A Commission for Xerxes76
Since being transformed from an ordinary man to the powerful (and busty) Meteor Woman, Kara has come to love her new superheroic life. She’s in love with an investigative reporter, she’s closer with her family, she’s doing good in the world, and . . . she’s pregnant! But with all these changes on the horizon, new threats rise up. A shady real estate mogul wishes to tear apart the community she has helped protect, and she must find a way to stop him, all while dealing with an ever-growing belly!

Issue 3: The Clinic
Kara fidgeted as she and Ralph sat in the waiting room of the Metropole Prenatal Clinic. She was dressed in a professional maternity blouse and slacks, though they couldn’t exactly hide her H-cup bust, nor the fact that her belly was now actually visible.
Jeez Louise, seventeen weeks have just flown by. I’m actually showing. I’ve got freakin’ flutters in here again. You’re not anxious, Kara. You’re just . . . fucking anxious.
And the news on the television in the upper corner of the room wasn’t exactly helping, especially since it concerned her own borough.
“-calls for the Mayor to crack down on the so-called ‘Metropole crime wave.’ Acts of vandalism, burglary, assault, and other crimes are up over thirty percent across the board, and collateral damage from superhero/supervillain fights have likewise increased, forcing both rent and insurance prices to skyrocket. The question a lot of people are asking is: where is Meteor Woman? We reached out to the Hero Society, who told us that she was currently on leave, but for what reason they would not say. It points to yet another question that has been plaguing the broken community of the Metropole for some time: does it need serious reform? Harrison Blackwell, founder and CEO of Blackwell Enterprises, had this to stay today:
‘It’s a horrible thing. Metropole was once intended to be the very heart of Star City. Now some of the people there act barely any better than animals. It’s unfortunate that city hall continues to push back against major infrastructural reform. Until we are allowed a hard reset, I’m afraid we’ll just have to expect crime and degeneracy to keep on rising in the Metropole area.’
“Of course, many locals disagreed. We asked Omar Yusuf, a corner store owner in the Metropole area whose store was damaged in a supervillain tussle with Meteor Woman four weeks ago, what he had to say on the matter:
‘It’s unfair to blame Meteor Woman! She’s our local hero! She does so much for us when the rest of the Society ignore us. She stands up for the little guy!’
“But his views are not echoed by all. In fact, a growing number of citizens are starting to ask if Meteor Woman has invited this crime wave with her presence, only to abandon the local citizens when they need her mo-”
Ralph squeezed her hand, jolting her from the rage that was beginning to swell within her. “Hey,” he said. “Don’t listen to it.”
“Kinda hard not to when you have super hearing,” she whispered to her loving husband. “Can you believe that shit? I know practically everyone in Metropole and I don’t recognise that lady.”
“Honey, there’s over one hundred thousand people that live in Metropole.”
She pouted and folded her arms over her belly. “Still don’t like it.”
“Maybe it’s just the h-”
She eyed him, and he backed right down.
“Well, can your dashing intrepid reporter husband get anything for you?”
Kara sighed and kissed her husband on the cheek. “I’d kill for one of the sweet plum drinks from the vending machine on the first floor?”
He made a dashing pose as he stood, uncaring of the other women and their partners in the room. “Then I promise to alleviate your woes, my lady!”
Kara snorted. “I married such a dork.”
“Ah, but a handsome dork, glasses and all!”
She grinned as he went to the hall and from there to the elevator. God, I love that man. Still can barely believe it at times. Oh, I hope Dinah is okay with Ma and Alexis. She normally has a nap around this time and she likes me to sing to her.
But there was no helping it. She needed her checkup to make sure the baby was going well, and she didn’t want to just get it done at the Hero Dome. Problems were growing in Metropole and she wanted to be close to her neighbourhood, rather than separated in that ivory tower dome of theirs. The news continued to cover the rise in violence and gang-related activity in the area, and it brought the woman low.
Jeez, I worked so hard for over two years to make this borough a nicer place, and now it’s all falling apart. They’re not right, are they? It’s not because of me? That’d be fucking crazy, surely. Right?
Still, the thought ate at her, and as she had during the last pregnancy, she made a show of fidgeting and rubbing her belly a little too quickly.
“Nervous?” came a voice.
Kara looked to her left to see another expectant mother, one who was in her thirties like her, and had dark skin and a beautiful series of braided locs in an updo. She was clearly further along in her pregnancy, perhaps six months along or so.
“A little,” Kara said with a smile.
“Your first?”
“Second.”
“You far along?”
“Seventeen weeks as of yesterday.”
The woman stroked her large dome, holding the dress tight beneath her bump to really emphasise its size.
“Me too,” she said. “I guess that makes us sisters, huh?”
Kara blinked. “But - well, uh, no offence, but you’re-”
The woman cracked up laughing. “No offence taken. This one’s an IVF baby, so it isn’t one after all. I’ve got a pair of twin baby girls growing inside me right now.”
“Woah. Congrats!”
“Wild feeling, isn’t it?”
“Like nothing else,” Kara agreed. “Can’t say I ever expected it: this one was an unexpected surprise. Well, I guess my little Dinah was too, but the timing is all over the place for number two. It’s throwing me.”
The woman gestured at the TV. “This whole crime wave thing, huh? I know what you mean. I’ve talked to my girl about moving, but neither of us wants to. Metropole is our home, y’know?”
Kara grinned. “Oh, I know. I’m Kara. Kara Conway.”
“Marli,” the woman replied with an easy smile. “Marli Mackleson. Yes, it is a very fun name to say.”
“It is. But not unusual. I happen to work with a lot of people with alliterative names.”
“I thought I recognised you!” Marli said. “Conway Security, right?”
Kara blushed. “Please don’t tell me you saw me on the side of a van.”
“Oh no, Leticia - that’s my partner - she bought one of your security systems last May. I was sceptical, but it sure as shit saved us from a home invader just four weeks ago. Tased him right out for the police to come scoop him up. Jeez, you must be making a fortune lately.”
Oh God, I hadn’t even thought of that. I probably seem like some goddamn vulture, damn it.
“Well, we’re doing better. But make no mistake, I don’t want crime. I wish, er, that Meteor Woman was still about.”
Marli just shrugged. “Yeah, maybe. You ask me, all of this is kinda funny.”
She cocked her head. “Funny how?”
The woman caressed her swollen belly idly. She wore a dark maternity dress that suited her body well, and Kara was a little jealous of how much more at-east this woman appeared in her pregnant skin, even bigger as she was.
“Okay,” she said. “Please don’t think I’m some crazy pregnant lady or something. I know we just met, but I’ve been driving Leticia wild with this so I’m just gonna go ahead and lay it out anyway. This all feels artificial to me.”
“Artificial how?”
The woman looked around, then shifted over conspiratorially. “This whole crime wave. One day Metropole is all fine, or at least getting better, and then progressively each week things have been getting worse and worse, and the media have been lapping it up. Now I know what you’re thinking; that’s just what the media does, right? But apart from a few outlets like The Daily Star, it’s like everyone leapt onto this story pretty closely together, and haven’t let it go. I mean, crime goes up, right? But where’s the actual big story? And yet we still hear about it all the time. And now there’s more supervillain fights, and all this criticism of Meteor Woman. I don’t even like the bitch, but she don’t deserve that!”
Kara paused. “You don’t like Meteor Woman?”
“Eh, I don’t trust anyone who wears a cape and flies over all us little people. I mean, she’s better than most, I’ll grant you that. But we gotta sort our own shit out sometimes, I think. City hall just likes to defund our local services because the capes sort it out. But that also means that when I get little recommendations on V-tube for shorts that call her useless and making crime worse and all that, I get a bit suspicious. It’s a little too tailored, you know?”
Kara took this in. That . . . could make sense. Or at least it could point to something more going on.
“My husband is Ralph Riley,” she said.
“Ooh, the cute intrepid reporter with the glasses and the messy hair? The one that nearly got shot out of a helicopter last year?”
“That’s him. I can ask him to look into this, if you wish.”
“Kara Conway?”
Marli smiled. “Be my guest. But for now, you enjoy your ultrasound, and seeing that little baby’s face.”
“And same for your girls,” Kara said back, standing up just as her husband returned with her much-needed juice. “And who knows, maybe you’ll rethink your stance on Meteor Woman. I certainly did!”
She began to walk away, but halted at the halfway point.
Ralph says I need more female friends. Actual friends, not just coworkers.
She turned around. “Hey Marli,” she said. “Do you mind if I add you as a friend? I’m trying to meet new people.”
Marli put up a pair of finger guns. “Girl, I was gonna hunt you down if you didn’t.”

Kara stared at the image. The little life beating inside of her. She could barely believe it. Her baby. Her child. Hers, and Ralph’s.
“That’s our little . . . thing,” she said.
“Our little thing, alright,” he said. “I told Perry that if he didn’t give me some time to come off here, I’d put in a request to work for the Star Reporter instead.”
She snorted in a rather unladylike manner. The ultrasound tech continued to probe over her belly slowly, taking numerous photos as she did so.
“Reckon this one is a super child?” Dr Light said.
Kara shrugged. “I don’t even know if Dinah is, Keiko. But goddamn, I really hope not. I’ve got enough trouble watching over Alexis out there in costume.”
Keiko chuckled. She wasn’t in her superhero costume as the fantastic Dr Light, mistress of lightwaves, but the pair knew each other. The fact that Keiko worked here was necessary for Kara if she was going to actually get her pregnancy updates in Metropole. Her body wasn’t exactly usual.
“Amazing,” Ralph said.
“Yeah,” she replied, squeezing his hand. “But damn this stuff is cold.”
“You’ve been knocked into buildings from a mile away,” Keiko said. “You’ll be fine. Do you want to know the gender? They’re a week earlier than my usual prediction, but they’re positioned really well at the moment.”
Ralph looked at Kara, and she looked back.
“Leave it a mystery,” they said as one.
“That’s a couple in sync,” Dr Light said, amused. “Well, everything looks great, Meteor Woman. You can get your reporter hubbie to wipe the gunk off. Another healthy baby, though I wish I could say it was a healthy neighbourhood. Are you sure you’re sticking around Metropole?”
Kara thought about what Marli had said. Maybe it’s just my superhearing catching all these damn TV stations out on Pager Square, but it does seem to be conveniently timed. organised, even. She didn’t, as a habit, like to tell Ralph what to investigate. Her husband was the one who caught leads and pulled on them. She just turned up when things went bad and punched stuff. But as Ralph cleaned the gel from her stomach, she felt a little flutter within, and, uncaring about the thin layer of jelly still on her skin, Kara slid her hand over her stomach, feeling its roundness.
My whole body is preparing for you. My belly is growing. God knows my tits are getting even bigger, enough for Alexis to tease me about it. I’m growing you, and my whole body is rearranging to keep you safe.
Which begged the question; how could she not pull on a few strings herself, even if she was pregnant, if it meant making sure the world her child entered was a safer one?
“Ralph,” she said, as she got out of the seat and lowered her shirt over her small dome. “I’ve got a request. Something I’d like you to look into.”
***
Ralph frowned as he looked over his computer, puzzling over what Kara had told him. She loved him when he got like this. He was normally so charming, such a natural go-getter, but when he got lost inside a story he got lost deep, and his dark hair often developed these cute little cowlicks where he ran his fingers through them constantly.
I tell ya, I never get sick of looking at that man. What a knockout!
“Mummy! Look! I’m showing you!”
Kara snapped back to attention. Dinah had constructed a . . . something out of her coloured blocks. It wasn’t immediately discernible what it was, but one thing was for sure: her stubborn little golden-haired daughter was adamant that she should know.
“Wow, Dinah, it’s amazing! It’s a . . . cat!”
Her daughter’s smile brightened her entire world. Fuck yeah, got that baby in one.
“Yes! It’s orange cat.”
“No honey, it’s red. See the colours? Red cat. Say ‘red.’”
“Red! But orange! Rorange!”
She began laughing and immediately started running around the room, crying out “Rorange! Rorange!” which eventually devolved into “Roar! Roar!” which led to them playing Dinosaurs, which usually consisted of Kara crawling around on all fours around her daughter and making growling noises while she ran away. Sometimes she liked to float after her, but she couldn’t do that too often, as little Dinah might tell someone soon without understanding why this was a Big Secret.
“Honey, do you mind taking this to another room?” Ralph asked.
“Sorry. Dino roars got ya distracted?”
“Something has.”
He gestured with a wink and an eyebrow raise, and she realised that she was wearing one of her usual low-cut tops, which combined with going on all fours meant that her big H-cup breasts were hanging like overripe fruit ready to come off the branch already. She gave him a sheepish grin and, while her daughter was distracted, gave her shoulders a shake while facing him.
“That’s it!” he said, closing the laptop. “I need a break.”
She turned to Dinah. “Little Di! Would you like an episode of Number Hearts?”
Dinah roared ecstatically, still a little dinosaur. “Numbah harts! Number harts!”
Just five minutes later, Kara was moaning passionately as she rode her husband on the floor beside their bed, the soundproofing activated so Dinah wouldn’t hear them, but her own super ears ready just in case. Not that Number Hearts was what she was focusing on right now.
“Ohhhhh,” she moaned. “Good! This is g-good. Ahhhhh. I’m been so fuckin’ horny lately, you’ve got no idea, Ralph.”
“I’m feeling that,” he said, gripping her ass. “Will you roast me with your laser vision if I say your ass has gotten huge?”
“Good huge or bad huge?”
He kissed her as she leaned forward. “Good huge. Fuck, I love what pregnancy does to your body. Like these.” He cupped her breasts, still sore as they slowly expanded, her nipples darker and wider in preparation to give milk once again. She moaned, biting her lip and shaking her shoulders. With her superior strength she easily forced his face right into her boobs, savouring the feel of him motorboating them.
A guy might as well embrace having one sexy pair of tits, after all. God knows I have!
She bounced on his lap, moving aggressively, dominating her husband. He in turn cupped her stomach, stroking it fondly, feeling her expanse.
“You’re so beautiful.”
“You like my belly! Ahhh!”
“I love it! Can’t wait to m-meet our next baby! But - ohhh - I also love how it makes you! So f-fucking sexy, Kara!”
She grinned. She was so close now. “You just like the idea of knocking up the hottest, bustiest supergal there is and making her your babymama.”
“I d-deny all such accusations and leave no f-further comment.”
The pair laughed, only for the passion to return. Her belly really was feeling bigger, her normally fantastic core muscles gone to give way to the growing dome. He caressed it, and his attention made her all the more aroused. She rode him harder, taking in all of him until-
“Ohhhhhhh, yesssss! Mhmmm!!”
She gripped him with her thighs, careful not to literally crush him as he held her stomach and played with her big momma tits. It was an intoxicating feeling, one that only got better as she was hit by repeated orgasms.
I - I don’t feel so half-bad about being a knocked up momma when I f-feel like this. Ahhh! Mhmmm . . .
Ralph looked deeply pleased. She giggled at his expression afterwards. “Don’t go to sleep. I want a united front when we turn the TV off.”
“No, I’m just thinking. Just being. Jesus, Kara, I know I say it everyday and have for the last two years, but thank God you stayed a woman.”
“Lady Atlas got nothing on your buxom blonde heroine, eh?”
“Damn right. And -”
He froze. For a moment, she thought something was wrong, until he gestured for her to get up. She slid off of him, moaning a little, his semen dripping down her leg. She grabbed a tissue to stem it only to see that Ralph was grabbing some papers from their bedroom desk and hurriedly scribbling upon them. He threw aside a pen that had run out of ink. It bounced against her face uselessly, causing no damage or pain. Still . . .
“Watch it,” she said, striding forward and stroking her belly, where those flutters were becoming more familiar. “Just because I’m bulletproof doesn’t mean I like my husband chucking frickin’ pens at me.”
“Sorry honey!” Ralph said. “But I’ve just thought of something!”
Kara fell silent. She knew when her husband got like this. He wasn’t Ralph Riley, husband at the moment. He was Ralph Riley, investigative reporter who had a damn scoop.
“I’ll go to Dinah,” she said.
He nodded, gesturing idly without truly acknowledging her. It made her smile.
There he is. The man I fell in love with. Go get ‘em, tiger.
Unfortunately, that meant turning off the TV for Dinah. It was made worse by how her face lit up once she was out after a very brief shower, Ralph still writing away, checking things on his computer now.
“Mommy! More numbers!”
“I see, dear. That’s amazing.”
“One! Three! Five! ODD!”
She laughed and sat beside her daughter. “Last song though, honey.”
“No!”
“Yes, last song.”
“NO!”
God, how did my mother do it?
One major temper tantrum, a time out, a ‘sorry’ and a whole lot of loving mommy hugs later, and Ralph finally emerged from their room. Kara had Dinah in her lap, and her daughter was feeling her mother’s belly in total wonder.
“Baby in there?”
“Yes, a baby brother or baby sister.”
“No. No baby.”
Kara chuckled. “Well, you’ll understand in under five months, kiddo. Hey there Ralph, nice of you to join us.”
Her husband was all confident. An anchorman. Or a reporter about to eviscerate their subject with facts. Her body was so horny she wanted another round already.
Down girl, she told herself.
“I’ve got it,” he said. “Or at least the threads of something. Your new friend is right, Kara. I don’t know how I didn’t see it, but there’s something coordinated in this. The crime wave is rising in the Metropole area, but there’s no equivalent rate in the rest of Star City, not even in directly neighbouring boroughs. Not even in directly neighbouring city blocks. What’s more, the board discussion with the councilman, alderman, and the mayor to discuss the crime wave issue? These meetings have been scheduled monthly, starting six months ago.”
Kara cocked her head. “So?”
Ralph held up his pen victoriously. “So six months ago, Metropole had its lowest crime statistics in over seven years. The rise in crime only started four months ago.”
“You think they knew crime was going to go up?”
“I think they did. But you know where things get interesting? I just had a little call from my contact inside the City Council. He couldn’t tell me much, except that in those early meetings, members of the Urban Planning Committee were present.”
Kara winced. She had Dinah in her lap again, playing with the blocks while also trying to do a weird somersault thing over her mother’s shoulders. Kara lifted her up and ‘flew’ her through the air. “Look, I was just born as some dumb boy in the blocks, Ralph. I stole shit - sorry, stuff - to pay for bills. Can you draw some connections for my dumb brain?”
Ralph nodded. “Honey, insurance premiums are skyrocketing in Metropole. The violence has been devaluing property.”
Meteor Woman narrowed her eyes. “Someone is making a play for the entire borough. They want to destroy it, then rebuild it for their own people.”
“Bingo.”
Kara sighed, then covered her daughter’s ears for a moment.
“Those fuckers,” she said. “And they just have to do this while I’m knocked up, don’t they?”
To Be Continued . . .
