I know what you mean Auntie. The ending of this movie is ROUGH!! lol this movie is based off of a VERY successful Japanese manga (got me thru high school hehe) and the ‘Battle Angel’ movies were supposed to be a trilogy; but the director (James Cameron) likes to take his long ass time and we dont even know if he will ever make them now ugh. the story is so captivating and the characters and world are incredible!!! We were just getting started!!!!! I need more

Omg yeah. He was actually a fan before he was a director. He actually went on a tour of the studio and all around Japan. He is a HARD core anime and manga fan. I just hate he is such a perfectionist that he takes; what did you say?? 13 years for a sequel?? 😭 we in trouble y’all lol

I am still thinking about the very moment this movie ‘ends.’ Was I the only one? Or did it honestly feel like the movie was JUST starting?? Even though we have already spent over 2 hours in this world?? James Cameron, man. He has a way with movies. You just get so lost and forget about time.

The ending is a let down but only if the sequel that was planned didn't happen, and it didn't. The movie was barely marketed at all and the public had no idea about it. It didn't do that well at the box office. Because it's such a brilliant movie it gained traction in later years on DVD. I knew you would hate the ending but love the buildup, but could you not put your grumpy face on the thumbnail? Lol, The details, concept and characters in this are incredible. Alita is so adorable and sexy, it's impossible for the viewer not to fall in love with her. I've rewatched this movie so many times, it's definitely rewatchable thanks to the masterfully handled character arc and relatability of Alita.

I believe Alita wasn't marketed well and didn't do that well at the box office. Word of mouth led to it doing well down the track though and becoming a bit of a cult hit. But no sequel is coming I think which makes me a saaaad panda.

I actually talked to James Cameron on a New Zealand flight as I was boarding 6 months ago. I told him how much I loved Avatar and Alita and that I had worked at Weta Digital (VFX studio that did Lord of the Rings, Avatar etc) but got there too late to work on Avatar 2. I would've got a selfie but I would've held up boarding lol. Definitely my favourite director.
