Saw this slightly older one floating around and I just really got a kick out of it. I really fought with myself trying to figure out how to approach it, trying to figure out how to just dub the original image without spoiling the punchline, how to fit the framing, or if I was going to redo it how I would even achieve that, I'm not at all familiar with recording Machinima so I wasn't sure how I'd get the posing and everything.I also realized that the original was kinda perfect as it was, so doing any kind of adaptation that wasn't just the original image would inherently be a bit of a downgrade. So my objective was to try to minimize how *much* of a downgrade because to me it was still worth it to bring this to a video adaptation.I thiiiink the original was done based on Halo 4, so I booted up the Master Chief Collection to jump into Halo 4 and figure out what some options might be. Lo and behold I got very lucky, because it turns out when you're customizing your character, they have little idle animations where they turn and stuff. So I just customized the dude to resemble the ones in the original pic as best as I could (couldn't really find the exact armor in MCC, maybe I would just need to unlock them to see them) and screencapped them doing their idle against the menu background. I'm really happy with how it came out, I will actually probably do more videos in the future just "animating" it by cropping out screencapped dudes on menus doing poses, it has its own little visual style which I think brings it a unique life.So in that regard I'm very happy with this, because I definitely didn't create something *better* (I never do, IMO the original pics are usually the best they can be already), but I created something *unique* in some way, it has its own little personality and life, so it's just an alternate version of the thing being dubbed, its own little reasons to exist. And that's all I really set out to do when I dub memes I find on the net. Make *something* I wanted to make exist.https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/9klnb5/banshees/
