyx: He works for the university, he was part of Judith's Camp Hazen expedition. He wasn't there at the camp though, he was their expedition manager? Guy named Oleksiy 'Alex' Baran, he stayed behind at a hotel in Resolute. He was supposed to coordinate their supplies and handle their travel arrangements and all that stuff.

Peri: So what happened to him?

Onyx: According to what I read, he made his way back to Saskatoon by the middle of July but never checked in with the university. And it sounds like nobody's seen the guy in the last couple weeks? Which means he might actually be the first one to go missing in all this.

Rosa: That matches the timing of the burglary at Judith's house. Mid July I mean?

Azura: It also aligns with Leslie Williams' arrival there, if I'm not mistaken. It sounds like both the alleged theft and Mr. Baran's alleged disappearance occurred at roughly the same time your aunt got there.

Onyx: Six missing people combined with the burglary sounds like a lot of bad news. Someone out there has access to some of Judith's occult stuff, and with her laptop they've potentially got access to all her notes on dark magic. Maybe even a scan of Jacob's book too.

Rosa: According to my mom, Jacob had spells to let him communicate with Outsiders. There might even be spells to control Outsiders, but we can't confirm that. Whoever stole Judith's laptop could have access to that magic.
Rosa: Combine that with the Outsider attack last night and what Cel said about there being 'diffuse darkness' I think we need to go and investigate.
Rosa: I know all we have right now is circumstantial evidence, but I think the only way we'll know for sure is if we go and follow this lead in person.
Rosa: I guess what I'm asking is, will the rest of the team help out? Or are you treating this as a 'family thing' because Judith was my mom's mother?

Onyx: You already know I'm in.

Ruby: Me too.

Peri: I get what you're saying Rosa. And if you find proof, or you run into Outsiders or any kind of dark magic trouble, then I'll be there for sure.
Peri: But if you don't mind, I'm trying to deal with some personal stuff right now. So I'd rather sit this out, until we know for sure that it's magical girl business.

Azura: I will be staying here with Lily, until she is back on her feet.
Azura: But please do keep the rest of us informed Rosa. If you find the evidence you're looking for, report back immediately.

Violet: I don't have anything else going on right now, so if you three don't mind me being a fourth wheel then I'm happy to join in.
Violet: I guess we just need to coordinate when and where. And I'm hoping Onyx can provide the travel arrangements again? Not gonna lie, travelling that way feels weird. But it sure as hell beats flying.

Onyx: Yeah for sure. We all have personal stuff going on too, so we're trying to figure out a way to work around that.

Rosa: This feels urgent enough that we don't want to put it off too long.

Ruby: Right. Like maybe as early as tomorrow? If we can swing it.

Rosa: Thanks everyone for listening to our concerns. We'll figure out how soon we can do this, then Violet we'll let you know the plan and make the final arrangements.

Violet: Sounds good.

Rosa: Hello everyone. Here's what we've got planned.
Rosa: Onyx and Ruby and I managed to get tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday off work.

Onyx: Violet I'll come and get you tomorrow morning. Or I guess time zones, it'll be early afternoon for you? 9:00 AM our time is 2:00 PM for you I think? I'll text first to confirm.

Violet: Sounds good, I'll be ready. Guess I should pack an overnight bag?

Ruby: We'll probably get a hotel room or something so yeah. Pack some stuff.

Rosa: I doubt we'll be in magical-girl form the whole time anyways. Probably civilian most of the time?

Onyx: Yeah. Magical girl mode will attract way too much attention. That stuff's still blowing up on social media.

Lily: Whatever you do, DO NOT allow anyone to see you transform! If anyone gets pictures or video of that your civilian lives will be over.
Lily: And stay safe. If someone out there is using Williams family dark magic then the situation will be very dangerous.
Lily: I know you think your aunt is a victim Rosa but be careful of her. All of this could be a trap.

Onyx: I don't trust Leslie either. So don't worry, I'll be watching out for any BS like that.

Rosa: Same. She might be my aunt but I don't know her that well. I hope she's not involved but I'm not blindly assuming she's innocent.
Rosa: I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't even fully trust the woman.
