Okay… so hear me out… what if Harry’s mom was adopted by a muggle family? What if Lily Potter/Evans just thought that she was a muggleborn?

Lily Evans was in fact Lily Pendragon. A very old and very powerful pureblood family. Descending from Merlin, Uther and Arthur themselves?

That would make Lily as close to magical royalty as it is even possible to be. And that… would make Harry a pureblood… and thus… very attractive to a fanatic like Druella Black/Rosier.
