An Anonymous Commission

Evelyn is a mean, close-minded girl belonging to a hyper-religious family. Fearing what ‘evil liberal’ college could do to their daughter, her parents decide to send her to a female-only college with a strong Christian charter. But little do any of them know that this particular institute worships the nature of Eve herself, viewing her as a pure sexual creature in tune with nature and other women. And they intend to make all of their students just like her . . .

Part 3: Eden Meditations

Evelyn’s mother and father were of no help at all, not even when she was finally able to organise a video call with them; something granted only after an entire week of complaining to the Dean and to Sister Zuri about how her lovely pale skin had yet to return to normal, and that her hair remained darker as well. She kept to herself about that strange painting she had seen, and the odd students, none of whom looked like the kind of people she would consider a ‘model Christian.’ In her mind, she had gathered enough evidence to get her father to pull her out of this oddball college, but instead it turned out the Dean and her dark-skinned thug henchwoman had been one step ahead of her the whole time.

“Oh, I’ve already seen the footage of that!” her father said. “Honey, sweetness, the college is taking in vile paintings and blasphemous artwork and burning them, like any truly righteous person would for such offensive material!”

“But Daddy, it seems . . . weird. I’m not sure this is a proper Christian school! I mean, look at me! Something they’re putting in the water is making me look weird!”

She gestured to her skin tone, which had only darkened further, until it appeared almost light olive in complexion. Peyton was the same, and that rude freak Becca as well, along with all the other girls. Furthermore, her nose had not changed shape, and her hair was starting to look more like a light brown than a gorgeous golden blonde. And there were other changes, too. Well, not so much changes as strange feelings. Try as she might, she couldn’t stop feeling a strange pull to go and meditate before the statue of Eve again, praying to the Lord to make her more in the First Woman’s image. It really did bring such peace, and-

“Sweetie? Are you listening to me?”

Evelyn refocused. She adjusted her laptop, terrified that her father would notice that her nipples were now stiff and pointy, a strange flush of arousal and excitement running through her. Why wasn’t she wearing a goddamn - er, a goshdarn bra?

“Sorry, Daddy,” she said. “I just, er, got a message from my friend Peyton.”

“A good Christian girl like yourself, I imagine!” her father said with a smile.

“Yes, yes, she’s very devout. We’re all very devout, except for a few radical leftists who have been taken in by the woke mind virus until their parents sent them here.”

Her father gave a belly laugh. “As well they should have! Isn’t that right, honey?”

“Absolutely!” her mother said. “But my, she’s not wrong, Stephen, she is looking a bit darker, isn’t she?”

“So long as she isn’t ‘dark’, she’s fine, honey,” Stephen said, eyes crinkling in amusement at his quite literally off-colour joke. “Besides, it’s just the sun, Evelyn! You’re getting a natural tan out there in God’s creation. Nothing wrong with that, just wear more sunscreen.”

“But - but how do you explain my eyes, Daddy! My hair! My nose!”

Her mother Abigail cocked her head a little. “It is a little strange, but my own hair goes darker in summer, dear.”

“Okay, but my nose is longer! Look at the bridge of it! And my lips look fuller!”

Both parents stared at her, and for just a moment she thought she might not be going insane. But then her mother just shrugged.

“I’m very sorry, honey, but I can’t make out much detail. We don’t have a strong connection on our end. I’m sure it’s nothing. Make sure to check you aren’t allergic to anything. And make sure to keep praying and stay virginal and pure.”

“Absolutely,” her father said. “Remember the promise ring I gave to you!”

Evelyn cringed. Even for her, the promise ceremony to maintain her virginity had been too much.

“I’ll remember, Daddy.”

Still, it was good to be reminded of her true purpose; to become a good, morally superior woman who could walk in God’s footsteps. And this place, apparently, had a great success in networking to find its graduates a “perfect life partner.” Dean Grace had told her that in those words exactly.

“We love you, our little girl,” Abigail said. “Keep good company.”

“Yes, make sure to be in the world-”

“But not of the world,” Evelyn finished, smiling brightly with a bit more sense of self restored to her. “Thank you, Daddy. Thank you, Mom. Don’t you worry, I’ll be alert to any sin that I see, and preach against it just like you do on the pulpit, Daddy.”

“Thattagirl! By the time you graduate, you’ll be ready to serve the Lord and your husband both.”

She didn’t even have time to end the video call; the time she’d been allotted ended in that very moment. Evelyn had mixed feelings after the call. On one hand, she felt much more reassured about being at the College of Eve. Her parents were right; her body was clearly just reacting to some stuff, and her mind was making her paranoid because of her inherent dislike of the place. But it was a Christian school, one devoted to God and her future purpose, and in that she could learn to adjust, especially once she established a good pecking order with her at the righteous top. She already had Peyton, and now a quiet beanpole of a girl named Anna had joined them too. Yes, she could indeed calm her fears and learn to deal. And yet doubts still clouded her after the call, those mixed feelings stirring to the surface of her thoughts.

Her parents had reminded her of her purpose. It was the purpose she had known since she was a child that she was destined for: to marry a husband who would be her master and leader of the house. To give him children. To raise them, and give up work so that he could be the breadwinner. To live that nuclear family lifestyle, and grow the Church through her womb, taking a step into the back to support the men in her life, as was a woman’s lot since the Original Sin of Eve.

Why then, did that not seem so satisfying anymore? She’d always planned to have just a little bit of acceptable fun before committing to that future, but now . . . the future itself seemed kind of empty. Here she was surrounded by women, in an institution run by women, one that venerated the First Woman, and she was still doomed to become a servant to a man.

“No, not ‘doomed,” she told herself. “Stop thinking like some kind of godless, greedy liberal, Evelyn. You know your purpose. This college will help you find it.”

Or so she thought.

***

Evelyn continued her courses over the following weeks. Peyton was always by her side, the loyal and servile fool, and now she had Anna as well, the tall brunette who was a deeply shy and quiet girl, one who had, apparently, tried marijuana with her friends after being peer-pressured, and had proceeded to get wasted afterwards.

“Your sin disgusts me,” Evelyn told her. “But through God you are forgiven. I would be more than happy to be your friend and help you, just like I’ve helped Peyton here.”

“Oh . . . thank you,” Anna said. “I would like a friend.”

It was probably the longest sentence she’d spoken to Evelyn, but it was another feather in her cap. She was creating her own ministry, just like her father. Not only did it give her a sense of power, but protection as well. She still didn’t entirely trust this school’s strange focus on Eve, who was a fallen woman, as her father taught her, or the weird revisionism with Lilith and Adam, the former of which was just some weird rumour that heretics had taken and run with!

Still, her courses proceeded apace, and most of them assuaged her concerns. Indeed, the Introduction to Textiles course was particularly useful, teaching the women of the college how to sew fabrics, craft their own dresses, and deal in crochet and other womanly creative arts. Gardening With God was an extra-curricular that was practically expected of the students, and one that she found herself connecting with far more than she imagined. Evelyn had never once possessed a green thumb - just about every plant she handled died in less than a month. But under the tutelage of Professor Bethany, she was surprised to find herself soaking up the details of how to care for each different plant, flower, vegetable patch and fruit tree in the extensive gardens.

“You’re so very good at this, Eve,” the kindly Professor said. Like the other leaders, she couldn’t have been older than thirty five at most, and was a gorgeous woman of latina heritage with a surprisingly impressive backside that Evelyn found it hard not to stare at when she bent over to water the plants.

“Um, it’s Evelyn, actually.”

“Of course, of course,” the woman said. “My apologies. You just have such an auspicious name. But I truly meant what I said; you are a natural at this. Already the flowers bloom merely in your presence, I swear!”

At this, Evelyn blushed a little. “I mean, it’s only been a few weeks, Professor. I’m sure there’s plenty of time for me to accidentally kill some plants. Unintentionally, I mean. I’ve just . . . never been good at this stuff.”

“Ah, but you will be! I once had no affinity for plants, but now I can’t go without my Garden of Eden. Sometimes I liked to simply remove all my clothing and sing to them while naked, one with nature just like God intended us women to be.”

At this, Evelyn looked to her friends and gave a ‘what a weirdo, huh?’ gesture, to which Peyton tried not to laugh and Anna bit her lip nervously. Becca, who was part of the same gardening group, just chuckled under her breath.

“This shit is stupid. Dancing naked with the trees? What is this, some kind of hippie religious fanatic commune or something?”

But the professor showed no anger at all to this comment. She simply plucked a ripe mango and passed it to Becca. “Come, everyone, let us meditate under the watchful gaze of Eve together. I’m sure she’ll help you understand, Becca, why one would want to be unburdened before the light of our Lord.”

Becca grumbled, but did not argue, which surprised Evelyn. Mind, she didn’t balk at meditating before the statue of Eve either. Neither did Peyton, or Anna, or anyone else, not even the goth girl who had recently joined them and seemed totally apathetic to everything around her, a compliment to Becca’s hostility. Evelyn hated the girl on sight, naturally; her gothic makeup and tattoos were an affront to what a good Christian girl should be.

“Whore of Babylon right there,” she whispered to Peyton, who gasped a little at the comment. “She better lose those tattoos and that eyeliner if she wants to avoid burning in hell forever.”

She sneered at the girl, who just narrowed her eyes back, as they made their way to the intricately carved statue of Eve’s deeply curvaceous form. They gathered in a circle, and Evelyn saw this as her moment.

“Professor!” she said, holding up her hand. She tried to ignore that it was most definitely olive-coloured now, or that even the small blemishes on her skin had started to fade somehow.

“Yes, Eve? Sorry, I mean to say, yes, Evelyn?”

Evelyn sat up a little straighter, already putting on her most haughty expression. “I just want to say that I don’t think all of us are as devoted to the Path of Eve - or the more important Path of God - as they should be. Some of us here seem to have embraced godless secularism . . .”

At this, she eyed Becca, who threw up a subtle middle-finger and a silently-mouthed “fuck you, bitch.” Evelyn just smiled wider and continued to talk.

“. . . while others seem to not understand how a true Christian woman should style herself as; beautiful, modest, and feminine, so that she may be properly appreciated by her future husband.”

This was clearly directed at Agatha, the goth girl. The woman just shrugged her shoulders, which were covered by a spiked leather jacket despite the college uniform rules demanding their simple, flowing white dresses.

“We got a Stepford wife here,” Agatha said.

“I just think that we should address the sin in the room,” Evelyn said, smiling directly at the goth woman, her joy failing to reach the haughty glint in her eyes.

Peyton nodded next to her, though it was obvious she was just cowed by Evelyn’s presence. Anna just fidgeted some blades of grass. The girl might as well have been mute. Still, their presence gave her words more authority.

“You are very, very right,” Professor Bethany said, sitting down with the students. “Isn’t that right, Sister Zuri?”

“Indeed, Sister Bethany” said the Professor of Womanhood Studies, who surprised the group with her appearance. She was wearing a simple white dress, one that showed off much of her legs and had far too short sleeves by Evelyn’s estimation. Her hair was down in complex braids, and her smile was radiant as the sunbeams fell upon her through the gaps in the tree canopies above. “There is a great deal of sin here. To become true Daughters of Eve, we must be cleansed of sin and become pure, innocent, perhaps even simple. That does not mean stupid, girls, but it means that we rejoice in nature and each other, as Eve once did with Lilith. It also means we must sacrifice the sin of pride, Evelyn.”

She gave the young woman a pointed look, and Evelyn felt an odd shudder in her, one that only magnified as she looked away from Zuri with embarrassment, only to take in the sheer beauty and blissful nakedness of the statue of Eve looming over them.

“I - I guess,” she said.

“Why don’t we all meditate?” Zuri said. “We shall say a group prayer together, and then bask in the beauty of Eve. We will soak in her teachings, and know the love of womankind to one another. That means we will not be catty and cruel, we will not form cliques, we will not be hypocrites. Instead, we shall be naked before the Creator, here in our Garden of Eden.”

They were instructed to close their eyes and pray together, and Evelyn was spooked enough that she did so without hesitation. It was as if Zuri had seen right through her, but unlike her usual angry response to such a call out, instead she felt . . . shame. Yes, it was indeed shame. A burning guilt that grew even as Zuri prayed for them to become like Eve and follow the innocence and beauty of ideal womanhood. That guilt became a burning need she had never felt before.

A need to truly confess.

She felt the gaze of Eve in her mind, experienced the presence of the statue and all of its symbolism. Zuri was singing something, and Bethany was joining her. It was entrancing, as was the very presence of the statue itself.

“Praise be to Eve, we follow your footsteps true! Naked and beautiful, you inspire us all, to be God’s women, true. Praise be to Eve, who never once sinned, and walked the holy Garden. Open our hearts to your love and your light, where once our own hearts did harden!”

Voices joined the choir. Peyton’s squawky tone erupted in song, followed by Anna, her warbling voice slowly losing its shyness. To Evelyn’s astonishment, Becca’s voice joined the choir, and not long after so did Agatha’s voice, a husky drawl that rounded out their assortment of tones. Another voice proceeded to join as well, and it took a moment for Evelyn to realise it was hers. She had never heard this song before, and yet it was as if the lyrics were inscribed within her soul. She, like all the others, she imagined, still had her eyes closed. The entire experience was hypnotic, drawing her and all of them in. Eve’s presence was in her, and the guilt began to melt away. The sins she had committed, the bullying, the self-righteousness; they were all laid bare before her and then forgiven by the figure of the First Woman.

The singing rose, becoming a beautiful chorus. It was all becoming so dreamlike, just like that first meditation weeks ago that had gone down the memory hole. This time, however, she didn’t fall unconscious or go into a fugue state, at least not yet. A rapturous delight came over Evelyn, the young no-longer-blonde woman swaying slightly. She reached out automatically and found Anna and Peyton’s hands, and somehow she was able to sense that the entire circle were holding hands in this way. Their very life essence seemed to flow through her, a great band of connection that lifted them all closer to Eve’s grace. The sensation was euphoric. No, it was more than that, it was holy. Evelyn had talked a big game about being a godly woman for so many years now, as had her parents, but this was the first time she truly felt something celestial in her.

It was intoxicating.

It was blissful.

God, it was arousing.

The pleasure centres in her body started to respond to this communion of the soul. Her nipples hardened and expanded. She moaned, as did several others. She wanted to touch her own nipples, feel how big they were getting. They had to be getting bigger, and even her areolas were getting more sensitive and expanding. They rubbed against her shirt, and she realised for the first time that day that she hadn’t been wearing a bra. Hell, she hadn’t even thought to wear one; it just seemed so much more natural to go without. And it was a good decision, because moments later something was definitely growing. Two things, in fact. Her chest pushed forward, the flesh growing from nothing, expanding, tissue and fat forming to make her breasts larger. She moaned again.

“Ohhhh, yessss, God! Yes, Eve! Mhmm!”

Others did the same. Peyton was stuttering her praises to the Creator beside her. Soon the entire circle was moaning beneath the holy presence of Eve.

“Like, this is - ahhh - incredible!” Evelyn cried.

“Isn’t it just?” Zuri said. Don’t we agree, girls?”

“Yes!” Anna cried.

“F-fuck yeah!” Becca exclaimed.

“This is b-better than cocaine!” Agatha added.

Indeed, it was better even than Evelyn’s secret self-pleasure sessions. She so desperately wanted to touch her body, to fully experience the sensations she was being gifted with, but her connection to the others was just as important. She didn’t feel superior and righteous compared to the girls around her anymore. She was one of them, and they were all together, a sisterhood of love and beauty and natural glory. Even her clothing felt wrong upon her form, something that should be shedded. Fortunately, Evelyn maintained just enough self-awareness to avoid giving into that particular desire. Instead, she focused on the changes in her body. Those wonderful, impossible, pleasurable changes.

“Ahhhh!” she moaned, the bliss rising. She could feel her flat rear starting to expand, her dainty hips spreading. She was reminded once again of Eve’s lovely birthing hips, perfect for childbearing, and so she wriggled on the spot, swaying with the others as her body transformed. Her hair, already long, grew several inches. She sensed it was becoming darker, just as the arousing heat upon her skin meant her tone was darkening there too. But it was impossible to care, not while she was in the rapturous light of the Lord.

“Yesss! I’m so c-close to his holy light!” she exclaimed, her breasts still aching as they grew, a wonderful ache, an ache of change and growth. “I can f-feel it! I can feel it!”

“Me too!” Peyton exclaimed.

“Ohhhhh, I never believed until now!” Becca yelled.

“Yes, feel it,” Zuri said, her voice carrying across the blissful moans. “Embrace the power of Eve. Feel your connection to one another. Feel the beauty of womanhood, and your connection to each other. These are more than your sisters, they are the flesh you were intended for. Feel that love. That attraction.”

It was wrong. Evelyn knew it was wrong. She was straight. She was heterosexual. Homosexuality was a ghastly sin, the worst of the worst, and all who partook in it were destined for the fires of hell forever and ever. But in this moment of terrific ecstasy, she began to rub her friend’s hands and arms, her eyes still closed, their bodies burning in her mind. Thoughts of experimentation, of womanly love, infected her mind. She’d never possessed such thoughts before. Not ever. Yet now they proved the final step that brought her to the point of terrific climax. Evelyn moaned like a whore, like a slut, like a sinful bimbo as the thoughts reached fruition and her bodily changes reached their climax - at least for now.

“Yessss! I want to f-feel them! I want their love! Give me Eve’s love!”

She collapsed backwards, as did many of them, panting heavily and struggling to control her breathing. Only then did she open her eyes, taking in the sight of the women around her as she raised herself up on still-trembling arms. They appeared changed. All of them appeared changed. Every girl had been Caucasian, some tanned with light olive skin like her, but now they had a lovely mid-tone olive, a gorgeous bronze colouration that reminded her of latinas and Hispanics, two groups she and her parents had long vilified. Their breasts were obviously larger, their figures more curvaceous - some subtly, particularly if they had already possessed curves, but others to a greater extreme. Peyton had lost most of her chubbiness, the fat having flowed to her chest and thighs, while Evelyn herself now had a pair of what had to be B-cup breasts or even possibly small C-cups upon her chest, full and lovely, her nipples brushing against the fabric of a now-tighter dress. She lowered her hand and felt her larger ass, then looked at her more appealing thighs. Everything about her body was more sensitive, as if the Original Sin within her female form had been dimmed, and the original pleasures of Eden had been visited upon her.

“How do you all feel?” Professor Zuri asked, admiring each of them. “Do you feel changed?”

Changed. That word. Changed. Evelyn managed to push past her bliss even as the weaker-minded girls celebrated their forms. This wasn’t right. She shouldn’t have darker skin. She shouldn’t have - God, her nose felt even more prominent, and her lips fuller, her cheeks too. No, this was a temptation. A temptation of the Devil!

“What are you doing to us!?” she yelled suddenly, standing to her feet and shocking the group.

“Um, what are you talking about?” Peyton asked.

“Look at us! We’re changing! We’re changing race, we’re all looking like some mixed race experiment! Is this some Satanic ritual? Why are our breasts growing?”

Becca frowned. She was still athletic, but now had additional and obvious curves. Her face looked like an indeterminate ethnic-blend, her brunette hair approaching black now; it had even gained some waves to it.

“What are you, like, talking about? Don’t ruin the vibe, Evelyn. I’ve never felt like that before!”

“But you’re changing!”

“Only in mind,” Agatha said. “I don’t know what you mean about that other stuff. But man, I want more of this. More of Eve’s wisdom.”

Evelyn was astonished. Hadn’t they felt the changes? Couldn’t they see with their own eyes that they looked different? She turned to Professor Zuri, who was now standing, her face resplendent. She looked so beautiful, and it stirred something in Evelyn, much to her own horror.

“Wh-what are you doing to us?”

Zuri smiled, and then gestured up. “Look! What a beautiful little robin.”

“What?”

Something fluttered from the tree above and landed on Evelyn’s hand. She nearly jumped backwards, until she realised it was indeed a beautiful little bird. A robin, just as Zuri had said. It chirped at her happily, resting on her hand as if she were a Disney princess about to burst into a song. Evelyn couldn’t help herself; she started to beam, her smile wide and earnest, without a drop of judgement or haughtiness in it.

“I feel so at one with nature right now,” she murmured.

“Because you are,” Zuri said.

“Because you walk with Eve,” Bethany added.

Evelyn giggled like a schoolgirl. Like a woman without a care in the world. She held up the bird and whistled to it, and it sang back to her. The girls clapped in excitement, many of them giggling as well.

“What was I talking about just now?” Evelyn asked.

The dark-skinned professor simply smiled. “You were talking about how happy you are to follow the Path of Eve.”

The young woman with brown hair, not blonde, smiled anew.

“That’s right,” she said, almost vacantly. “I’m so happy to be here.”
