Because it’s already been confirmed that there would not be future Justice League films continuing this story, I’ll give you the bullet points on what would happen (based on various interviews with Zack Snyder): -This was meant to be the first part of a multi film saga. -The visions are not just dreams, but of the potential future. -Green Lantern (not Martian Manhunter) would warn Batman that Darkseid was on his way to Earth. -Superman tasks Batman with guarding Lois since he will be busy fighting Darkseid. Darkseid comes to Earth and gets ahold of the Anti-Life equation (takes away people’s free will). He ends up killing Lois, and uses the Anti-Life equation to control a mourning Superman (hence, Evil Superman). -Batman and the other surviving members of the League must navigate the post apocalyptic world while trying to send Flash back to warn Bruce of what’s to come (BVS: “Lois is the key.”) -The climax would involve the armies of Earth (League, Amazons, humans, etc.) once again coming together to defeat Darkseid/his army. -Deathstroke was supposed to be the main villain in the Ben Affleck Batman movie that would never be (we could’ve gotten the Arkham game fight 🥲)

One last fun fact: Unlike Superman, Darkseid’s eye lasers (Omega Beams) can change direction, hence why they zig zag.

Oh please watch WW1984, Josstice League, and Birds of Prey. If anything, they will make you appreciate Snyder even more!

Great reaction! I recently watched Birds of Prey and I liked it. Doesn't seem too linked to the main DCEU but I could be wrong. I think watching WW2 would be a good idea, even if you might not like it. There are some really good parts of it IMO. Feels a bit like the narrower part of a character development arc...so probably go with the majority vote there lol.

Without going into specifics, the individual movies after this movie are set in the same universe, they just don’t continue this Darkseid storyline. They’re, for the most part, self-contained.

There were meant to be more Justice Leagues. This film was what Snyder intended but it will never be. The subsequent few films are tonally lighter and trying to match the MCU, lacklustre. So much so that James Gunn has been put in charge of DC Studios. It's all up in the air. Reboot the entire universe and start from scratch, taking the time to do each character right before an essemble film?

I think you misunderstood what this film was. A continuation of this story won't be happening. The film is considered non-canon to all the other films next because this version didn't even exist until after Aquaman and WW84 and stuff was already done if not planned.

Who is going to tell him that we won't get a sequel because WB decided to reboot everything not one but two times.. Maybe we'll get Darkseid one day but it definitely won't be this one

The "adoptive son" and "Boy Wonder" the Joker was referring to was Jason Todd aka Robin. Joker killed him.

Rebooting the entire franchise sounds like an idiotic idea. Might as well chuck it because who wants a reboot when the franchise isn't even fully established. DC manages to be so terrible at this. Snyder's JL was awesome, but they don't seem to have much quality in the DC world moving forward. Flash ought to be interesting, but no one knows if Ezra will stay on after his personal/legal troubles this year. No WW3, no JL sequel, no concrete plan to build on what they've already laid out. C'mon DC.

Don't lump BoP in with those. BoP isn't great or anything, but it's at least a film with a cohesive vision that matches the character it's based on. WW84 and JWJL are just abominations of mankind.

It did exist. The only stuff in this cut that didn't exist prior to Aquaman and WW84 was the 5 minute Knightmare scene at the end. Everything else was in the 214 minute cut Snyder had. It's also not non-canon according to James Wan and Patty Jenkins, who have said they consider Snyder canon rather than Whedon (Wan especially so since Whedon's rewrites weren't even done until AFTER Aquaman was already shooting).

In the Snyderverse it was actually Dick Grayson who died. Which is stupid. I like Snyder, but that idea was dumb, Dick Grayson is literally meant to be a multiversal constant in DC.

It's not rebooting. That's all paranoid speculation. WW3 not moving forward in its current form means nothing other than that we (THANK GOD) won't be getting another Johns script like WW84. Gal has indicated she's still WW (Unless you think the entire deal with WW3 happened in under 24 hours, she knew about that before making her post).

It should be noted that some of this is based on Snyder/Johns/Lee storyboards from December 2015, which were already largely changed by the time this version of JL was shot due to Post-BvS changes. Truth is we don't fully know what the plan was when this JL was being shot. We know Snyder and Lee did a whole bunch of new storyboards sometime in 2016, which would've been the new story, but we've never seen those. For example, the 2015 storyboards were based on the idea of Seth Grahame-Smith and Kurt Johnstad's Flash and Aquaman films respectively, whereas the changed ZSJL-era plan would've used the Rick Famuyiwa Flash film we were going to get and the Wan/Beall Aquaman film we actually got. Is it weird that I cry more for that Famuyiwa Flash film than literally any other cancelled Snyderverse thing? Seriously, his Flash film sounded incredible.

Birds of Prey was actually decent. Not "great", but "okay". It's worth watching I'd say.

Would actually love to see you watch the old Justice League to see your reactions to all of the differences. I think a lot of people would especially after you seeing the Snyder cut first. And I would totally watch you react to Wonder Woman 1984. It was hokey for sure but I found it entertaining. It wasn't the best movie in the world but I've seen far far worse.
