Wow.. This one was absolutely outstanding! Such a great follow up and I loved every minute of this. Very glad I chose to watch this now and can't wait to hear what you guys thought of this movie :)

idk if anyone has brought it up yet but hulu (us) syncs this one perfectly 5:12 (or 2:20:00) on sebs reaction and 2:25:01 on hulu (us) to sync it

Because the story never leaves Katniss’ perspective in the book, the revelation of “who” would be participating in the arena felt like a true gut punch at the end of that chapter (I was shook for hours lol) Despite it’s changes, this movie captured just how great that book was.

You cracked me up at the start 😂 This film is definitely a lot better than the first in numerous ways. I think the build up with all the politics, threat, fear, connection to all the characters and people of that world just made it so much better. The games themselves had more purpose I guess, even if they probably took up less time than the first film. Acting felt better across the board as well. I don't have a super strong pull to a favourite character but I think from the first two films I would maybe say Peeta, though as you say people like Snow are just so good. Old guy villains just seem to bring such gravity to the roles. A few scenes made me almost get a bit teary there as well.

it was so painful seeing this cliffhanger in theaters haha didn’t think that tiktok bit w wiress would make you wheeze that hard but i couldn’t help but laugh w you lol they leave a little bit out from the books but it’s still one of those great movie franchises! my fav reaction

Yes! I'm glad you didn't wait another week. And the runtime matches mine, nice. This one has a new director, who did a great job. But I also think the source material is better. The politics aspect is done really well.

The series is amazing and although this may be the best (probably because it was such a huge step up), the last 2 are by no means short of amazing in their own right. Seeing this in the cinema, and in particular something from part 1, it was so damn good I had chills. I look forward to your reaction on it.

Great reaction! Catching Fire is an amazing film, incredible sequel and adapted from the book brilliantly. All the movies are actually my most favourite adaptations. Just captured the characters, the world and the conflict perfectly. Sure some stuff is missing but the essential things made it in. My favourite book & films is Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2…. For reasons I’ll explain once it’s been watched 😃

Peta is the best character. If you read the books, you know how incredible he is. The movies don’t do him justice. He is selfless and what happens to him in the next book/movie is tragic…

For anyone still having issues with the two versions matching up with each other, try playing netflix through your web browser. I played it on the app beforehand and seb's was faster, switched to the browser version and it worked perfectly. Awesome reaction s always seb, cant wait for the finales :)

9 times out of 10 sequels are always a let-down but you can tell that after the success of the first film they really plowed a lot of resources into this. The visual effects were so much better, the story was well done, the costumes and sets/locations were incredible, Jennifer Lawrence's acting really stepped up a notch in this one too. It really is so much better than the first

I *highly* recommend the books, Seb. Not every adaptation merits a read of the originals but this one might. I read this book and TOSSED IT across the room. Did it several times with Mockingjay, too. They are gutwrenching and brilliant. The details of the militarization of the districts and the uprisings, the sensory details of the games... it's so unbelievably good. I can't say enough about them.

I completely agree. These books are amazing. The screen adaptations are some of the best I’ve ever seen but the books do really give you an insight into Katniss’ mind and perspective and her feelings. These are def worth the time and effort (mostly emotional) to read.

One of my favourite movies!! I watched it 4 times in the cinema and once in IMAX. It was another experience in IMAX, they filmed all the arena scenes with IMAX cameras as well as the mockingjay outfit shots. Gives me the tingles every time!!!!!
