I'll definitely bring up the most obvious thing from these 2 episodes, Dustin and Steve's conversation, it's clear at this point that they're attacking each other and both have a point, yes Dustin is right about that, Eddie WAS Dustin's only friend when Mike left California and yes Steve is right about that, Dustin has pushed the others aside and picked another fight even though he should have focused on just one, but Steve went too far at that point when he brought up why he's alive and not Eddie The one other thing I can give Steve credit for is that when Dustin attacked him, he DIDN’T hit back!! but made sure that dustin wouldn't hurt him or himself as for Eddie death ?? to be honest I don't think there's a simple answer to that

2026-10-27 15:00 Episode 4: Yeah, I agree with you guys that “Sorcerer” is one of the best episodes of the season and series, and not even because of the ending – the whole episode had multiple important plotlines running at once with terrific/inventive cuts between them, along with some really relevant character development. I’m glad you guys loved it so much! Just hitting on a number of points: Hey, I told you guys not to rag on “Dipshit Derek”! Because he is now “DELIGHTFUL Derek” (reserving his dipshittery for when it is truly needed, lol). It's the fact that Derek is so good at being a pain in the ass that makes him so potent now and coming in clutch using those powers for good! Derek is quickly becoming Best Boy Derek! I love how Max treats Holly as independent and capable of making up her own mind. Max is so independent herself, she refuses to control others like Vecna does, instead she makes her case and gives them freedom to respond – and Holly rises to the occasion. Yup, these Wheeler women… We now know that Henry is afraid of the cave for some reason. And we also know that the kids’ minds are trapped somewhere in Vecna’s memories while their bodies are kept elsewhere, so the 50’s house is a mental cage of sorts. So all of those tunnels – that’s how Erica is able to get so close – they can get into the buildings on the perimeter of the military base, which is how Hopper was able to sneak onto a transport truck earlier this season. That was a great talk from Robin to Will, having sensed his distress and reminding him that he will never find happiness if he centers his locus of control elsewhere – he needs to be okay and accept himself if he wants to find peace – and especially important because it then plays a part in the episode’s climax. I’m glad this episode retroactively improved Season 2 by pulling in Kali. So Vecna is not really being held captive (as you figured out when he freaking walks out of the Upside Down into our reality and just starts trashing the military). It was always Kali. There was a lot of geek-arguing when this episode released about whether Will was actually a sorcerer or a warlock (LOL) since he doesn’t really have inherent “magic” like Elle does, it’s because he’s jacked into the hivemind, can affect things in the hivemind, and essentially got his powers from a dark patron. (The arguments of gamers are endless...) So much of the regular action in “Sorcerer” was badass – and then we get to the episode’s FINALE. The production quality is so up this season, and then using the handcams to do ongoing tracking shots during those fights just added to the craziness and urgency. Not only are demogorgons terrifying en masse, but then Vecna (who is actually intelligent, not just running on rage) shows up and just tactically overwhelms / slaughters the remaining soldiers. It never seems like a fair fight, it’s a slaughter. This was such a great sequence from both a technical and emotional standpoint. About the one stupid thing Vecna does before he leaves is rub Will’s face in his weakness, telling him he’s responsible for all the children being abducted now and treating him as if he's useless and irrelevant. But Henry’s scathing disregard for Will in this moment contributes to waking the bear. Because our gentle, hesitant, long-suffering Will now reaches deep into his core and takes the power he was afraid of (the power causing him such pain, being in the demogorgons’ sensory pathways) and to protect his family and friends just completely demolishes them in a way reminiscent of how Henry had tormented the children he was killing. It’s maybe Will’s best moment, because we’ve been hoping to see him step out in confidence and glory like this for such a long time – and Will finally arrives. So crazy, so deserved, so wonderful to see! Yeah, easily one of the most badass moments in the entire series.

Appreciated your comments about Mike being a formative relationship in Will's life regardless of the nature of it. This unrequited love angle can happen to anyone regardless of preference but it will never change the fact they are important and special in a unique way to each other. Also, this deal with Hopper wiring himself to blow- yeah, that will need to be discussed between him and Elle!! I get his feelings, but...damn.
