I'll answer any questions you had with a few fun facts. - That white cat Digimon Digivolves into that angel woman - The season with Imperialdramon is a direct sequel to the first Digimon - Dukemon is actually voiced by the same elderly woman who voices Goku - Beelzebumon is based off the demon Beelzebub, and is one of the 7 Demon Lords based off the Seven Deadly Sins. He represents the sin of Gluttony - The season with KaiserGreymon, all the kids don't have their own Digimon, but instead have Ancient Spirits of Legendary Hero Digimon that have fought in the ancient past - The season with ShineGreymon, that Agumon can only Digivolve after his human partner punches a Digimon to gain Digisoul, unlike the other two who can just summon their Digisoul - Shoutmon and Arresterdramon are Digimon within the same universe, where Shoutmon is the first main Digimon and Arresterdragmon is the second generation - Appmon are a subspecies of Digimon apparently. Gaimon, Poseidomon, and Hadesmon are all Appmon, but there is a Jupitermon, Neptunemon, and Plutomon that are actual Digimon based off the Roman Pantheon called the Olympos XII (Well, minus Plutomon because technically Pluto/Hades isn't part of Olympus). They are involved in the latest Digimon game, Time Strangers that you reacted to a few weeks back - Digimon Adventures 2020 is obviously a reboot of the original which came out 21 years after - Just to clarify, Gammamon refers to chocolate as Champions. - The death of Digimon can be a little complicated. The body can definitely die, but the soul lives on. The Digimon will eventually be born again starting from an egg, but that's not really explained in the more recent anime. Also that was me who mentioned that Digimon could take any form as long as there is information. Woohoo!

Yes, digimon can die and depending on the series they can be reborn eventually.

As stated before, they started shifting their audience from just kids to teens. And with teens, you gotta be more extra to keep their attention. So lots of shouting and awesome transformation sequences. No different from stuff like Dragonball honestly. And if you were a Mecha fan (which is a genre about giant robots) these later seasons would absolutely stay within your head.

Digimon stories are more darker because most of the time the Digimon aren’t really integrated into human society. They are more like creatures from another dimension and most of the time come into the human world by accident or intentionally to conquer/destroy the world. Unlike Pokémon where the creatures are part of everyday life and live alongside humans. With some exceptions here and there.

Just want to reiterate that the Digimon lore operates on a Multiverse structure like Final Fantasy. It’s more of an anthology of stories instead of being a continuous journey. With some being sequels. So how the way evolution or death in one show may not be exactly the same in another. That being said however, I believe there are 3 constants. 1. Digimon with Tamers gain power through their bonds and emotions. 2. Death is always a possibility as it’s a fight for survival. And Digimon that have died are reincarnated as babies with no memories of their previous lives. 3. The digital world is always separate from the human world. So most of the stories are not just about saving the world, but trying to bridge the gap between Digimon and humans.

Death in Digimon varies depending on the series some they just straight up die some they return to eggs some it's a mix of the two depending on if there core gets damaged or not and there are a few Digimon that have digivolved because they died (of the top of my head never the good ones lol) and yeah there's ones baced of different mythologys the latest game has the Digimon from a group called the Olympus 12 baced on the Roman version of the greek gods

Triedge101

there is no Zuesmon as far as i know but there is a Jupitor-mon the Roman equivalent there is also a group of Digimon known as the Olympic 12 that are based on Roman pantheon (which is basically the Greek pantheon)

I just looked into the shows of the evolutions you liked and what are the odds that both of you picked shows that were negatively received by the fanbase. Ken’s pick was from Xros Wars. Where they deviated from the original Digimon show formula from having a singular partner for each character, to having to get multiple Digimon to fuse them and make more powerful forms. That sounds cool to me, but apparently they relied on this concept too much and didn’t focus on individual character growth. Only a few of the Digimon from the show get added to the games. Beth’s pick is from the infamous Appmon series. It’s a separate series that was supposed to stand on its own within the Digital Multiverse and gain a new young audience. Unfortunately, it didn’t get enough support to warrant an English localization. I believe it just got included in Digimon’s TCG card set this year, which means it’s been 8 years since the last time it was used for marketing. As for games, I don’t think any of the Appmon have been included in Digimon games. Just their own Appmon games, which there were only 3 with non of them being console games. Like most shows that are negatively received though, it does have a small niche fanbase. But like most niche stuff, the lack of support from the company doesn’t really give them hope for a resurgence anytime soon.

By the way, Karn Ex, the man you reacted to for info about the Digimon anime just saw your video and left some comments. Looks like he agrees that the anime video was not a good place to start for newcomers.

Kret

I have to say karn Ex is quite good at checking out people who are reacting to his vids I have seen him commenting on quite a few even some very small creators

Unfortunately appmon really split the fandom for a bit at least the bit I was hanging out in some really liked it some hated it quite a few a bit too much personally I was neutral on it I didn't mind but preferred the more bog standard digivolution with the occasional extra thrown in tbh the only one I didn't like was the one with the spirits because I wasn't a fan of them not having partners

BNutt18

Damn. Kinda wished they watch the dub. Cooler music imo

Nice that they at least are reincarnated. Sad they don’t have any memory of their previous lives, but still nice that they live again.
