This episode was STRESSFUL. Power went out half way through the recording and it took all evening to reconstruct the corrupted file but luckily I was able to. There'll be some slighty audio quality loss but it's better than having to scrap the episode. Thanks,Jackson

I remember posting in the after report I'd like to see this but I definitely did not expect to see an ep on it, I definitely thought it was to early to really talk about it but I'm definitely happy to see it! Just don't get assassinated please 🙏

John Oliver made a video on Boeing as well. And he adds more detail to how easy the new system on the plane could be easily manipulated and how the pilots, even aware of the system, could combat it fast enough in the second crash.

Alexandra Wood

As a Flight attendant, I’ve been avoiding Boeing since 2019. Recently, anytime I do have to work on a 737 we seem to have maintenance.

Lofty

to prevent the mishap of a powercut, try searching for an uninterrupted power sup (ups). they also prevent powersurges, and they have batteries, so you could hurry to save the file

Mack Ryan

holy shit im listening rn

You know, the mysterious death of a high profile whistle blower would certainly make any future whistle blowers think twice. Edit: and not 10 seconds after I commented, Jackson said it, so I contributed nothing lol

Akmal Azamov

This was structured almost exactly like John Oliver’s Boeing segment. Probably just research from the exact same article but just seems kinda repetitive since i watched that yesterday yesterday.

Gabe

It’s so sad that this cruel world drove John Barnett to suicide by four gunshots to the back of the head😔🤧

Roman Achille

I can't tell if the whole "corrupted file" thing is a joke or not, given the topic at hand.

cas.ko

I have to imagine this was left out because it didn't come out until after the episode was written, but the whistleblower was planning to leave before the day of his "suicide", literally the evening before it happened, but was pressured to stay an extra day by BOEING'S lawyers, or else they would use some loophole to have the case thrown out or something lol

kristina

Had a little breakdown over that, but hey the more u know 👍

I’m going to touch the people who touch jackson

Western Philosopher

Jackson may envy people with cool sounding names, but “Jackson Clarke” is genuinely a pretty cool name in its own right.

Shane Souders

I don’t think there’s enough Jackson-touching tbh

Jason

Mc-Douglass also overtook Boeing because Boeing became a full out military contractor that day. The contracts for F-16, F-18, etc were too lucrative to not focus on, because the us will never let the makers of their jets go bankrupt. That plus the hostile takeover by the new engineers made it so that they slowly culturally became just like NG LM, and Raytheon,

Paetreon video format when?

Pretty fun to listen to while I'm currently building Boeing engines

Speaking of repetitive

As an anonymous patron, I feel comfortable sharing this here. I'm a ground service agent for a fairly large Canadian airline, and the things they make us do over threat of much more than a lost job is unreal. Most of us take the extra time to do things properly, but for some of the younger guys who aren't so good at dealing with higher ups yelling in your face, things happen. When you mentioned the door seal key card thing I shook my head, because your reactions to it brought me back down from the peak of absurdity. That is done every single day. Or screws will be tightened with thumbnails. Or damage to the plane's exterior will be shrugged off so that flight crews don't end up delayed. Pilots see us as expendable grunts while they have "real careers" and will pressure us incessantly to look the other way on huge maintenance red flags. Planes will frequently land for months on end with broken door seals, missing nuts and screws, broken door latches, etc etc. And when we do make reports, we are assured they will be looked at. And then the plane comes back a month later in even worse condition. Pilots will often respond to new information about issues with the plane with a "fuck it, this is my last flight of the day". It's bad. I will never let anyone I care about fly unless absolutely necessary. This sounds messy and I didn't proof read because I'm currently working on setting up the redeye flight for the morning and don't have much time to do anything in my downtime besides write a dozen more reports on horribly neglected maintenance issues. The airline industry is the worst industry I've ever worked for, and I've been in some of the worst. The fact that these planes don't go down more often is miraculous.

Trash_Bread

That's crazy, I had no clue that the pilots pressure you to ignore maintenence issues. Scary to think about

Thegreatbio

Hey jackson you should also look into getting a power bank for your pc so when the power does cut it doesn’t take the pc with it and gives you time to save things so it doesn’t get corrupted

Tyler L

I literally just went on a plane yesterday and the intro was my exact thoughts lmaoo I laughed so hard

Delicious Cancer

John Barnett's fate could've been worse. He could've been fucked to death by a horse.

Satan

Fuck these jihadist Muslims. Fuck you muslims

Gabe

You would think the pilots would be the most worried about the condition of the plane since they’ll be the ones boarding it but I guess everything’s second to getting that bag

Aftershock

What's the song that you use at the beginning and end of the podcast it's really cool .or did you make it just for the podcast?

The dawn dish soap is actually a great lubricant for to get stiff rubber seals to slide into place I use a lot for work

Not even like a super common first-last name combo this is crazy

Me and most of my friends and family will not book a flight with boeing anymore. We actively choose flights at like 5 am and midnight just to avoid it.
