I was dreading this episode because I knew Pietro appearing would go right over your head. He is the Pietro/Quicksilver from the X-MEN franchise and most of us have known him since 2014. I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing when they showed him, I was so shocked. If I understand correctly, his character's rights are owned by FOX. So no one was expecting him to show up in a different company's show, it was astonishing. Please watch the X-MEN films after you're caught up with the MCU.

I wish he knew that, but I also didn't want him to delay watching WandaVision. And the story ultimately still works, even though it misses out on one big shocking moment.

Disney bought Fox a few years ago. The rights belonged to Marvel/Disney. The real reason it was surprising was to see it was Even Peters' Quicksilver instead of Aaron TJ's Quicksilver as in Age of Ultron.

As for the Pietro and Wanda rights in the times before Disney bought Fox, it was complicated. The characters are both associated with the X-Men, whose movie rights were under Fox, and the Avengers, whose movie rights were under Marvel. As a result, the rights were shared. But Fox couldn't refer to their connection to the Avengers and Marvel couldn't refer to their connection to the X-Men. As part of that, Marvel couldn't use the Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch names until Disney bought Fox.

I love the sitcom stuff but the scene with Wanda going out of Westview and the scene where Vision gets mad at her are so good! It's interesting to see you watching it when you don't know all the theories people were coming up with when it originally aired

The ending though. I don't know if that means something for the multiverse or not. Also that version of quicksilver was like from the younger x-men years ago, so not sure if there is some time stuff going on. Agnes is way too alert and seemed like she was controlling Wanda with the babies. Maybe it is her controlling some people and Wanda controlling a lot of it. Maybe she has some similar powers or something. Norm said 'she' and not 'Wanda' so could be someone else. Still not sure if Vision is fully alive or not. Surely she can't resurrect the dead without some major fallout. Vision is ultimately still a robot of sorts so him coming back wouldn't be crazy. The two kids are cute. I'm not sure what their powers are- I guess something to do with cellular regeneration of some kind. That would make it interesting for what they could do for Vision. Not sure how they can be kids to both Wanda and Vision yet though. I'm super interested to see how this is all going to end.

The show was already very good before, but it got a lot better, imo, once it started to jump between inside and outside the hex. That being said, I think keeping it exclusively inside the hex for a few episodes was the right decision. One detail that I love is Wanda speaks with an American accent in the American sitcom stuff, but switches to her Sokovian accent in the scene where she confronts people outside the hex. Other people already explained why the Pietro recast was a huge deal, I won't repeat it. But you have no idea how much that blew our minds. And then we had to wait a week.

Since this episode dips into 80's genre shows like Family Ties ( and you've already brought-up Roseanne ) it was nice to see that painted family portrait intro with that great song "Making It Up As We Go Along". The lyrics to all these TV intros spell-out so much of what Wanda and Vision have gone thru - it's bittersweet.

Yes this was actually from comics. Wanda is actually insane in the comics.

A Vicarious View

As soon as you didn't recognize Evan Peters as Quicksilver, I knew you hadn't seen him play the character in the X-Men movies. In the comics, Wanda and Pietro are the children of Magneto and are both mutants.

even people who seen those movies sometimes dont understand the multiverse aspect. that being said Im pretty sure the marvel studios x men is gonna be completely redone. unlike the Sony stuff coming up.

I remember the internet lost its mind when the last few seconds of this episode aired. Evan Peters returning as Quicksilver (he played the character in Fox's X-Men movies) was HUGE. We couldn't believe it! And I agree, this episode was amazing overall. It gets even better moving forward!

Copyright reasons- would be illegal to profit off showing a full length show/film essentially. He plays the first couple minutes with proper visuals and sound, then it is blurred and muted for the rest of the time. Gives time to sync up our versions. I thought it would be annoying at first for it to be that way but I think I actually prefer it- can change the size and volume of Seb and the film to what suits me.
