SteadiedShoe

Been waiting for this. Thanks, Jackson, we love you.

Brandon Lee Stogdill

Crazy how this is the first time I heard 9/11 mentioned today

Isidro Duarte

See y’all on the watchlist 💀

Kristopher

They did it. The mad lads did it.

cas.ko

I'm beginning to connect the pieces to the REAL reason Charles "Empty Buildings" White left the podcast

Connor Morris

It’s my birthday today let’s goooo

Charlotte

we're making it out of the towers with this one 🗣️🔥

Conner

Happy birthday!

kristina

You should look into the Memorial Hosptial Deaths diring Hurricane Katrina and Dr Anna Poe.

Cronus maximus

While I completely agree with all your points , I think the show would be much more interesting to listen to if you got someone nuts , like Alex jones to argue against you or if one of you has to try counter argue and agree with the crazy conspiracy 😂 Anyways the most obvious conspiracy is Charlie did 911

Jonathan Grier

It still feels crazy to me that there are adults now who don't vividly remember 9/11. I'm in Scotland and it was a huge moment over here, they gave us a special assembly at school (I was 15) to talk to us about it the day after it happened. Even now I feel like a lot of people my age have a sort of civilisational scale trauma about it.

Cringe Pog

I think, being very charitable to the us government but still going to the extreme i am willing to claim, they knew something was going to happen, and let it happen

Dennyboi

THE MAD LADS DID IT LETS GOOO! SEE YALL ON THE WATCHLIST

Smitty

For those of you like myself (24y/o) who weren't conscious or around on 9/11 there is an absolutely amazing video someone put together on YouTube that shows news footage, flight maps, communication from air control to the planes and emergency services, any footage people were taking from the ground and min by min accounts of what is going on starting an hour before the first plane hits. I was glued to watching it and is probably the closest experience I will have to being conscious that day. It is harrowing and fascinating, would recommend if interested. Not sure if I can post YouTube links but I am going to try here: https://youtu.be/zx8_Pumdkpg?si=CAfa23VlbprNd7_3

Devon 🦈🤙🍗

Australian man posts 9/11 conspiracies on 9/11. How crass, and inappropriate. I will be listening tho, and I'll probably enjoy it so idrk how to feel

BEEP

Man, what a great guest! Good choice with oomp

BEEP

Glad charlie wasnt on this ep considering his "empty buildings" take.

Ezhow2

Really screwed up stuff. Said it with zero empathy as well. Don't do acid kids!

Thaddeus Tobin

The worst thing about that day for sure was not understanding what I was seeing on the news and why that was erroneously considered more important than my cartoons. Also, drifting past the existential horror of the spaceship with a heartbeat was rough. Please revisit that.

Twocan

Thank you for cutting out all 2,996 hours of Caleb laughing, it would have gotten old after 6 hours ;)

AnusExplorer

damn i was fully expecting the person in the intro to be Jeffrey Epstein getting off on his island

Matt Murphy

I was 6 on 9/11 and my grandparents took an American flight out of boston that morning. They were grounded in Chicago. That was one of the scariest moments of my life.

Gary

The more I listen to this podcast, the more I realize how effective hiding something in plain sight would be.

Jordan Buckman

I was in 5th grade at the time, and I didn't know anything until I got home from school. None of us kids then were told at my elementary.

Nathan Anthony

Everyone should look into the dancing Israelis and the E-team

Vuskenicht

You guess mentioned having Kaya on to talk about something, but you guys just need him to teach you it’s okay to laugh during dark topics. The only people who will get upset are looking to misconstrue anything you say anyways. Everyone rational knows you’re not dunking your balls in the victims‘ faces.

pinheadlarry

They couldn't do this with charlie because he would be to scared

Joab Cartagena

Looks like the US government has gotten to yall

Western Philosopher

The flight attendant rushed to the cockpit and said, “Um, guys, you’re gonna want to see this.” The pilot immediately called traffic control, reporting, “We have company!” before audibly gulping as he heard the sound of a box cutter being opened. His final words were, “Yeah… he’s right behind me, isn’t he?” The copilot then said, “So… that just happened.”

Western Philosopher

I apologize for writing what’s probably the worst series of sentences I’ve ever conceived of. But I hope Isaiah sees it and comes to realize what CreepCast has done to his audience’s brains.

Western Philosopher

This is just like the time that the Sith Empire crashed a space shuttle into the Jedi Temple on the mega city planet Coruscant, which was arguably the single most significant event in the millennia-spanning war which ultimately culminated in the formation of the Rule of Two.

ZombieWolf2508

I was only 6 but I still remember 9/11 pretty well. I was at school, the teachers were acting weird and I remember we didn't really do any classwork, it was just free time. I'm pretty sure we were sent home early. I got home and it was on the TV, my mom explained that something bad had happened and they weren't sure if it was Ana accident or not. I remember seeing the second plane hit, but I don't remember if it was live or if it was from earlier in the day. Buy I do remember watching the towers fall live and seeing my mom's reaction to it. She wasn't in hysterics or anything, just more so shocked.

ZombieWolf2508

There's also a really good video that was taken by a guy who was making a documentary on the NYFD on 9/11. Pretty early on, they're standing in the street chatting after a call and they hear the first plane and the cameraman catches it as it flies over and hits the first building. The doc turned into being about the rescue efforts and you see tons of footage following that fire unit as they enter the towers all the way until they meet back up at the fd at the end of the day.

Western Philosopher

The hill I will die on is that Star Wars’ dialogue is fine. George Lucas said from the beginning that it wasn’t meant to be realistic, it was meant to evoke the melodramatic and occasionally campy way people talked in operas and early sci-fi. To that end I think it succeeded, and the dialogue of Lucas’ movies has a distinctive flavor that’s missing from the later movies but I think is captured pretty well in some of the games. I also think Luke’s cut line about the Empire ruling through fear could have worked if Mark Hamill was, frankly, a better actor at the time (I’ve heard his reading of it and the way he ran the words together in one breath made it sound worse than it was). His main complaint was that a farm boy wouldn’t have that kind of strategic sense, but it could have been an early example of Luke’s connection to the Force enhancing his intuition.

Western Philosopher

Every time I voice this opinion I always get people replying with, “Nah, it was bad because people don’t talk like that.”

Jacob

Yes too many Charlie references get off that mans meat 🥩

Sharon Tillinghast

We were living in Germany at the time, right outside a Naval Air Station. My son was in college in Virginia. My daughter was backpacking somewhere in Europe. My granddaughter was sick, laying on the couch watching kiddie videos all day, and knew nothing about it until my husband came in early from the base, tears running down his face.

Sharon Tillinghast

I know what you mean. My son was in college in northern Virginia, which, in case you don't know, is not far from DC. We were overseas. it was about 6 hours before I could get him on the phone, I don't remember breathing for those hours.

Sharon Tillinghast

I so totally agree. My husband was working for the air force, in Germany. He came home early from the base and told me, time stood still, that eternal moment is etched in my memory. All the "never forget" memes notwithstanding, I feel people have.

ZombieWolf2508

"I'm the one they call when shit gets conspiratorial, and let me tell you, this shit is very fucking conspiratorial."

Neji

My dad was a first responder and my aunt was in the second tower. Both are thankfully okay. My dad has to do a yearly checkup for all the cancer stuff you guys mentioned. It’s really sad seeing other first responders be completely fine and then they suddenly find out they developed 9/11 cancer and they’re gone a year later. It’s definitely still a very sore topic for New Yorkers, but I really appreciate your guys’ respectfulness for the tragedy and still balancing it out with funny jokes 🤍

theofficialpodcast

Your dad is a hero and I'm very glad your aunt is okay. Thanks for watching and sharing your families experience. -J

Local Degenerate

The only thing about the 9/11 attacks is the surprisingly specific warnings sent to our defense/intelligence community. That were ignored or not acted upon.

Jacob Barks

Idk if this was perfect timing for a 9/11 episode or the worst timing ever

Local Degenerate

Everyone is sharing their stories so i shall too because i have a fear of being left out. It's my fathers' though because i wasn't born yet. He was in NYC at the time driving home from his job. He saw the towers get hit and the panic of people's faces. He told me that (paraphrasing) "I didn't feel like crying, but involuntarily I cried. I was busy looking at everyone else faces. Too stunned by the horror to the point I didn't notice that tears had been falling from my cheeks until much later ". In my opinion what is often forgotten about 9/11 is the rise of hate crimes against Muslim Americans, my dad often drove his coworker friend who was Sikh (not Muslim but "looked" the part) to work and back to his house from NYC for a while because of 9/11. His friend didn't want to be alone driving at night or even the day. Certain days he felt unsafe to even look out the car windows, so he ducked his head in the back seat. Emotions were high, and as always just like with Japanese Americans, German Americans during WW2 and Chinese Americans during the Pandemic, they became targeted.

Bwoods

The only thing I learned about Gilgamesh is that he was epic.

Lentchunk

those buildings weren't having any fun

Evan Forrest

This is some wild pro bush propaganda

Ryan Anderson

BEST EPISODE YET (im on my second listen through already so my opinion counts)

Cringe Pog

The amount of money they lost was also not a few billion, it was 2.3 trillion

Jordan Smith

yall should do the lizard people conspiracy next. feel like it kinda fits

TheKhiGuy

Finally a real fucking topic

theofficialpodcast

Wait, the woman falling to her death and holding down her skirt wasn't said as a joke or meant to be an anecdote with levity. It was mentioned as a sobering moment of reflection that these were people who had to make extremely hard choices. It was humanising and sad. I don't understand how that was taken for as a joke or something we meant as disrespectful? Other stuff, sure, we joked about 9/11 itself and it's okay if you disagree with us doing that but I don't think we ever joked about the individual loss of life or people directly. -J

Testing

Shame charlie isn't here to tell us about how the buildings were empty again

Bandos Godsword

My 9/11 story is the morning of before school I was playing pokemon stadium and left it on so I could play when I got back home. Got back home from school and was pissed because my parents were hogging the tv and I just wanted to play my game but couldn’t move it into my bedroom without turning it off and losing progress.

Nutterbutters

Im loving this new guest, he’s so thoughtful‼️

Rasandoval99

Yeah the guest this week had some good points

BobG In that P

This day is a core memory for me, it honestly feels like my first conscious memory, i lived in jersey but could see the city from there and i remember seeing it all happen and not knowing what was happening

Donkeybutter03

I actually asked for this within the first couple episodes of the red thread there’s no way I thought they would actually do it

person

I’d love to hear about some Ancient Mysteries sometime! Love the show.

cdog44

holy SHIT man live a little

Tim

Thanks to all you guys for all that you guys do ❤️

kristina

The Tunguska Event would be a good idea for an episode

cole

Took y’all long enough to cover this thought it would be like 3rd episode

drew jeskey

Cheney 100% knew beforehand

dyslexicanaboko

I loved this episode, thank you so much for covering it. I was in high school when I was watching the towers go down on television. Literally class was stopped so we could watch the news coverage. It was terrible. People I knew were immediately calling their loved ones in New York to make sure they were okay. I feel like a lot of the conspiracies were aggravated by the fact that people were already quite butt hurt over Bush being handed the election by the Supreme Court because Florida screwed up the election by losing boxes of votes. Dick Cheney, who I always referred to as President Cheney, had his hand up Bush's ass and used him like a puppet. If you have the time, I recommend watching a movie called, "Vice" it was damn good. It just showed that Bush's cabinet was filled with flunkies and opportunists. You guys didn't talk about all of the profiteering that Haliburton and Black Water did - it's very well documented. The unaccounted for pentagon money isn't a conspiracy, that actually happened. Whoever was in charge at the pentagon at the time had to testify about it, it was a real kangaroo court. If you want to read-about/see some really inflammatory shit check out what John Bolton said before the towers went down. I can't find the clip right now, but he (paraphrasing) said that the towers could go down and it wouldn't matter. I guess that was just bad timing, but it was still kind of weird. Another thing to look into during that time was this piece of shit named Tom DeLay known as "The Hammer" amongst his colleagues. Long story short, he took money from Native Americans, lied to them about using it for their benefit, and sent that money to Israel to fund their war machine. Mr. DeLay was colluding with Jack Abramoff to get all this done https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Abramoff_Indian_lobbying_scandal -- not conspiracies, they got nailed for it. I hope they go to hell. Anyhow, my point with sharing all of that is to give perspective. It made it really hard to trust the administration and hearing things like, "They orchestrated the twin towers going down" at the time sounded kind of credible among all of the other crazy shit happening at the same time. The only other bigger failure of a president over Dubbya is Trump. Dubbya was a big disaster for our country. Even George acknowledged this himself, he fully acknowledged that he was far less of a fuck up over Trump and he acknowledged that invading Iraq was a humongous mistake.

dyslexicanaboko

Please don't take this the wrong way, not mad or anything. Please when you guys pronounce Iraq and Iran, please stop calling it I-rack and I-ran. Try pronouncing it as E-rak and E-rawn respectively. That was something during the Iraq invasion that just grated my ears and still does to this day. The Kangaroo and the Appalachian get a pass, but the Lebanese candy maker has no excuse. I expect more from you Caleb-habibi.

Akuma Herupa

Weird conspiracy that might fit It was Boeing. They saw the government contract money from making jets and then they profited for us being in a forever war needing to always come up with new aircraft. This would leave it to a small office of people all the planes were Boeing's and I mean the company has an interesting track record. Pulse the company could write off the planes come up with the paperwork of the highjackers and act like they did know.

Roman Achille

A great follow-up to this episode would be Snowden, as it directly involves the aftermath of 9/11 and national security/human rights in the wake of it. Plus it's extremely interesting on its own and worth covering.

Korean_Ian

Last week they held a ceremony for 9/11 responders who passed either on that day or due to illness caused by the toxic debris. It’s pretty hard to think that an event that hurt so many 23 years ago continues to take lives to this day

Ethan Kelly

I think he's passed now but my uncle was receiving regular payments from some foundation or another bc his lung cancer was caused by dust inhalation from 9/11

Mythical Mimikkyu

Is anyone else having a hard time listening to this or am I just being a pussy? I usually love the boys commentary and humor but for some reason I’m getting super sensitive about this one.

Bruce

No

Leonoymous

Not this one but the Casey Anthony one took a while to listen to. I broke it up in parts and it took about 3 days to go through. The obvious lying in the police interrogations really made me cringe and get upset.

Leonoymous

Caleb is originally from the Appalachian area too. He came from Virginia to Texas.

Leonoymous

Lizards drove the plane obviously.

dyslexicanaboko

Yeah I know I am just playing around. Caleb has said on like two occasions that he has Lebanese roots. I think he mentioned it on the "Some Ordinary Gamers" podcast though not this one.
