This is from ThymeLord22. Man missed the reaction but I wanted to comment on something I think Bleach does well that I haven't seen other series do nearly as well. I've never seen a series depict characters as pure as Ichigo and Orihime, and Isshin and Masaki. All four of them would be able to tell me they'd die or give up their lives for their loved one with complete sincerity and I'd know they mean it, but I'd also feel sad. Isshin goofily looks at Masaki while they're at the theater and calls her the sun and you know he's so genuine. Masaki can't hide that she's attracted to his outward honesty either. Ichigo is such an honest kid that has to break free from the self imposed way he never forgave himself as a kid and the trauma thereafter that never let him grow because he could only protect, no matter the cost. And Orihime, being unable to hide her love for donuts but would also give her life... And you just know all of them had to go through trauma to come out this honest and kind, it's such a real way to depict how trauma can make you think that unless you give 100% towards being a selfless protector you will let people get hurt and why breaking past that trauma and growing into the idealized version of yourself to become confident in who you are is so so important. Ichigo did it, and Orihime just achieved it too. Selflessness and pureness are so well done in Bleach imo and I wouldn't have my characters any other way!
