It's about time I watched this amazing movie! Getting heavy Metaverse vibes O_o

Seriously tho, this film was so good and made my "gamer self" emerge! Would love to know if you watched this in the Cinema or IMAX and what that was like. And also if you are not a gamer, what did you think of the movie?

Had lots of fun with this one and I hope you guys enjoy the reaction!

I love this movie, I can't wait to see this one!

Davide

Oh, I didn't expect a reaction on a Saturday. And it's a good one.

Ohh nice, such an awesome movie - and I'm not even a gamer, but there are so many insane easter eggs in this film, like 300ish according to a video on YouTube running through them all! I so want to be in the Oasis xD Gonna watch this right the hell now :D

*Seb contemplates spending the rest of the day gaming* This was such a vibe watching in theaters. I wish I was a better gamer, but I never make the time to try to better my skills (hence the barely used PS5 collecting dust 😅) But you should definitely rewatch this in a few years after you rack up more films just to see which new references you spot.

Samuel

Here's the video I mentioned in my previous comment - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfeVH2bbzlw - would be fun seeing your reaction to that as well, but no matter what you should definitely watch it :) Will make you look even more if/when you rewatch it at some point ^^

Just watched for the first time. That was a super fun ride. So many references, I probably didn't get half of them. Concept was super cool. Having to find all those keys would be so much fun, even though would never be the first to any of them lol. I think VR to that level would be so fun and cool but also so dangerous for society and the self. Corporate interests and bad faith actors would make it so hard not to be used to mess everything up. Mental health as well would be awful and every time you died you would lose everything would crush my soul. That's why I could never do PoE HC. I would be so angry lol. I need to rewatch The Shining with your reaction soon as I haven't seen it since I was like 11. I was falling asleep through half of it and just thought it was so lame for a horror film. Interested to see what I think of it as an adult. I vaguely remember all the scenes they showed in this film of it other than the naked woman bit, who needs to remember naked women anyways lol. I'm not sure they gave the strongest moral of the story at the end there, as without the love interest, Wade would not have agreed with any of that stuff. I've used gaming for long hours as an escape from having to deal with life but it just means I haven't been spending the time in reality to sort myself out. I think it's a growing problem with the younger generations. I can't believe this was a Spielberg film as well, can't remember the last film I've watched of his. Explains why it was done so well I guess. VFX were amazing as well. Super enjoyable.

Can I recommend a movie? I dunno if anyone wants to back me up here but I think Hairspray (2007) would be a fun reaction for you

Michael

When we realise you haven't seen terminator haha

Vonnie Stewart

have you seen the old and new jumanjis?

Ah crap, how did I forget that lol, I blame tired me watching the end of the movie with you after a nap lol. Just your reaction on the terminator reference, I guess I found it funnier lol

Gambit

Have you read the book yet?! It's so good! the challenges Parzival and the high 5 have to complete are different and pretty interesting! They also made a book sequel called "Ready Player 2" I hope they do a movie. BY FAR the best part in the movie was Chuckie's cameo. Great Reaction Seb xoxo <3

Alex

The intro! hahaha

Matt Jones

I saw this in theatres with friends that new nothing about it and everyone loved it! I have to point out what others have already done though, you should really check out the book or audiobook was great too.

Seb's intros are definitely one my favorite things in life! He's so creative and playful! Seb is truly one of a kind, in the BEST way. I'm so glad I finally found him!! <3

Seán Piggott

Even the spell towards the end of the movie is an Easter egg. Used in John Boorman’s Excalibur (1981), by Merlin and then Morgana Le Fay. Another great movie.
