It is FINALLY here. Work on this video started months ago and I am so relieved to finally have other peoples eyes see it. It was once again a collaborative effort, I hired Nick to edit this video and he got Ace to contribute music and of course Vidit co-wrote the history section (I'll post his original script for this part later because it's really good and you get Behind The Scenes goodies!) And as a special bonus, Serebii Joe himself makes a cameo :3 Enjoy!

Pokémon Gold Silver and Crystal (Nintendo GameBoy Color) - Retro Game Review - Tamashii Hiroka

Today Tamashii reviews Pokémon Gold Silver and Crystal for the Nintendo GameBoy Color, games that recently the general public have turned on. Are these Pokemon games as good as we remember or are we blinded by nostalgia? How do they stack up when compared to modern games like Pokemon Sun and Moon? I finally have merch again! Click here to shop and show your Johtoddler pride https://www.teepublic.com/stores/tamashiihiroka?ref_id=8628 Special thanks to Serebii Joe for being such a good sport and making a cameo in this video. While we may not agree on every single thing, he is a very cool dude. Nice. These were always my favorites growing up

I'll always have a weird relationship with Gen 2, it was the one I ended up having to skip when it first came out due to getting a broken copy of Gold and my parents not wanting to buy another so I went from Red to Ruby. Still, I have a lot of respect for the games because they fixed what I can now see were problems in Gen 1 for all Pokemon games that followed. Beyond that, I just love your passion for how the game let's you play how you want and that it's a RPG that encourages you to slow down and smell the flowers.

I have never thought about these games this way. Thank you for that. I definitely see what you mean about it being the game they always wanted to make. There really is something special to the way Gen 2 works. I honestly love the idea of going back and doing daily tasks, working towards lofty goals, and just being fully immersed in the Pokemon world. I think that's why I am working on a living dex. I really do want to go back and play Crystal this way now. It seems really cool. What a great analysis of Gen 2.

The ending about killed me.
