The Twilight Zone is widely regarded as one of the best TV shows ever, and it's one of my favorite shows. Like in my top 5. Its messages still hold up today. Its stories explore themes of humanity's hopes, despairs, terrors, prides, and prejudices in deep, meaningful ways that more conventional drama just doesn't always do. Beyond its tongue-in-cheek science fiction exterior, viewers uncover a kind of wisdom: supernatural and science fiction stories that reflect real human trials and experiences. Season one is a little rocky but still pretty good. It feels a little bit like Rod Serling and his writers were trying to figure out what works. It's missing the iconic theme song and Rod Serling's onscreen narrations, but some of the best episodes are in season 1. I'd definitely stick with it with season 2 and onwards, where they really find their footing. I'm really glad this won.

Of the five episodes, I think Walking Distance is my favorite. However, I think it's more appropriate to look at the individual episodes: -Where is Everybody?: An oddball in the series since it's one of only four episodes with no fantastic, otherworldy elements at all. A decent premise, but I feel like the half hour run time hurts it a little. Season 4 upgrades the half hour into a full hour, and I think that would have helped the story a little bit. Still a pretty creepy episode that delves into the ideas of isolation and loneliness. -One for the Angels: A decent, heartwarming episode with an unambiguously happy ending. Oddly enough, it doesn't include the words "The Twilight Zone" in Rod Serling's opening narration. A simple tale of a man afraid of death and having to learn to accept it for the greater good. Interestingly enough, there's an interpretation that Mr. Death approaching Lew ahead of his appointment was less about giving him a chance to settle his affairs and more about testing Lew's character to make sure he was worthy of a space in Heaven. -Mr. Denton on Doomsday: A sad story of a broken man and his chance at redemption. Henry J. Fate is a rare benevolent supernatural force for the show. Decent acting for a pretty quick story. -The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine: A pretty melancholy story about aging and the glory days being over. Another oddball in the series, since any other future stories about nostalgia have some sort of Aesop that getting dragged down in nostalgia will only keep you from living your best life in the present. Instead, Barbara wishes herself into her past and the fantasy world of her movies instead of finding a way to move on with her life in the present. Some phenomenal acting from Ida Lupino and Martin Balsam. -Walking Distance: Speaking of stories where the message is getting dragged down in nostalgia will only keep you from living your best life in the present, we have Walking Distance. One of my favorites and one of the best in the entire series. This episode leaves viewers with a bittersweet feeling, and everyone can relate to it. Everybody at some point wants to go back to their past, but this episode tells you how important it is to live your life in the present.

Are you still going to react to Reacher at some point? I know you liked the first 2 seasons.

Being the last man on Earth would be cool if all the women were still there. The old willy might get a bit of chafing though lol.

HAHA India when you said after the second episode "turned me into a drunk and had me kill kids.." I thought WTF India?!! Then I realised you were putting yourself in the character's shoes lol.

If I could go back in time to talk to my younger self I would tell him to firstly be selective with girlfriends, don't pick the easy sluts, at least not for girlfriends, focus on career first and quality women will come. Have more confidence in your status and quality. Secondly, I would say, get into your chosen career path early, in your early twenties, and I would tell him to get into animation at one of the big studios while they were starting out. Travel and see the world. Save up and buy a house ASAP while they're affordable, find an attractive, good natured woman, have kids etc I think the main thing that derails men's lives is bad choice in women.
