So conflicted on the ending on one hand I thought yeah it’s perfect ending no one died and it’s a happy ending but on the other hand vecna felt so weak and the mind flayer just felt weak for the main villain to die half way through your series finale 🤷‍♂️

I really liked this ending, don't understand some of the fans who despise it like yeah it may not be perfect for some but I thought it was great.

I thought the finale was done really well. I avoided reading theories as much as I could because I didn’t want to get my expectations up for a certain outcome and then be let down, or spoil it for myself, so maybe that’s why I don’t feel disappointed like many do. The epilogue was great. I feel it let us say goodbye to the characters without rushing it. I go back and forth on believing Mike’s theory. El didn’t have a bloody nose after bringing Mike into the void (and if the kryptonite was on, I don’t know how she’d be able to use her powers). I also don’t understand how she escaped the guard and ran to the gate without being spotted, so the invisibility spell is a good explanation for that. She also told Mike that one day he’d understand (whether she meant her sacrifice or knew he’d piece it together is open to interpretation). We also hear a heartbeat immediately after the screen goes black before present day Hawkins 18 months later. And the end credits scene is set to David Bowie’s “Heroes” the only times that song has been used (Peter Gabriel’s version) is when we’re made to believe someone died but who actually didn’t die (Hopper in S3 and Will in S1). I don’t know how Kali would have lived long enough to cast the illusion though unless her death was an illusion too. There are people who are convinced this ending is a fake ending and that we’re getting a secret E9 but I just don’t know how that would be possible. Especially since they released this one in theaters. Overall, I enjoyed it and was super entertained. I bawled during that last bit in the basement from when they’re putting their books away to when Mike goes through the door. Between the kids saying goodbye to their childhood and ushering in the next generation, to Mike’s face as he’s taking one last look while that beautiful score plays, it was just so well done.

i said it’s shit ending , but i so love the closing of stories! makes me cry :).. and mike looking at the next generation, like damn i’m old and it passed, leaving it to the other ones who come next, imma sucker for that shit :) the music really adds a lot too

I really like vecna as a character. He's a tragic villain gaslighted by the mindflayer into thinking he chose to join it but in reality was controlled all the way to the final moment.

The spinoff that was confirmed apparently has something to do with the origins of that stone in young Henry's hand. They also said stranger things is the last time we see any of the characters so it's going to be something completely new.

After watching 3 times through something still doesn’t sit right with me. Will saying he used to get milkshakes at melvaldes when it’s a general store. Vecna says he’s gonna be a spy for him then the final fight being fairly easy. Hoppers ring was the same one that Jonathan had. I guess maybe he could’ve given it to Hop to use idk? The last moment when we see the c4 go off and El disappears, the screen cuts to black for 7 seconds, then we hear a heartbeat and a grandfather clock tick sounds. I think Vecna won and we saw what he wanted us to see and this is it, or there’s more. I know I sound crazy because it sounds crazy. I’m not crazy.

i loved the ending tbh. as someone who genuinely grew up on the show being 10 when it started and 19 when it ended, i dont know how they could of made the ending any better
