Work work work. Things are going well! But busy! But well! It's confusing. But good!? Let's get into it.

Tattoo

Big news! I got a tattoo. Holy cow. I've been planning this for months and it finally happened. Even better, this tattoo was financed by Patreon and YouTube payouts, which is.... weird, and cool? A design that I made was indelibly placed on my body using funds that I got from creative work. It's a living monument for me to not only the hard work over the past two years, but the wonderful community that has helped support me. I love you for that <3

I recorded a lot of the process on video with Tine and will be putting together a vlog on YouTube at some point. So something to look forward to!

Music

For those of you who missed the announcement, the Two Hour Album Challenge happened again last weekend (one of the reasons why this post is so dang late). The theme was CATS! and we had over 25 responses. It was a ton of fun.

The album is free to stream on Bandcamp and any purchases made will directly go to benefit a local animal shelter. Well worth it!

Refocus

This is going to be an upcoming YouTube video as well, though probably a few weeks off. I had a bit of a creative existential crisis last week and I came to the conclusion that I need to refocus my efforts on what really maters to me creatively. The Two Hour Track Challenge or this Patreon aren't going anywhere, but all of the satellite commitments that I have to other people are wearing me the heck down.

I want to focus less on commissioned work and more on personal creative projects again. I had fun putting together the Journey Without, Journey Within album (Patrons, check your download folders, it's in there and just for you) and I'd love to work on things more aligned with my own vision right now.

This might mean I work on music for a few months, then jump to making games, or even doing more physical projects like making instruments. I honestly don't know, but I want to focus on those projects more wholly rather than trying to do everything at the same time.

It is a big step, but also, I feel, a needed evolution in my work as an artist online. I have a few things I want to wrap up, but I'm hoping by September I'll have a better idea of what I want to do? It's a slow process, but I don't want to jump into something without planning.

So that's in for this month. I already donated to some kitties! They were happy :3
