FINALE TIME! Won't spoil anything here in case of some first timers but I share all my thoughts at the end!

I guess for Loki we will do the same with 2 episodes every week I just need to find an outfit asap..

Really appreciate you all watching these with me and I hope you enjoyed the reactions. I am enjoying watching more shows this month but I do miss my Marvel movies. Excited to watch Black Widow and Shang chi eventually (May have to return to incredible hulk soon)

Have a great weekend and I think most people are finishing with school today? If you are I hope you have an awesome Christmas break :)

It would be nice if you watched The Incredible Hulk before Shang-Chi and preferably What If...?, although this second one is less relevant. Black Widow and Shang-Chi are independent from the remaining show, so you don't need to synchronise their watch order. I'm looking forward to watching these reactions and I can't wait for Loki. One thing I'll note is that both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had to interrupt filming because of the pandemic, which probably left them somewhat in a rush to finish afterwards. And this show was more affected, they still had about a quarter of it left to film.

Overall, I thought the season was solid. Loved how it not only chronicled Sam’s struggle to become Captain America but also the development of his and Bucky’s dynamic. I’m glad it didn’t try to copy Steve and Bucky’s relationship (which was a full on bromance); whereas Sam and Bucky have a buddy cop sort of relationship, and that kept things fresh. I’m aware the ending was impacted by the pandemic so they had to limit the scope (and I believe the number of episodes) due to restrictions. But hopefully they correct that with Sam’s Cap movie. ***Also the old man that blew up the super soldiers at the end was Zemo’s butler. I don’t think he was featured enough to be recognizable by most viewers (I had to look it up afterward because even I wasn’t 100% sure).

i’m pumped to watch this when i get home and i’m excited for you to watch loki. as much as i love wanda and vision i think my ranking of the three shows would be loki, FATWS then wandavision, but nonetheless all great shows :))

I honestly disagree with this series needing more fight scenes. The story is so strong, even with them changing some bits up because of Covid.

I thought this last episode was decent, I don't think it did justice to all the storylines but with one episode I didn't expect it to. Bucky almost made me cry again with his endings. Isaiah almost as well. Not sure what I think of John Walker, he seemed better this episode but with his past and justification for killing I think he is a loose cannon that may come back to bite someone. Sharon and the Power Broker stuff I thought was a bit lame in this episode. I worked her out in EP3 so was expecting a bit more fire from her with the reveal. Overall I really enjoyed this series. I think the topics it tackled across the board were interesting but I think they just had too many to give really any of them the proper justice and time they needed. They either needed to cut them down a lot or needed to have more episodes. The amount of topics and stories in this show was enough for 3-5 times the length of this series. I think that's also why I find it almost impossible to compare it to WandaVision as that show had very little overall plot but it executed it really well. Whilst FATWS had so much plot but did some of it really well and some of it only okay. As with WandaVision though, this series was great to get to know Sam and Bucky a ton more. Wanda and Bucky have become some of my favourite characters after these shows. Looking forward to Loki next!

Zemo's butler? I had literally no idea. When did we even see that character before?

Etoile2004

Insanely excited for the Loki Series!!!

While I agree that the series didn't quite live up to its full potential (especially compared to WandaVision), I still enjoyed it overall as an exploration of Sam and Bucky's characters, their relationship, and the passing of the mantle of Captain America. Also the introduction of John Walker and Valentina, and the re-introduction of Sharon Carter and Zemo, all make for promising new storylines in the MCU moving forward. Great watching along with you as always, Seb. Looking forward to Loki 😊

After Loki, it's Black Widow( You'll want to make sure ya watch post credits), Shang-Chi , Eternals and then Hawkeye. I'm going to see Spider-man No Way Home tomorrow. Really excited for that one!

I really enjoyed the show, BUT, I think much of its potential was lost due to the pandemic. I've read that a world wide pandemic was part of the original plot involving the Flag Smashers, and obviously there were massive rewrites. If you go back and watch all the scenes regarding the FS's, you'll notice lots of over dubbing, conversation without showing faces, etc. They obviously had to salvage scenes already shot without time or budget to reshoot. I've read Mama Donya had a much bigger presence but it was lost due to script changes. The plot definitely suffered. (Go back to episode 2 and look at all the labeled crates of "vaccine" in the truck fight) Hopefully, we get a season 2 with a Bucky transition from Winter Soldier to White Wolf (that's my dream at least), and the writers aren't thrown a huge monkey wrench in the middle of shooting. Can't wait for your Loki reactions and regarding Hawkeye, I think everyone is finding it the sleeper of the bunch. It's giving us everything we've always wanted from Clint but have never had the chance to see. I think you'll love it, when you get around to it! See ya next week, and Thanks, Seb!

Do you remember that Bucky's Pardon is based on not hurting anyone or its revoked. The thank you he gets is the first time he has been thanked for saving a life, he just used to take them. This is a set up for Captain America 4, hoping we see another season showing us Bucky transitioning into White Wolf. Remember all the fights by the Avengers they didn't kill, they stopped people. So Iron Man can save people but not someone else in a suit similar ? Can I have your life size Bucky now you're done ???? Please. Wanda was boring until the finale.

Steve Boutet

Bucky has always been my favorite, as his character has gone through the wringer. Seb Stan's portrayal has been brilliant throughout the years. Another actor could have killed the character. Loki has always been my number two, and with WandaVision, Wanda has moved right into the top three. I'm loving Hawkeye too. These shows are definitely taking these characters, and their development, into the top tier.

Next movie you should watch if you haven’t…inception

TJ

2 min into the episode - Seb: "Come on now, we don't have much time."

Rushara

Black Widow, The Gifted, The Mandalorian tv show, Umbrella Academy, The Last Kingdom, Vikings, just a few ideas but The Mandalorian is a must.

Tori Jeri

Oh yeah that old dude in the car was Zemo’s butler who was with them only in the private jet scenes. I didn’t even know it was him on first watch either so I get it lol

Inhuman Paradox

My biggest problem with the show is the finale. The speech in particular. After so much buildup and talk of real issues, issues that affect real people and heavy questions, what we get is "Do better". Yeah, like that's helpful. That's like saying the key to end racism is just to say "Don't be racist" to racists. It's the ultimate cop-out that a company like Disney would take on such issues. Which is a shame because the MCU actually did address racism really well in Luke Cage and actually addressed that the solution isn't that simple. But that was on Netflix where you could be grittier and have heavier messages and this is on family friendly no offensive messages allowed Disney+. Frankly if you're not gonna discuss real world issues honestly, don't discuss them at all. Instead we get this romanticized version of the real world issue where you can just say "Do better" and things solve themselves. It killed all the good-will this series built with me, especially with Episode 5 being such a great episode for building these tensions. It's lazy Disney writing.

Inhuman Paradox

"Remember all the fights by the Avengers they didn't kill, they stopped people" 100% false. We literally see Cap gunning down people in Avengers 1 and the entire team murdering tons of people at the beginning of AoU. Not to mention all the people Cap killed in his first two solo movies, Iron Man massacring the terrorists in the village in Iron Man 1 and shooting tons of people in Iron Man 3, Black Widow killing tons of people since she was a literal assassin (Including HANGING someone in Iron Man 2), and of course, Falcon literally tossing that one guy to his death in the first episode of this show. MCU heroes kill. A LOT.

Inhuman Paradox

Also, piece of advice, watch Daredevil BEFORE NWH and Hawkeye. I won't say how elements are brought up to avoid spoilers, but they are brought up. One of them (I won't say which) in a small way, and one in a VERY big way that will have no impact for you if you haven't watched at least the first season of Daredevil (Though all 3 are fantastic. Season 3 does require Defenders to understand, which requires Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Not Iron Fist though, even though the character is there I actually think it's better if you never watch Iron Fist. I saw Defenders before Iron Fist and understood it just fine, so I assume you will too. The order is DD S1 - JJ S1 - DD S2 - LC S1 - Defenders - DD S3 - Punisher S1 - JJ S2 - LC S2 - Punisher S2 - JJ S3. The shows are all good, better than a lot of people tend to give them credit for. They tend to let how bad Iron Fist was taint everything else for some reason). Again, at least watch Season 1 before them, so you can at least get a grasp on the characters.

BratPfanneTV

I don't think he's seen star wars in general yet so watching Mando wouldn't make sense

BratPfanneTV

I didn't watch a single scene of Daredevil before Hawkeye and NWH but I wouldn't say it had "no impact" on me. I was actually really hype because a lot of people said a lot of good things about the show and I'm just always hype for good things to come to the MCU. But tbf I at least knew what it was I was seeing, so I guess that much is important.

Knights Who Say Sledge

I would say that, for me, the relationship stuff between Buck and Sam and everything surrounding Isaiah Bradley is at the heart of my love for this series. I don't know if maybe some of the poignancy and the power of Isaiah's character (who is a character I am very attached to in the comics for similar reasons) is partly because I am an American watching a very VERY true to American history and culture narrative playing out there (very emotionally and very painfully and very powerfully) or not. I never really considered that until getting to ride along in the passenger seat while you watched this all play out. It's clear you were invested in that story, but I had the sense that maybe it spoke to my experience and my situation as an American living within the real world experiences that informed that character and his story in ways that perhaps it didn't fully translate or maybe connect in the same manner for someone from another country and, understandably, potentially a step further removed from it all. I'm not sure. This isn't intended as a critique of your response at all - I don't have any issues with your response - but rather sort of a realization I hadn't had on previous watches of the series. I am also not saying that what I am considering here is inherently a "true" read of either your response or what I am observing, but instead just putting out there something that was occurring to me as I rode along and watched you taking the series in. It just seemed like maybe there was a bit more immediacy and that the story cut thru to experiences personal to my life in ways that potentially you wouldn't have had in your personal history as regarded Isaiah and his story. Thank you, as always, for your channel and your work. I look forward to Loki.

Didn't know French was a race.

Connor Ellis

Yeah he's Cap now. Not Falcon.

Connor Ellis

Walker has his comics name now, US Agent. This is the MCU, of course it's a cliffhanger so they can answer in the future.

Re: Marvel Netflix shows, if you are hampered by available time to watch all the shows, just watch Daredevil's 3 seasons--by far the best of the shows and the only one that "needs" to be watched for various reasons. And then if you like that series and have the time, delve into Jessica Jones, Cage, Iron Fist, and the Defenders. That way your progress through MCU entertainment won't be impeded when you reach the newer stuff.

Jaye

My favorite Disney+ shows if I were to rank them favorite to least favorite : are WandaVision #1, Hawkeye #2, Falcon Winter Soldier #3, and Loki #4. Loki has some really bad writing in regards to the plot and character development/arc that don't make sense for the God of Mischief, in my opinion. It's an important show to MCU but lacks depth and continuity.

As someone who is White British I think your post relates to me as well. As I said in my post above, I thought there was too many plots going on and some weren't given enough time or justice. I think Isaiah was one of those such plot points. In the earlier episode when he first appeared it was incredibly short scenes and Sam talking to Bucky afterwards was very quickly interrupted. I don't think it gave enough time to delve into the depths of that topic during those moments. However I can see how people who experienced those things in America during the time, whether as first-hand or bystander, would have a far greater connection and expanded interpretation to those scenes. As well as those who's family went through it or still feel it today. Knowing the comics of Isaiah no doubt gives it a lot more power as well. I think for me, with the scenes in the final episodes it was quite powerful for how little we actually saw or talked about Isaiah. I just think he needed a lot more time in the show to give him the extra poignancy he deserved. As you said, this whole show had a very America-centric narrative so not living there also probably removes some of the impact of certain scenes. I feel I still got most things from this show just you probably gain extra from having a relational or direct experience to each relevant topic. Like some of Bucky's mental health dialogue probably hit me harder than others based on their experiences or lack thereof. I really wish this show had been a lot longer to explore more of the story threads.

The old man at the end was Zemo's butler who we met earlier in the series - presumably he was sent by Zemo to make sure the rest of the super soldier flag smashers were dead. I really liked TFATWS and I think the message behind the show is super important, and the nuances are relevant to everything going on in real life. Wandavision has been my favourite so far, although I loved them all. Super excited for you to watch Loki, the visuals are amazing :) x

Yeah, it's been interesting to re-watch The Falcon and the Winter Soldier along with you. One thing that's important to note is that the show underwent some pretty substantial rewrites because of the pandemic, after they had already started shooting. They shut down production for months and lost a big filming location and had to re-write to accommodate that. Also, a storyline that initially had a big payoff in the finale was completely scrapped from the series after a lot of the storyline had been shot. That said, I think they still did a great job considering it's the MCU show that was affected the most by the lockdowns. I think that's probably why episodes 5 and 6 are weaker than the rest. Looking forward to Loki. I didn't love that show, but I'm looking forward to re-watching along with you over the next few weeks!

Kevin

Make sure to watch Black Widow before getting into the Hawkeye series!!!

Gambit

To be honest, I loved the series. I loved seeing Bucky be more humanized and his relationship with Sam grow. I loved how we saw Sam struggle and overcome conflict with him becoming Captain America. I remember a lot of comments on social media talking about "their CA isn't black" which I thought was so low and full of bigotry. These are fictional characters you know? The last few episodes I enjoyed because it is grounded in realism with what the world faces today. Isaiah's closure was very beautiful to watch! Great Reaction Seb! xoxo <3
