harexx

the second film is my personal fav

Angie H.

dude, let’s fucking gooo 🤧

silas

that was indeed very fast sir! excited to see your reaction to catching fire

Davide

Oh, this movie should make for some great reactions. And yes, keep going.

Daniel Rojas

My favorite book to movie adaptations. I was obsessed!

Aegis Duensing

Oh for sure get into the next ones. Catching Fire is arguably better than this one

Jeff Cabrera

Ummmm…of course you have to watch the 2nd one now!!! (It’s even better than this one!) ***If you were to be like “I think I’ll stop at this film guys”, I would legit riot 🤣🤣🤣

Zack Meaney

watching this for the first time with a true alpha male.

Michael

F yeah! Finally.

katie hughes

Is anyone else having trouble getting sebs video to sync with the movie? I'm watching the movie on Hulu but no matter how many times I try to pause and get the movie to catch up it somehow is slower than sebs video?

Michael

The movies get stronger as the story goes on, the first was definitely the weakest of them all.

William

Absolutely! It’s a far better franchise than I initially gave it credit for way back when. Excellent films.

Davide

I'm having the same problem, I notice my video lagging behind after just a few seconds.

Ahhh I see now, I’m in the US and unfortunately we don’t have the hunger games on Netflix here. But thanks for replying to my comment seb! Always excited for your new content!!

ayden

you have to carry on! the second one is the best on in my opinion

oh I dare you to dress up as her 😈 Film polls and stuff should be fun, not had one in a good while. I guess people wouldn't request a poll when they can just request the film they want to see 😂 Twilight could be fun, I don't think I ever watched all of them, a friend got me to watch a few of them in a row when I was younger. Speaking of younger, there was a load of random actors in this that have gone on to do other things. Jack Quaid for one, I didn't know he was younger than me 😅 lol. I think Hunger Games is supposed to be "young adult" which often brings a bit extra than just standard teen stuff I guess. I do enjoy the Hunger Games though, feels like something you could watch over and over again pretty easily. One a week or one every two weeks, whatever is fine with me. Maybe watching them non-consecutively would make it feel a bit more impactful, not sure. FYI for some reason the 4th film doesn't seem to be on Netflix, but is on Prime, so stupid when they do that lol

William

Did you watch this sped up or something? It's like we are watching two different films or something with it going out of sync every 30 seconds or so. Oh well, it was a nice try I suppose. I'll take your word on this one because a watch-along is not practical like this. Hope you enjoyed it. 👍🏼

William
>>79003037

Yeah, it's totally bonkers here as well. It's a tad frustrating. I gave up.

Davide
>>79003037

I give up. I only have the 2h22min version and I can't find any other one. I'll watch the Youtube edit.

Davide

I give up. The version you're watching is faster than mine and it's different enough that it gets desynched very fast. I can't find any other version, so I'll watch the Youtube edit.

Michael

Only on this rewatch did I realise the woman who creates the dogs etc is the actress who plays "Hunter B-15" in Loki.

It's the classic 0.96x speed thing, so weird that there is two versions of most things, think it's just an SD vs HD type thing, keeps a few more frames in tact that adds up over time

A Vicarious View

I'm assuming the time difference all the USA viewers are having is because the UK version was edited down to make it more kid friendly. They cut out most of the blood and more graphic stuff like Cato snapping that one kids neck, showing more of Katniss tending to her burned leg, and Thresh smashing Clove's head into the Cornucopia but the UK version doesn't show the 3rd killing blow where you hear the 'crunch'. The last scene where they fight Cato on top of the Cornucopia also has Cato covered in blood in the US version but no blood in UK version. Seb, can you confirm if you saw blood or no blood on Cato at the end?

Davide
>>79014093

It turns out if I play the movie with VLC, it has a setting to adjust speed up, with precision up 0.01. So I can set it to 0.96.

Davide

If your movie is slower than the one Seb is watching and you're able to open it with VLC player, there should be a menu called playback that has a slider where you can adjust the speed. Set it to 1.04 and I think it should work, it did for me. Note that I'm on Mac, so I don't know where exactly the option appears on Windows.

Everything you said was on the UK Netflix version. It's not a different version in the sense of edited, it's just a different version in terms of frames or something. Seems to be like an SD vs HD or HD vs 4K type thing. Always ends up being about ~0.96x speed difference

Anonymous

For non-UK viewers, are your versions these lengths? Catching Fire - 2h26m Mockingjay Part 1 - 2h2m Mockingjay Part 2 - 2h16m

Davide
>>79014093

I was wrong about 2 things. First, the precision is 0.04, not 0.01, but that's enough. Second, I should set it to 1.04, not 0.96. And it worked.

Davide
>>79016160

The part that actually took work was me doing for myself. Once I did, not typing it for others would be selfish.

Michael

To anyone wondering based on these comments, I watched along with netflix UK and it was perfect. @Seb -- I have seen other patreon peeps telling us where they are watching and the exact runtime, you should consider this in the future. Lots of different streamer places and of course cinema/extended/dvd versions out there on some movies.

Sammy Boy

OMG YESSS i love these movies

Davide
>>79024792

What's happening is it's fine for people watching it on Netflix, but not every country has it on Netflix and other places have different versions.

Michael
>>79024792

Yeah I know :) I was not sure if Seb mentioned it was on netflix at the start (he probably did), but just letting others know there is no issue using it in the UK. I was about to use my blueray DL version but instead went to netflix, others might do the same.

Davide
>>79014093

The desynch gets slightly noticeable after 20min instead of 20s, which is very much fine.

Chris B.

If you have a Netflix account you can also use a VPN set to the UK to gain access to the movie on Netflix.

Davide
>>79014093

I'm in Portugal, yes. I think Hulu is US only. As for where I got the movie, let's just say it's probably the US version.

Zack Meaney

More poles would be great

A Vicarious View
>>79018002

Can confirm runtimes in US... Hunger Games: 2:22:31 Catching Fire: 2:26:13 MkJay Part 1: 2:02:52 MkJay Part 2: 2:16:54 These are on my Blu Rays and digital copies through Vudu/Movies Anywhere. Curious why the first movie is the only one different...🤷‍♂️

Isis Peoples
>>79003037

Booooooo Netflix/Hulu At least I'm not crazy. I feel like I've synced this 20 times

Kayyy

Please watch the second film. It only gets better!

Jacob Jones

yes second movie is definitely worth watching

Davide

The second movie is the best one. And yes, this is early in Jenifer Lawrence's career.

Izzie H

For anyone that is having trouble syncing to this video. If you have a VPN change your location to UK-London. Log back in to your Netflix account and search hunger games it comes right up and is the 2Hr 16 version. Hope this helps!

Cam’ron

You should consider The 100. It kinda has a hunger games vibe but much more brutal at times.

Liam Kershaw-Calvert

Love this franchise! (Also I would be down for a twilight reaction, them movies are my guilty pleasure because Robert Pattinson 😇)

Rose

Idk if all of the hunger game movies will have this Desync If they are all on uk Netflix. Can someone pls let me know. I was watching this on US Hulu.

Rose

Thanks the times are different and I watch along on the tv so I’ll check if renting them will change anything:)

Jordan Faith

The sequel is the best film out of every movie - and is still one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. The acting and the cast blow the second movie out of the water. (also the books were phenomenal - the books are one of the few good book to movie adaptations)

Calvin Graves

Your version was a little faster. Duh. But I was drunk already. Then I got high. Very legal in my state. Had a great time. Would 100% do it again for the sequel. Luv you bruv. Was that British?

Calvin Graves
>>79121435

As a reader of the books, I loved your takes on the first movie. Especially the why would you go back to the games comments. I think I said that after finishing the first book.

Calvin Graves
>>79086431

I started The 100 over Thanksgiving time last November and only got to episode 2. A Seb series is what I need to get back in the game haha

Rose
>>79094208

It’s very weird because on movie time info on Hulu it says 3hr 1 min but the actual time play is 2:22:30

Mascha Brosius

So hyped about this reaction!! Definitely continue with the franchise!!

Agnes

the second hunger games is really good!!

Jamie

I’m so so excited your watching these films. Everyone should. I see so many reactors reluctant to watch The Hunger Games series because they think it’s just a “teen” story. It’s so hard to describe The Hunger Games to people without giving too much away. It might have a teenage girl in the lead but it’s so much more than that. I think it’s such a relevant and important story especially in these scary, modern times. Hope you enjoy!

Gambit

I haven't rewatched this in like over 10 years! It was really nice watching it as an adult. Great reaction Seb! <3 xoxo

Jessica

So excited to watch you react to these films!! But yes, please watch the twilight films soon! It will be so funny 😂

Cathy Breuer

For anyone still looking for a good version of the movie to sync it up. The Canadian version on Netflix (use your VPN to change it to Canada) and it is the 2h and 16 minutes version so syncs up perfectly!

Anthony Jackson

i don't have this version but i think the next film is the same. hopefully!
