I just wanted to say thank you for giving me the motivation to read One Piece. I tried watching the anime years ago, but the pacing and endless number of episodes made me stop. I finally caught up to Skypiea after bingeing the manga and your streams over the past month. Your insights and enjoyment of the series have given me an appreciation for this story that I never thought I'd have.

"how difficult it is to be idealistic in a world like this" is a perfect summary of what One Piece is and why 'idealistic' doesn't mean 'naive' or anything like that. On the contrary, in such a shitty world, being optimistic and hopeful while still being realistic about the state of the world, may actually be the hardest thing to do, it takes an incredible amount of courage and perseverance. The way OP illustrates that is probably the thing I love most about it.
