I really enjoyed this! I like the backstory for Ash and Kal. Very nicely done. The story moves along very smoothly and I think your writing is excellent. I look forward to the next chapters!

Two quick grammatical items I noted were on pg 28 "casual liaisons hold no appear for me" (appeal) and pg 31 "and I had personally foot on three" (set foot). There was one other minor one I noted to myself but forgot to write down but it was a missing "a" or something small.
