This month unexpectedly I was back into full time video creation. What's kind of amazing about that is that it seems kind of doable right now in a way it hasn't been in a long time. Because of Coronavirus, I'm starting to think it actually makes sense to go back to working from home doing full time content creation for a while, or at least also for next month. But if I do that it means I might need to rethink how this Patreon works.

We have two options:

1. I do full time content creation, make 3 videos, and charge for each one just like this month. Individuals can limit their pledges to only charge up to a certain amount each month if they can't support more than one charge a month.

2. I do full time content creation, switch to charging per month rather than per video, and will have to try to make up the other two thirds of my monthly income in other ways like streaming, merchandise and ad revenue. This is obviously less attractive to me personally but may be more attractive to you.

Please let me know which of these two options you prefer! The benefit to option 1 is that I don't have to rely on ad revenue at all and can make a wider variety of content that may not please the algorithm on YouTube. The benefit to option 2 is that you don't have to go into your settings and fiddle with anything.

I believe you should go with option 1, though I would have to limit my monthly contribution

Option 1! Make that good good money

If you can do option 1 for now go for it! I’ll keep watching the content.

I say go for option 1. People are able to limit their pledges and it's the easier option for you.

Option 1 is fine. I had already set a monthly limit to be honest.

Jared

I vote option 1. It's easier on you, and us changing setting on our end is pretty simple.

I would say option 1 but would also love to see more streams and more merch.

Option 1 - Patreon still makes it pretty easy to limit total charges to single creators, if that is an issue for people.

I just became a patron. I'm fine with paying per video. If you have a month where you can't get out three (or even two ) videos, you still get around the minimum of what I usually give to creators per month. And, if you provide the full amount of expected content, you get a little bit more and it barely affects my wallet.

Option 1, especially since we can control how much money we contribute each month. If folks want to donate to you multiple times for your hard work each month, they should be free to do so. Thanks for your work and for your entertaining and informative videos!

I will do my best to allow more time between finishing the video and putting it in early access and making it live. Weekly content is hard when it comes to making every single waking moment count, but I think I'm getting more efficient at it. I can switch to going live for everyone on Sundays rather than Saturdays if I can't manage to get it done faster each week.

definitely option 1! the videos lately have been amazing--do what feels the most authentic and sustainable for you
