*** Club Luna Book 2, Chapter 82; Thursday December 16th, 2021 ***

=::= Kaylee's PoV =::=

When it seemed like everyone was finished eating Cass and Nina both started tidying up the living-room, while the rest of the gang continued talking. The wolfgirls were discussing the 'permanent clubhouse' idea with Tanya, while Paige and Brooke talked a bit more with Julie about the two fallen angels becoming the club's new sponsors.

I was curious about both those topics, but I was also leery about letting Cass out of my sight again so soon. Considering the last time we were apart she got herself kidnapped and ended up in Brian's clutches, I felt a lot safer staying close to her. So instead of joining in with either of the conversations I got to my feet and gave my girlfriend and her sister a hand with the clean up.

Cass and I were gathering up the leftovers when Nina approached us, and it was pretty obvious there was something on her mind. In a quiet voice she asked, "Cass? When Socha tried to possess you, what happened to her power?"

"From what I know of the way everything was supposed to work," she added softly, "Socha's power should have flowed into the shard along with her consciousness? But you didn't mention that when you were telling us how it happened."

My girlfriend blushed and glanced around the room, but none of the others were listening or paying attention to the three of us. Then she replied just as softly, "Socha's power flowed into me at the same time as her consciousness. And like I said, her consciousness was rejected? But the um, her power kind of stayed behind."

I stopped in my tracks and my eyes widened as it hit me what she was saying. From the expression on Nina's face I could tell the young demon was thinking the same thing I was.

My voice was just above a whisper as I asked my girlfriend, "So does that mean you're...?"

"I'm still me," Cass insisted softly. "But I guess I got something from Socha after all? Like an inheritance maybe?"

She seemed to focus for a moment at that point, there was a look of concentration on her face. I was about to ask what she was doing when I suddenly felt it.

The sensation was similar to but decidedly different from powerful magic, and it was radiating outwards from my girlfriend. It made my skin tingle and my knees weak, while I felt butterflies in my stomach. The only way I could think to describe it was She suddenly had such a strong, powerful presence it was almost overwhelming just being near Her. She didn't look any different, yet somehow She filled me with a sense of awe that almost bordered on fear.

In that moment there was no doubt, no denying the truth She'd just revealed. My shy quiet anxious girlfriend had become a Goddess.

That feeling went on for what seemed like minutes, but in reality it was probably only a second or two before the overwhelming sense of Her presence disappeared and Cass seemed like her normal self again. I let out a quiet sigh as I realized I'd been holding my breath, then took a quick glance around the room.

Everyone was staring at my girlfriend, and they all had the same expression on their faces. Even Nina, even Tanya and Julie. The only person in the house who didn't have an expression of wide-eyed awe on her face was Cass. She was cringing and blushing under all the attention.

It was another few seconds before anyone said a word. Then Melanie broke the silence as she asked nervously, "Hey Cass? What was that? What did you just do?"

"That was..." Paige started to say, before her voice trailed off.

Brooke gulped, "I've never felt anything like that before."

Cass's moms exchanged a worried look, then Tanya spoke up. She sounded equal parts anxious and wary as she asked, "Cass hon? Was that intentional? Do you know what you just did?"

My girlfriend was still blushing and cringing as she nodded, "Yeah. I'm sorry everyone, I didn't think it would be that strong. I only meant to share it with Nina and Kaylee..."

"But what was it?" Melanie asked again.

"That was pure divine power," Julie responded quietly. "That's what it feels like when a God or Goddess wants you to know you're in the presence of the divine."

She added, "Cass honey was that all of it? Or were you holding something back?"

My girlfriend shook her head as her cheeks got even brighter, "That was just a tiny fraction of it."

Hearing that left most of us in shock again. The idea that the nearly-overwhelming sense of power we all felt from her was just a sliver of her true strength was honestly a little frightening. Meanwhile the two fallen angels exchanged another worried look.

Tanya warned, "Please don't ever let out more than you just did, Cass. For that matter it's probably safest if you don't do that again, hon. Revealing your divinity like that is a good way to inspire awe in mortals or put the fear of God in them, but it can also be a beacon to any other gods, angels, or even demons in the area."

"I'm sorry," Cass grimaced. "Like I said, I didn't mean for it to be that strong, I didn't even mean for everyone to notice it. I just wanted to show Kaylee and Nina..."

"It's ok sis," Nina said as she gave my girlfriend a nervous smile. "We should finish tidying up though, right? These leftovers need to get in the fridge."

That finally got the three of us moving again, and it also got us out of the living-room and away from the rest of the gang. As soon as we were in the kitchen I put down the stuff I'd been holding then pulled Cass into a quick hug.

"I can hardly believe it," I smiled at her as I held her close. "My girlfriend is a goddess! I'm actually dating a goddess!"

That got her blushing again. She hugged me back as she mumbled, "I guess? I really don't want to make a big deal out of it though, ok? Like I said before, I'm still just me."

"That's right," I smiled as I hugged her a little tighter. "You're also a demon. My demonic goddess girlfriend!"

Her cheeks got even brighter as she grimaced, "Sorry Kaylee, I'd rather just be Cass. All right? Not a goddess, not a demon, just me."

I pouted a little as we continued holding each other, but I could see she was serious. And I already knew she felt awkward and embarrassed about being part demon, now it was obvious she felt just as uncomfortable that she'd also become an actual literal goddess.

"Ok Cass," I said as I leaned closer and gave her a kiss. "I'm happy you're safe, and it's a huge relief knowing that neither Brian or Socha can ever hurt you again. I'll try not to make a big deal about you becoming a goddess though."

She continued to blush as she kissed me back then responded, "Thanks Kaylee. Me too, I'm glad the whole Brian Socha thing is over. And I really hope everything can just get back to normal now."

Nina reminded us both she was there with us in the kitchen as she commented quietly, "I hate to say it Cass, but mom and mum are probably going to want to have a talk with you at some point? About the goddess stuff I mean."

"Yeah," my girlfriend grimaced again. "I know sis. They're probably going to have a bunch of new divine rules and stuff for me?"

A silly idea crossed my mind and I smiled, "Maybe they'll just give you 'the talk' again? The divine version this time, I mean."

Cass's cheeks stayed pink as she mumbled, "This is why I didn't want everyone to know. I don't want everyone making a fuss about it. I don't want people to start treating me differently."

"I know Cass. Sorry for teasing," I apologized with another quick kiss.

After that the two of us finally let go of each other, so we could finish putting away the leftovers and everything.

Our friends still had plenty of questions for Cass when we rejoined them in the living-room, but once I pointed out how they were making my girlfriend uncomfortable they agreed that their curiosity could wait until another time.

At the risk of a very bad pun, I'll say this: Awesome That's all for now. I'll, um, show myself out.

Kylie the Healer Witch

We really enjoyed this chapter!!! Thank you Viola for writing it and thank you Camille for commissioning it!

It’s a bit weird to read chapters from past Kaylee’s POV because I find myself picturing her as a tiny little fox and I have to remind myself that she didn’t look like that at the time.

Yet Another Martin

I don't think Kaylee being a tiny kitsune would make much of a difference in this chapter. It does make a difference that Kaylee isn't aware (and even Cass isn't fully aware) of Cass/andras plurality. It was a bit weird for me to go back to that state of things.
