I noticed a lot of people seething at ep 342, and I understand it cuz it's so different in the manga. But it was funny to see the reason being the shipping, which can be valid depending on how you look at it, but for me, there's a big problem between Ichigo gradually losing his powers vs instantly losing his powers. Ichigo gradually losing his powers kinda invalidates everything that happened with Zangetsu. The latter's goodbye and the emotions behind it, for example, are kinda wasted because of this, as Ichigo could have met them after if he was gradually losing his powers.
