SMASH! 2015 Cosplay Highlights (Patreon)

We had a SMASHING time at SMASH! 2015! Here's our Cosplay Highlights video. We hope you enjoy it.

At this stage we'd like to give an update on the future of the channel, in regards to Cosplay Highlights videos. In late 2011 Vysanthe and I were studying film together in university. We both had an interest in pop culture and cosplay, and decided it would be fun to go to Brisbane Supanova and try to recreate scenes from our favourite films and games using the cosplayers on hand. Since then we've been to almost every Supanova in Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sydney, as well as traveling around Australia to film a handful of other conventions (Manifest, PAX, Animania, EB Games Expo, Oz Comic Con etc). After doing it for several years now we're quite proud of how far we've come. You can definitely see the difference in our latest videos compared to our earlier works (we can't even watch those anymore because they're so cringe-worthy). After so many conventions we're starting to feel like we're reaching a ceiling in terms of how much higher we can go. Instead of continuing to push at that ceiling and risking the chance of stagnating and becoming boring, we'd like to move on and start focusing on other kinds of content.

So, besides our LoL OPL 2015 Cosplay Highlights video, SMASH! 2015 Cosplay Highlights will likely be our last convention video. Instead we're going to be focusing more on creating better narrative short films. That way we can challenge ourselves, show off our abilities, and create more engaging content that people will remember.

Besides finishing our Assassin's Creed video (which has become such a thorn in our side, but that's another story), we have a lot of projects that we want to see made. We can't say for certainty which one we'll go ahead with first, as that decision will be heavily influenced by the production side of things, but we'll update you guys when we get something more solid going.
